I don’t even like banh mi, I just like the two of these chefs. Their personalities work well together.
If my name were Rosemary Trout, I would make it a life goal to make that my signature dish js
Actually in Vietnam, we usually don't make Banh Mi that fancy. Chef King Phojanakong is right about the baguette and pate, that is the most simple kind of Banh Mi you can find in our country. More than that, we have Banh Mi Pate Trung, which is a baguette that has pate and an omelette in it, then we enhance the flavor with cilantro, etc... Or some "fancier" Banh Mi like Banh Mi Charsiu, is a baguette with herbs and pieces of roasted pork belly.
I want a Frank Episode,in which he would react to Frank related comments, like Frank still growing,farming,brewing..
As I type this, Frank is making the dirt that he'll use later to grow his vegetables.
He already called himself the Creator of Food, so he's well aware of us knowing about his Journeys through time, space, and dimensions to bring the ultimate ingredients. He couldn't come today becaise he was too busy traveling the world looking for ingredients to make the wine 5hat would become vinegar inorder to pickle his veggies.
@@jeremytaylor2784 he’s probably growing the vegetables he’ll use to compost to make that dirt good enough to grow good grass for his cattle to eat before they produce milk that he’ll turn into cultured butter tbh. Dat loooong game.
I really loved this! Both of them have such entertaining personalities, and it was really cool to see a chef get creative with basic ingredients without adding things! I also really enjoyed seeing them meet and talk at the end - it added a whole different level! I hope soon they can try each other's creations :)
Is no one gonna talk about how chef King was flexing his hot sauce😎😎😎
Rosemary Trout. That is the PERFECT name for what she does haha Love it!
Now seeing patte being made - it inspires me. There's a place near me that has a handful of different pattes - like a pork and pistachio one. Maybe time to experiment with my own bahn mi.
2:01 Emily, “ I am really relieved that I don’t have to make my own bread.”
Frank smiling as he’s not in this episode 😄
Just gonna whiks it up 😂😭
Emily is perfection
I think why I love this series so much is because it gives the pro chef the ability to show how good skills can elevate a recipe, and it gives more casual chefs the opportunity to learn those skills with premium ingredients to cultivate their skills. at the end of the day, they both make incredibly delicious food, so it's great. ❤
So is Emily a lvl 2 chef now?
Nope. She's been doing Swap for over a year. This series is not 4 Levels.
@@defaultuser1447 but Lorenzo is nothing different and he is a lvl 2?
@@lwmartinez Yes. Emily has been doing Swap for a over a year. During that time, she has appeared on 4 Levels several times as well, always as Level 1. The two series are different. There is no Level 1, 2, or 3 on Swap. Just Pro and Home.
@@defaultuser1447 i know. But whats the difference between her and Lorenzo?
@@lwmartinez On which series? On Swap, they are both Home Cooks. On 4 Levels, she's Level 1 and he's Level 2. I feel like you're hinting at a question instead of asking it.
I am living for Emily’s little yelps and “hand forks” 😂 and King is just so damn wholesome. I need a King and Saul video!
Epicurious has done more for my depression than years of therapy combined
I swear. Hugs!
Love that Emily is now a home cook! You go girl!
Emily is the definition of a beacon of joy.
It's a few months old video, just saw it.. awesome!! Dont know if Emily shot more videos for youtube but she's a natural and she's funny as hell. I'm an instant fan of her... I know I will be called a simp now...
rest in peace and power Chef King Phojanakong
Emily and Lorenzo are my favorites!
Emily has "hand forks." 😂
Me Emily"I don't know if you know this about me but I make my own mayo", at the end Emily "I have never made mayo". Gotta love Emily! Chef King, I bet you are a great teacher with a lot of patience, you worked a miracle with the ingredients you had.
I LOVE Emily!
Notice how the participants (or producers) stand the fresh herbs in water, like they are flowers. This is a great technique to use in keeping them fresher for longer in the fridge. Even better, top with the little plastic bag from the produce section to give the herbs their own little hothouse.
Banh Mi...when life gives you French colonialism you take some bread from them and use it to make a really good sandwich with amazing Vietnamese flavors.
I’m thrilled to see Vietnamese cuisine to appear on Epicurious. Although it is very different from what we usually have here, but it shows that there are various version around the globe.
@@doodahgurlie the unique thing about Vietnamese banh mi is that the bread is hollow, the bread is the Banh mi, it holds the filling. The filling doesn’t matter, you can put anything you desired. For the record, it only cost $1 for a Banh mi in Vietnam.
I want the pork version more than the duck version. King makes it look better.
Love the chemistry between these two sweet people
