I guess what happened at the bissara place, the man wanted to show hospitality by giving you extra olive oil, in Morocco we really really value olive oil, some of us even buy huge amounts of it (Yearly) and gives some to the neighbors as a gift .. Usually you won't get that thick layer of olive oil on your bissara but i tell you what, any Moroccan would have appreciated it!
A very enjoyable video. I've been to Marrakech many times since 1991 , another visit is coming up soon.I will watch your video again and make notes! The freshly squeezed pomegranate juice and ginger spiced tea are very healthy.

I loved ur video man !! Just one tip tho, that crepe u ate isn't called crepe & it's not french at all, it a traditional Moroccan bread called Msemmen or Malwi, as u said it's nothing like a crepe !! 15:00 that paste is called "sellou" or "sfouf" or also "zamita" , it's a mixture of flour, honey, butter, olive oil, wilde spices & a big portion of crushed nuts with a bunch of other weird spices, it gives an instant energy boost and it's very healthy !!
Loved the video !! btw for the Bissara or any other dish you can definitely ask the man to not put too much oil or sugar...no one will be mad because too much love can hurt :D :D Welcome to Morocco!!

Greetings.. If you liked the sweets from the stalls in Jemma el Fna Square, you should visit Pastiseria Gato for the truly exquisite ones, where they are made in an artisanal way, they use almonds instead of peanuts, less industrial flours and honey instead. of refined sugar. The result is exquisite sweets, yes, they are more expensive, but you know, quality has a price...
Where in the world you can eat and drink all that for $20 ? Only in morocco. Plus it's fresh . Organic .I'm a Moroccan in USA was born in marrakech. Watching this video brings me back memories .

Just discovered your channel today, looking for inspo. I have always wanted to visit Morocco, but I feel kinda intimidated as a female, it has the same ambiance as Egypt and Turkey. It could also be just me, and I will need to collect more courage. Anyways, thank you for sharing your journey, really enjoyed watching.
You will never regret it. I'm from the south of Morocco welcome anytime this time of the year is perfet away from the hustle of the summer seasoon hehehe
As a Moroccan living abroad and just coming back from Morocco I can tell you this. I spent 3 weeks over there with my wife and 2 toddlers. Traveled to different cities with public transportation and Marrakech was one of them. I never felt unsafe. In my home country (Belgium) on the other hand you can't be on the street at midnight. If you stay away from dark alleys you should be good. I liked that there were police everywhere you go. It really increases the safety feeling.
I am going to Marrakech (solo female traveler) for the 1st time, for my birthday, in just under 2 weeks, and I found your video really enjoyable to watch - even though I've already done a ton of research, this video very was helpful & encouraging! 🙌 I am really looking forward to my trip and trying all the wonderful food! I have done a lot of solo travelling around the world, but I am a little nervous about the harrasment I may face in Marrakech (I am staying in the medina so that I can do everything on foot). I will be wearing long sleeves and long pants and of course respect the culture while I'm there, but I'm still a little worried. I've read/watched a lot about the performers putting snakes around your neck and women drawing henna on your hand, even if you don't ask for any of it, and then force you to pay them... I find this to be a real shame - I understand they're trying to make a living and they see tourists as rich, but treating tourists like idiots isn't a good thing for the industry or Morocco's reputation. I speak fluent French and a few arabic words, so I should be ok - I think it's very important to be polite and respect the culture of the country you visit as you are a guest there, but I just hope I can enjoy my time because I've saved up a lot to go away (& to get away from my country haha) and it would be counter-productive to return home more stressed! Thanks again for the video - I have a long list of traditional dishes to try ☺ If anyone could share any tips or advice or wisdom about the aforementioned nervousness about harrassment, I'd be really grateful because I really want to embrace the culture and I'm sure that the majority of people there are lovely (I had Moroccan friends many years ago when I lived in Spain and they were very friendly)... 🙏
