Just want to comment on the bread they use. Though the baguette is great for banh mi, It is not baguette that we use to make banh mi in Vietnam. I think the bread we use in Vietnam is often mistake with baguette because the it was influenced by the French baguette when France colonized Vietnam. Texture wise, it is a lot different from baguette. The exterior is more rough and flaky and the interior is not as dense as the baguette.

Love this! Keep developing!
Ok we need a King and Lorenzo episode. Make them do their own versions of Kare-kare or Adobo or Sinigang.
Me Emily"I don't know if you know this about me but I make my own mayo", at the end Emily "I have never made mayo". Gotta love Emily! Chef King, I bet you are a great teacher with a lot of patience, you worked a miracle with the ingredients you had.
Let them try each other dishes for future videos
Just want to comment on the bread they use. Though the baguette is great for banh mi, It is not baguette that we use to make banh mi in Vietnam. I think the bread we use in Vietnam is often mistake with baguette because the it was influenced by the French baguette when France colonized Vietnam. Texture wise, it is a lot different from baguette. The exterior is more rough and flaky and the interior is not as dense as the baguette.
Now seeing patte being made - it inspires me. There's a place near me that has a handful of different pattes - like a pork and pistachio one. Maybe time to experiment with my own bahn mi.
This is great! I see others commenting that the professional chefs need to stop bringing in extra ingredients further to what they are supplied with, and I fully agree. Any skilled chef should be able to take the simplest ingredients and turn them into something extraordinary.
Emily is the definition of a beacon of joy.
I think why I love this series so much is because it gives the pro chef the ability to show how good skills can elevate a recipe, and it gives more casual chefs the opportunity to learn those skills with premium ingredients to cultivate their skills. at the end of the day, they both make incredibly delicious food, so it's great. ❤
Epicurious has done more for my depression than years of therapy combined
I swear. Hugs!
I’d love to see a spin-off series of pro chef vs pro chef where each chef tries to recreate the other’s dish.
King trimming the pork fat to make his own lard made me realize how easily I can make my own schmaltz or tallow.
I trim off fat from my chicken so meticulously and then toss it. Why did I never realize???
It's a few months old video, just saw it.. awesome!! Dont know if Emily shot more videos for youtube but she's a natural and she's funny as hell. I'm an instant fan of her... I know I will be called a simp now...
If my name were Rosemary Trout, I would make it a life goal to make that my signature dish js
Emily and Lorenzo are my favorites!
I want a Frank Episode,in which he would react to Frank related comments, like Frank still growing,farming,brewing..
As I type this, Frank is making the dirt that he'll use later to grow his vegetables.
He already called himself the Creator of Food, so he's well aware of us knowing about his Journeys through time, space, and dimensions to bring the ultimate ingredients. He couldn't come today becaise he was too busy traveling the world looking for ingredients to make the wine 5hat would become vinegar inorder to pickle his veggies.
@@jeremytaylor2784 he’s probably growing the vegetables he’ll use to compost to make that dirt good enough to grow good grass for his cattle to eat before they produce milk that he’ll turn into cultured butter tbh. Dat loooong game.
as a Vietnamese, so lucky to see Chef King turn our simple bánh mì into a master piece
"19$ banh mi"
Old Quarter street side grandma with her 20 cent banh mi: "Pathetic."
I love this episode, it has such good vibes and deliciousness to it! Love, love this pairing!
Yes Emily the truest of home cook does this need ketchup... Who cares lol
In Vietnam 🇻🇳 we can make a BÁNH MÌ cause about 0.75$ or even 0.5$. If you use that 19$ to buy bánh mì in Vietnam, you can buy at least 40 bánh mì
Maybe it’s just me but super disappointed they didn’t try each others dishes
Best show in the entire series! Emily is incredible. She is legit Level 2 with her f'ing homemade mayo and FLAMBE! King is just amazing. He did some serious magic with regular ingredients. And of course Rose is wonderful at explaining things.
Just stellar all around. Thank you for making this!
Is no one gonna talk about how chef King was flexing his hot sauce😎😎😎
I love Emily, she’s great in these.
So is Emily a lvl 2 chef now?
Nope. She's been doing Swap for over a year. This series is not 4 Levels.
@@defaultuser1447 but Lorenzo is nothing different and he is a lvl 2?
@@lwmartinez Yes. Emily has been doing Swap for a over a year. During that time, she has appeared on 4 Levels several times as well, always as Level 1. The two series are different. There is no Level 1, 2, or 3 on Swap. Just Pro and Home.
@@defaultuser1447 i know. But whats the difference between her and Lorenzo?
@@lwmartinez On which series? On Swap, they are both Home Cooks. On 4 Levels, she's Level 1 and he's Level 2. I feel like you're hinting at a question instead of asking it.
"It's happening again, it's happening again!" Love the Bridesmaids reference!!💛💜
