A round of golf at Ellesmere Port municipal golf course in England. It's a par 71 parkland course that was 5947 yards from the men's yellow tees.
The green fee was just £10 for a twilight round in September 2023.
The fee for a buggy was £20.
I'm James, a golfer with a dodgy swing now playing off a 14.8 handicap.

Grew up as a kid playing around here in the woods and pulling golf balls out of the ponds, its a nice place in the summer. Go back in a few months when the weather is nice and try again 🙂

Yes I really like the ball for putting. The only thing is you have to line it up perfectly which can take a little time. Thanks for watching :)

Wow. Love the outfit James 😎 How did you rate the Ping driver ? I picked up the G5 5 wood for £7 and looking forward to a range session. By the way some nice putting there on, shall we say, not the best greens
I normally game the Ping G10 (12° reg) and it was very similar. Couldn't notice too much difference even with the cracked face. Great clubs! Thanks for watching 👍👍👍

Good video James,looks a typical Municipal ,a good course but doesn't get the upkeep that members clubs do. I bet its not too bad in the summer

Doesn't seem bad at all,good grass and good layout. Theres other here on RUclips which are very very bad! Well played again. Flashy gear-you must get traditional but glamorous, go for the plus fours-great for winter,no coimb up of mud etc
A couple of the greens were ropey but it wasn't too bad all in all. I was pre-warned by a subscriber on the day that the course was very muddy but it was still playable (albeit with no rollout). 👍👍👍

I really like putting with the blue & red striped Taylormade balls. Gives instant feedback on how you hit the putt and looks great on camera. Thanks for watching 👍👍👍

The course actually looks quite good - I have seen plenty worse. Your chipping seems to have gone off a bit. Have you changed your technique?
I wasn't used to the wedges especially that weird wide sole one. The 56° was digging with soft ground which cost me 2 or 3 shots. Thanks for watching :-)
Wasn’t that par 3 with a lost ball 3 off the tee? Therefore with a single putt it’s a bogey? What am I missing?
Yeah it was a bogey but it was up and down with the 2nd ball. First time in my life I've done that. Glad to catch it on camera 👍👍👍

Did you buy the clubs and clothes at the same bargain resale store James? Great video!
On hole 15 your ball was embedded. If the lift clean and place Winter Rule was in place you proceeded correctly. But at any time, even in the rough, if the ball is embedded in its own pitch mark you can take relief by dropping a ball within a club length no nearer the hole.
Cheers mate, I confused myself with that one. It's annoying when you get zero rollout especially as a short low hitter like me!

I love those Taylormade striped balls. I was using a couple of the green ones for putting practice at home. Tried them on the course and the darker blue and red ones are amazing! Just wish the compression was lower than 70 but you can't have everything!

The driver game was good except there was zero rollout on this day which was a tad annoying. That 4 wood was sweet as a nut can't believe it was £1! 👍👍👍

Balls from a dog walker who sells them at the local car boot. 25-50p a ball even for TP5s (all one hit wonders!)

I’ve played a few courses like that here in Texas. Most were not as bad as the rating indicated. With that outfit you’ll never be lost in the trees.

How do you get your handicap are you a member of a club?
I do it by the Golfshot app I have over 150+ rounds logged. It's very accurate as my hcp has drifted from 11.6 to 14.8. My club handicap would probably be a little lower as I play different courses all the time making course management errors

The clubs at £1 each were actually cheaper than what the buggy cost. I really like this course layout especially the 4 par-5s which you don't expect on cheaper courses.

When you save that much on golf clubs you can afford to buy the highest quality garments. Seems like an alright round of golf to me!
Most of the other fellow golfers mentioned the outfit when on the course this day. Some others didn't mention it and I was thinking 'how are you talking to me with a straight face!' (or maybe they were colourblind?!)

I just watched a video on it and on nearly every hole you can hear the motorway!
@@notaperfectgolfer3489 11 holes on one side of the motorway. 7 on the other. There are some nice holes to be fair. But the tee boxes and bunkers are the worst you’ll ever play.
