WEST BUTTERWICK ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: - Google Maps has the post office marked in the wrong place which is why I couldn't find it. It's actually located in the chapel and is a "pop-up" post office. - West Butterwick had a henge-like feature - a circular ring ditch with four gaps aligned approximately to the main compass points N-S-E-W around 30m in diameter. The owners of the land on which the henge feature lies have confirmed there is now nothing visible from the ground. - Axgro Foods Ltd is a family owned company based in West Butterwick. Primarily food production, its products include both chilled and frozen potato specialties - Pilgrim House was run by William Henry Pilgrim when it was a shop - On the drive, I passed the original Post Office and shop opposite the school playground which used to serve hot sandwiches. - The village was also home to Modern Products that produced small children’s amusement rides that were sent all around the world.
The fleet was/is outside my house, it means our flower beds have lovely soil and the building across from it is fleet farm :) -theres quite a few other little gems in the village, one of them a nice walk on the back paths that runs in a nice circuit! Good to see the video :)
Posted by Bob Fish. Andy - for the Trentside villages it was easier to be 'neighbours' across the river. The riverside pathways and causeways rendered it difficult to move from Keadby to West Butterwick to Owston Ferry. West and East Butterwick held annual regattas and would moor a boat in the middle if the Trent on which a band would entertain spectators. The closing event saw the barge being used as a base for the firework display.

I live down south now, but this takes me back to the family parties and playing bar billiards in the Three Horseshoes. Enjoyed that mate!
Thanks! More to come!

Oh wow that's brilliant info. I'm gonna be using that in Keadby/East Butterwick episodes! Thanks Robert!

Ta for that Richard :)
Thanks for visiting. Did you find the Post Office next to the Chapel?
No. It was odd. The map shows the post office to be up near Mill Farm.
I did wonder if the map was wrong.
@@TheVillageIdiot Hi, it's just inside the Chapel as bit of a 'pop up' Post Office. 👍
It's actually located in the Methodists Chapel. It only operates a few days per week.
