Just a wonderful presentation! I have always been curious about this man because of his Harlem collection but I knew there was much more to discover. Many thanks.
Thanks, that was excellent. I just googled how the work of each has been valued by the art market and for Siskind, 'the record price for this artist at auction is 81,250 USD for Terrors and Pleasures of Levitation' in 2020. It is an image from a series of diving figures I was not familiar with - and yet the emphasis on a graphic shape with tonal contrast you describe is still evident. And as for the highest price at auction for a Kline - $40,402,500
Fascinating juxtaposition! Before Siskind, Brassaï also photographed graffiti, but not to the extent that Siskind did. Very interesting that Siskind and Kline were friends. You can easily imagine ideas bouncing back and forth between them!
Wonderful presentation, very informative & interesting! Both Kline & Siskind were way ahead of the creative curve!
Hi Jeffrey It was such a powerful period for art.
Remarquable !❤ Merci

Hi Pete We are the poor relatives...but having said that $81000 would be just fine.
Thanks for sharing 🙂

One of my favorite painters.
I have been revisiting my enjoyment of Siskind’s work recently and this video was very informative. Thank you so much for your effort and sharing.

Thanks for the great video
I am curious. Have you taught at the university level? You certainly could.
Hi Jim I appreciate that comment. No, it seems that you have to have a Masters degree to teach at university.
