I’ve done my check valve in the past. To do it over again I’d extend a pipe up and put the valve up where it’s easier to get to, then make a new copper line to the shut-off.
Did you reuse your old check valve or did you find a bushing to be able to use the new one? If so, did just just grab it from the plumbing section at the hardware store? Thanks!
U bought someone's issues..you need to call I.R.. for the right parts..not some china..stuff..I would also reamend a magnetic starter for your unit..IR.. cuts the bottom line if that's a 5 hp.unit..any electrician would say you need one if it's pulling 20 to 50 amps..this helps the pressure switch..do it's job..My 3hp.220v unit came with a magnetic starter,2 stage ..that pumps up to 175 p.s.i. the starter runs around 300 buck..plus the install..an hr..to install..I wouldn't steer you wrong..I belive that's part of your problem..as well..with to unit...i.r. has issues with there pressure switchs..and motors.. they won't admit it.. u might have those issues with yours ...but adding the starter will protect the pressure switch..from damage...ok..that's my advice..from working on comprsoirs..in the past..ty.
You need to watch the rest of the videos. I paid $200 for the unit. The tank alone cost more than that. And I fixed it basically for free. I would do it over again 100 times over.
@@travcon8 I sometimes wonder if people watch the whole video. When you see how fresh the cylinder walls are, you can see plainly that the pump has very little if any time on it.

That's exactly what I did. I went to the hardware store for the bushing. I called IR, they didn't have a clue what I was talking about.
Is the compressor no longer struggling after installing new check valve? Just curious
It ended up being the reed valve plate. Been running great ever since.
Oh, you bought it used ok.

Ig sucks booooooo
oh it was not new.... so who knows how many hours it has on it.
The guy I bought it from said it never worked. You can see from the condition of the cylinder walls, it had very little run time.
Looks pretty new to me. I bought a quincy. The made in India pump on the Ingersoll rand killed it for me.

@@travcon8 We have a couple of these at work, one has a India pump and the other some other country, they are the same model about a year apart. .
@@bobroberts2371 Yeah I was a big fan of Ingersoll rand until they started outsourcing.
