I can humbly say that our daughter Amirthavarshini is the first female Flautist for our one and only Maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja sir...
Blessed day it was to see my daughter on stage with her brother Lydian for Raaja sir's Special concert for G20 conference held on 28th may 2023 ...
I am so thankful to Maestro for giving opportunity for both my children in one stage ....also this is the first time to perform in Raaja sir's concert for both of them...

Very happy to see Amritavarshini playing for the Maestro. Both siblings have come a long way and are amply talented. This is probably second female flautist to play for IR, given that one Ms. Ninke, a Dutch flautist, has played for IR, in songs like Puththam pudhu kaalai (Alaigal Oivadhillai - 1981). Thanks for both the videos; this program (a part of G20?) was not even available in the Chinmaya Mission channel. ~ 2:30 That part of the Pallavi Anupallavi's (1983 Kannada Movie) Title Score does not sound look like it was there in the original. Maybe, it was "extended" and composed by IR for this program. Always a greater pleasure to listen to live renditions of his Background Scores and purely instrumental music from his troupe.

Whose version? Unmistakably, it's the version, by none other than Isaignani himself. For, he vehemently forbids even a single Note of his to be improvised, by anyone, who so ever, may he be.
His music is not limited to any generation. Maestro is Maestro.

Ohhhhhhh..... That's the magic of our Raja sir; he always gives me goosebumps whenever I listen to this epic piece, even though it's aged 39 but feels so fresh now too.

If audience keep their applause and whistles till the end of the song performance , it’s more enjoyable for almost all of Maestro concerts, audience are missing out on nuances and the finer details of Maestro’s original work and the musicians performing them live with so much dedication. It may be due to the way most of the music fans are tuned to the foot tapping rhythms or the emotions that are instantly triggered by his music, Perhaps announcing at the beginning of the concert to keep all the appreciations (that produce additional sounds in the form of applause and whistle) to the end of each performance might help the audience to understand.

The song seems to be Mella Mella (Vaazhkai) but I haven't heard the musical portions in between.
This was a background score for Maniratnam's first film Pallavi Anupallavi - Kannada movie...there are couple more themes that are just awesome
