He's fantastic, incredible! He shows the splendid potential of my favorite instrument. Thanks Yuen-Suo Yang and ChaeKyung Moon. May God bless you with long life and prosperity.
SO AWESOME. Perhaps the best sound I've ever heard come out of a bass clarinet. Perfect tone; almost impossibly clean, with double helpings of that wonderfully smooth, mellow, "earthy" clarinet timbre.
I cried... :') this is so beautiful. I've played bass for a little while, and I'm not even close to 1 millionth of a quarter as good s him. But, he's made me set a knew goal. N I'm gonna work every day has hard has he did, to become amazing like this [:
i could never approach bass clarinet with so much confidence! it would take me months to get the courage to try something this challenging on the bass. congratulations!!!
I loved it. I've tried woodwinds from recorder to (French) bassoon, and am duly impressed. But I could imagine spending quite some time and effort to get to know the piano player.
Hey Dennis... nice to hear from you! This is a Bass Clarinet. and If you want to hear my "real" clarinet performance you will have to see other videos of mine... good luck on your moving...
Next time somebody tells me the only thing a Bass Clarinet is good for in the bass line in a woodwind ensemble I'm referring him to this. I give this an infinite amount of stars.
WOW! i'm a dedicated bass clarinet player currently looking to invest in a new professional instrument. What model bass clarinet do you use here? What is your mouthpiece + ligature combination? Why do you choose to use a low Eb model here instead of a low C?
that's the amazing thing about music. if you truly stick to that goal, some day you could write a piece of music that just reaches out and grabs someone like this one did you.
@fullonfatty you can be.. just get with a good teacher and practice 2 hours daily. trust me if you do that then one day you will be on stage playing this peice. the talent is in you and i believe you will master the instrument.
very good!. i also recommend musically to work a bit on intonation on the high notes(i know its hard) and that if you are already using the bass clarinet you can exploit its charcter even more when you have low notes, it sounded a bit like they are being silent rather then present.. great job, !
i dont particularly like the piece but it exploits a really opposite side of what mst think the bass clarinet is. its a wonderful instrument. this shows just how flexible it is. but i dont exactly like the piece xD
WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BE SO GREAT? HE SOUNDS amazing.
He's fantastic, incredible! He shows the splendid potential of my favorite instrument. Thanks Yuen-Suo Yang and ChaeKyung Moon. May God bless you with long life and prosperity.
Excellent performance, and a beautiful tone on the bass clarinet!

I am absolutely dumbfounded at how he can play this amazingly. FANTASTIC!
音色が好きです。
一目惚れ(人聞惚れ?)しました
Why are there only five stars available for ratings? This guy deserves at least fourty two!
Wow, great tone.great piano playing too.

FANTASTIC pianist
The upper register sounds positively divine. Well done, sir!
This is such a fun concerto to play on the bass, I know that from playing it myself. You've done a good job with it!
i could never approach bass clarinet with so much confidence! it would take me months to get the courage to try something this challenging on the bass. congratulations!!!

This could be one of the most awesome videos on youtube ....
I loved it. I've tried woodwinds from recorder to (French) bassoon, and am duly impressed. But I could imagine spending quite some time and effort to get to know the piano player.
Amazing!
brilliant, both bass clarinettist and pianist (and page turner :) )

@dsjlj40 thanks for the comment, I use a very light reed (vndrn 3) and I take in a lot of mouthpiece... lots of air:)
great staccato and tone!
Hey, that was nice!
Good job!
I love his rich sound! It reminds me of the sound of Lawrie Bloom!
I don't believe it... You're wonderful!
There's no way you could play better :D
wow....just...wow
this is so catchy and I want to play so where can I get the music?
Nice job
Next time somebody tells me the only thing a Bass Clarinet is good for in the bass line in a woodwind ensemble I'm referring him to this. I give this an infinite amount of stars.
His tone quality is amazing.
also what a great pianist!
Had this been on clarinet, that alone would have been impressive. But bass clarinet?
That, my friend, is talent.
Great sound!
I wonder what kind of mouthpiece and what brand and bore of bass clarinet that he's using?
nice nice!
WOW ive never seen a bass clarinetist play that fast.... i myself play the B flat clarinet but wow... thts all i can say... .
pretty good
@Scandalous2610 Same here! LOL i love this piece
Thanks for your compliment!
Actually... he is from Taiwan..
@lookingatthisnow
Hi, it's a Buffet Low Eb with Selmer C* MP :)
잘하네

i play bass clarinet i wish i could be as good as that!
how do u get your fingers to move that fast ?
@lookingatthisnow We know it's not a Selmer USA :)
I was going to give 5 stars but misstyped the keyboard!
It was outstanding!
Why does he sound this amazing and I sound like crap on my bass clarinet?! TELL ME WORLD!!
I guess he just woke up one morning and said, "I think I'll play Weber on bass!" Definitely something you don't hear every day......
where do can you get the score?
one time I don't like about bass clarinet is that, when played standing, the bell is at the groin area. XD
that's the amazing thing about music. if you truly stick to that goal, some day you could write a piece of music that just reaches out and grabs someone like this one did you.
Okay.
@fullonfatty you can be.. just get with a good teacher and practice 2 hours daily. trust me if you do that then one day you will be on stage playing this peice. the talent is in you and i believe you will master the instrument.
dude....i'm calling the cops.....this is too good to be legal....
God I'd never be able to do this on my Bass Clarinet.
Skaggerzz lol same mind is 45 years old and basically dead
Damn it, why are koreans so good at music
@dsjlj40 HAHAH I KNOW
very good!. i also recommend musically to work a bit on intonation on the high notes(i know its hard) and that if you are already using the bass clarinet you can exploit its charcter even more when you have low notes, it sounded a bit like they are being silent rather then present..
great job, !
How is this even possible?
As in you don't know the fingerings or as in your register key doesn't work?
Strange,but not bad...
thats a normal size bass clarinet. LOL @Jarrettina Smithinna
i dont particularly like the piece but it exploits a really opposite side of what mst think the bass clarinet is. its a wonderful instrument. this shows just how flexible it is. but i dont exactly like the piece xD
He's Taiwanese...
Well done!
