I know there are only sprites that let the characters emote when standing still, otherwise the sprite sheet would be massive, but Tails having his default curious little dog face when he comes back actually worked out well. Like his body is in autopilot then gains control once landed.
This is exaclty why being immortal is not as good as you think. Losing loved ones could hit you so much that you wish you'd be the one that died. I had that feeling when i lost my cat 2 weeks ago.
