Wow Jeff you just saved me. I've spent 3 months dealing with my 2006 Expedition draining my battery. I though I had a loose ground, couldn't figure out WHAT was draining the battery, Tested my alternator, etc. I even went so far as to have the car towed to a repair shop and they said it was a poor battery connection, which I doubted, but they recharged the battery and it started. I charged it so many times I got a new battery thinking it was simply time. Drove it for 3-4 days this past week and then let it sit for a couple days (not my everyday vehicle). This morning the NEW battery was completely drained so.... once again I started recharging it and started scratching my head yet AGAIN. AUGH.

Thank you so much! After weeks of having to keep my brand new group 65 diehard on a charger to keep it alive I saw your video went out to my Expedition and could immediately feel heat around the wiper motor. It's been so frustrating. Cheers!

Been dealing with the same issue with my Explorer. I had my battery and alternator checked at the parts store today and they were good to go. Started an on line search and ran into your video. Ran out and connected my battery, stuck my ear against my hatch where the wiper motor is and BINGO every 30-40 seconds it clicks on. Thank you Sir !!!!

Dude!!!! Thank you so much for posting this, I had the exact issue and this is what fixed it. I was able to manually move the wiper down and now the current draw is gone. Thank you!!!!!

No problem, my friend! The 20 amp fuse is just above the 38 amp fuse. Common mistake. I found my problem with fuse # 21.

I have the 2012 Lincoln Navigator, so the Navigator and Expedition have the exact same rear lift window mechanism and wiper mechanism.

Thanks a ,million, this was the problem of my battery drain. Pulled fuse and heard the clicking when I put back in. I just forced the wiper to the down position and shut the window and clicking stopped. Now I just gotta get a new transmission for it or see if I can loosen it up. My fuse number was 28 on a 04 expedition.

yes thank you for having this issue as weird as it sounds. I have only been able to find bad motor issues but never the transmission seized up. our 04s seized up, lucky in the rest position so no battery draw, but won't work other wise. also the small splines on it and wiper arm were stripped so also needed new wiper arm. glad to see if wasn't nuts telling the part store guys the motor is fine but the shaft through window was seized haha

Had a similar issue, ended up being a bad passenger door lock actuator. Not exactly sure why, or what position command would set it off. couldn't unlock the door with the electronic push button. replaced the door actuator and no drain. had also in the past had issues with the rear windshield wiper not being able to completely rotate, it would draw down as well but more drastically. two different issues but same symptoms.

Exact same issue on my 2009 Ford Escape. Mechanic said that there was over a 10 amp draw on his tester and burned out his fuse. Apparently a very common problem.
