Own the same 2.5 newport with a 2.0 pistol superstroke grip ....but dont use it anymore ....its a brilliant putter but i switched to a blacked out ping tine 4 and have putted the best i ever have in my 20 plus years of playing golf ....with the ping .... but i will always have the scotty on back up
What irons/hybrids would you recommend for ultra high handicapper (33) with very high swing speeds. Fats, thins, tops, big slice, cant close club face, lessons and countless drills arent working. Swing goes back to old swing even after 1000's of reps. I'm actually getting worse with more practice. I have game improvement clubs. When i do strike them well i have no problem sticking greens. My spin and launch angle is a bit too high and landing angle on the top end of acceptable with my clubs. In the end distance makes no difference to me. I want to hit the ball im play and lower my scores. Is there a magic club? I dont care at all about how it looks. Im oretty giod with 8 iron thru gap wedge and two putt a lot. Short game is good but anything 7 iron and over is just out of control in all ways.
i assume your swing / wrists flex like a wedge shot , i can play wedges with crazy amount of flipping of wrists with no harm. but with 7 iron and lower like you say it doesnt work . try setting up and create your impact position with shaft lean delofting the club. . feel like you fix your wrists on the backswing holding the impact position , do it slow motion to see if you end up at impact position with a square face, if not readjust ur hands /body until it is comfy for you even if is not correct and gives a square face.

@@roblancaster2036 clubs wont make a difference ,. the only thing that hits the ball straight is a square club face. the longer the club face is square at impact the straighter it will go. you mention you have a high swing speed , i do too is one reason i responded . you say you can hit 8 iron ,pw etc no problem... i have a totally diff swing/setup for wedges, as i said its a relaxed flipping motion all arms and wrist, no real body rotation or effort as its not about distance you just use the loft.. when using a iron for distance its totally diff , locked wrists ,heavy shaft lean , strong grip , lots of body/hips motion . .. try lots of shaft lean with a strong left hand , get impact position setup with left hand , straight left arm. start the backswing keeping wrist feeling fixed{ it naturally will flex without you knowing} , bring it back to impact position, it should be square with shaft lean. , then follow thru with your arm, it should get to about shoulder height infront of you when it feels like your wrist locked. it will feel like your doing a three quarter swing on backswing and release.....the delofted square club face combined with a high swing speed will send a 7 iron 33 degree loft around 160-170 yards straight as an arrow. ignore all advice and spend 20 mins changing your grip/stance to make the club face square at impact,, , do slow motion air swings and adapt your grip and body so it maintains the impact position .
I love those Gen 3 0311's. I picked up a used set of XP's about 6 weeks ago and love them. Went out today with my son, grandson and a friend to celebrate my 70th birthday . . . and got my first hole in one w/ them! And I'm a crappy golfer!!
Beautiful golf course. I believe Brett was probably a very good athlete at most everything as a teen. He plays really well at 12 hcp, and makes for a fun round. I always enjoy the videos you film with your mates, James. Well done, Brett.

What does taking your time entail? I see people all of the time take a couple practice swings, stand over the ball for a couple minutes only to top it or shank it.
@@mobrady well, you get duffers taking too long. You also get duffers rushing around the course like Marty Feldman if you're old enough to remember him. That's the kind I'm talking about.
@rickhardcastle5402 I get it but there is nothing worse than watching mediocre guys taking a long time to hit. I work at a course and the best players I see play fast.

Because of a term called “pace of play”. These guys on RUclips can’t take forever as they are filming everything and have to keep pace of play.
