I literally cried when I heard the news about Thurmun Munson. And always think the way Thurmon played. I grew up with Thurman in age. HOF in the minds of all. We still love him

What makes Kobe’s death worse is the fact that his little daughter was with him and 7 other people 😢

Go back to ‘79 when the Yankees and Orioles had to play that every same night once they buried Thurman Munson. And like damn Singy can explain what happened to the night they played the day they buried Munson. This is also respect to the AL East rivalry. Not only it for Thurman Munson it goes to the rest of the MLB. Even on the opposite side of the Yankees the Orioles cry also due to the high level competition and they clearly missed out on the rivalry of the Yankees and Orioles’

Just noticed the video is 8 minutes and 24 seconds Kobe Bryants Jersey Numbers. I grew up an Allen Iverson fan with my brother and we both loved watching basketball especially when they played against each other. I'm so hurt by this tragedy none of the victims deserved to go not just kobe and gigi but damn man this hurt me so bad and I'm still not over it R.I.P. Kobe Gigi and the 7 other victims taken.

Very sad all around. When I first heard the Twitter posts on Sunday, I was thinking to myself, this can’t be right and then the reports later confirming the worst on Kobe, it brought me back to Munson’s fatal crash in 79. Kobe’s crash shook me to the core. I didn’t watch TV for several hours, just looking at the reports on social media, I was numb and shaking.
As for Munson, this is something I’ve always contended for a long time, had he lived, I really felt they would have won two more championships in 1980 and again in 1981. In 1980, I don’t think they lose to Kansas City the way they did in that ALCS and you could see how much the Yankees missed Munson in that series. He was clutch in those 3 previous ALCS v KC
I sure as hell don’t believe, as good as Philadelphia was, that the Yankees experience in the World Series having been in 3 of the last 4 WS, would’ve been the difference vs Philly. I think the Phillies would have had no answer for Munson.
In 1981, the Yankees would not blown a 2-0 lead v LA like they did. Munson would make sure of that and also, he would come clutch again.
Kobe’s untimely death is our generation’s Thurman Munson only on a much larger scale. I’ll dare say, this is our generation’s JFK.
