This is by far the greatest BBQ/ father &son videos I’ve had the pleasure of watching. Mr. Parker raised a great son, and Zack you have honored your dad.
I lost my dad too and now I am running his school and I can totally understand the feeling . May he rest in peace . it's us who carry his name forward and stick to his teaching :)
For people who are confused, this short film is about ONE son, interviewed at different times. There are clips of him before his father passed and the boy was just 14, and again after his father passed, when he's all grown up and taken over his father's business.
Galactic123 IF you need to shit, but also need to shower, if you're confused as to what to do, it's best to take a shit first, then shower. But remember dont flush the toilet if you've got bad water pressure, as the shower will scald the hair off your arse cheeks. Cheers.
Love this place. They have their act together at the register too. Take your order, workers get it like an assembly line, hand it to you as you're paying. It's that fast. We live about 35 miles from Lexington, but I drove there just 3 days ago just to eat at Scott's BBQ and straight back home. It's seriously that good. And also, their chicken is amazing too. Sooooo tender and full of flavor.
My Dad passed when I was young, I could not answer the questions he has been able too. I really appreciate his outlook on like and hope one day I can speak of my Father without breaking down.
This is a beautiful piece and, I believe, it highlights some of the things I truly love about being southern and more specifically being from Tennessee. God bless Tennessee, the Vols, my grown baby girls and my daddy (and of course God bless you too)
Woozlewuzzleable come on that was touching and I'm not a softy... the legacy of family and the passing down of tradition from father to son. Man that got to me. Beautiful stuff
Watching this video reminds me when I was cooking in the ARMY, and we had to make BBQ sauce we had to make it fresh scratch and no ready made stuff but it was good for me to learn and it's not really hard to make and I got compliments on as I found all the little secrets from the SOUTHERN COOK'S
This is so heartwarming and really well done! :) I especially loved that slo-mo shot of the coals being poured inside the grills (I guess you could call them grills?:O). Fab. :)
This is quite a video about BBQ. Regardless of where you live, Carolinas or Texas where I live, BBQ is labor intensive. I appreciate all of it and the labor and apprenticeship required for the delicious greatness
it would be so mind blowing if in the end of the video eater let nick solares gave an opinion about this bussiness legacy and what the Pork BBQ should be~
This place has me turned around. Scott's BBQ is the legend Rodney Scott of SC. Parker's BBQ is Parker's in Greenville, NC. Lexington is the so-called "BBQ capital of the world" Lexington, NC. Anyway, such a wonderful story. Excellent video. 👍
Now that was nice clip. Good to see young people continuing their fathers job.
Love their work ethic and their love of the job. Wish I could try their BBQ. Unfortunately, I'm in Canada...
Jani Voutilainen Agreed.
ro pro, you can always fly down there or take a roadtrip
“If you take the work out of it is it worth doing? Not to me it’s not.” This kid summed up what his core values are, man what a good son.

Hands down the best video Eater has ever uploaded to RUclips. Quite possibly the best video about BBQ on the internet. Bravo!
Southern simplicity is just an amazing thing. Glad I got some South Georgia in me.
what a beautiful story! thank you, Eater
That kid is years ahead of his time great parents

Thanks! I WAS confused! This is so worth watching, even if you don't want to make barbeque. And what a wondetful dad, and a wonderful son.
I was confused. Thanks
Now this is America. These are people that have been here and work hard.

The literal definition of passion
This is by far the best video I have watched at Eater and the emotion and passion in it is beyond my words. Well done.
Eater your content is just getting better and better.
I think some of these videos are in partnership with Southern Foodways Alliance
I envy this man for having his life all together, meaning he knew what he wanted to do since a young boy, with heart and passion. Great story
tradition is a double edged word. it defines the standard but stifles innovations.
My Dad passed when I was young, I could not answer the questions he has been able too. I really appreciate his outlook on like and hope one day I can speak of my Father without breaking down.
This actually made me tear up a little bit on the inside. Great vid! And I'm confident your dad is very proud of you!

Zach had a great work ethic as a child and it's seen him well in his future. His Dad would be very proud of him.

Wonderful story.

Very interesting slice of life. Nice work Eater.
"Taste better than pizza and Taco Bell! I'll tell you that."
Wow! The fist time that comments on a eater video that isn't cancer.
I. Ionas is it the platonic ideal comment section?
No, but its funkier than i expected. But still, unfortunately, its not platonic.

I'd hope a BBQ place would be better than pizza hut and taco bell 😭😂
Love the accent.

Make your dad even prouder, surpass him, not just keeping his legacy.
He did surpass him. The place has elevated way more than him or his father ever expected. I think his dad would be proud of him just the same.
sorry great video
Southern BBQ is really sth. I hope to try some when I'm down in the south one day. Where should I start ??
it would be so mind blowing if in the end of the video eater let nick solares gave an opinion about this bussiness legacy and what the Pork BBQ should be~

Nice
Do it the hard way yes BUT, if the easier way results in the same product do it that way.
