should have been the official video so you can see those sick dance moves
The killing joke tobias really got some moves😩
The killing joke I was so sad when it wasn’t our boy Copia dancing for vin and sori... they really missed out
Would you say it's dance macabre?
@@infernum6079 except it wasn't him dancing it was a stand-in
T Bone it’s just a joke calm down
Damn, you guys missed out on some killer dance choreography.
Slim Brady i know!! Wish they had watched the video
I'm not sure Vin would of got a kick out of Twinkle toes
I agree you guys need to go back and watch the video off camera.
They've missed out on a lot of great Ghost videos: He Is, Cirice, Square Hammer, Year Zero. Some people might not like their music but their videos are always top notch and on point; Rats is probably my favorite though. It's kinda weird seeing them perform Rats live without the Cardinal dancing lol
idk he might, its pretty impressive. It's almost like a modern-day version of the Thriller video, at least thats what it reminds me of. He would probably appreciate the hidden meaning behind the dancing if someone told him.
Tobias (Cardinal Copia/Papa) confirmed that the song is more a reflection of social media and the world we currently live in. Also an obvious connection to the Plague, which the album is themed around.
Yeah I think the lyrics are vague enough to be interpreted on a variety of issues. The common theme seems to be that in "times of turmoil" - in our weakest moments - we tend to be most open to let malign forces into our lives whether it is dangerous belief systems, drugs or some other malign force. Of course the perspective of what a malign force is can be very different depending on the person.
Pretty obviously about the old members aswell..
Kannibalk0cken yuuuuuup. That lawsuit was really a big influence in this album.
Interesting interpretation. Makes sense. Smart lyrics.
yea, you can ''hear it'' (in lack of better words) in moest of the songs.
Vin & Sori, according to singer & founder of Ghost, Tobias Forge, Lyrically, the song is about humanity's tendency to rush to judgement and mob mentality.
"In many ways, [humanity has] gone back a few steps, because now it's closer to how it was back in the old days when people were standing at the square and all of a sudden, it's like in Monty Python's Life of Brian: 'Stone him! Ra! Ra! Ra!' Public trials are very unsupervised and extremely swift and speak to the most primordial parts of us...It's actually not technically about rodents, it's about something spreading as wildfire and completely destroying things quicker than you know. It was how the plague started in Europe.
Well put! There are also comparisons to The Plague by Albert Camus, which used the same analogy about the Nazi occupation of France.
So you mean to say in all the years nothing's changed. I congratulate you; Captain obvious your assessment is as bland as coffee or a red bull in the morning.
Exactly, why The Lord told us we should not be judges! The song "Suare Hammer" is all about foundation, which as a carpenter/His Father's right hand man/a builder (John1:1), The Lord would be familiar with, would He not?
Rats, considered a crack in the foundation, also snakes and vipers.
Yea, taking it as an explicit attack on Christianity was a wild take.
Spot on !!!!
The song is about the Bubonic plague. The whole album is a Middle Ages themed time piece, and how the Church was ineffective at offering solutions to these problems when everyone was inundated with confusion and fear. Essentially, Ghost is examining the point in history when man first began to break away from the superstition and scientific regression that defined the Medieval Ages; during which the Vatican spent centuries telling the masses the answer to everything could be found through the Church alone.
When those answers weren't actually found there, European man began the process of pursuing science in order to better understand the natural world. It began with alchemy, followed by the increased literacy rates the Renaissance produced, which led to the Age of Enlightenment, and eventually culminated in the Industrial Revolution.
But the impetus for it all was the Bubonic Plague. A cataclysm so apocalyptic it shook the foundations of everything Medieval Europe was founded upon.
The lyrics are actually talking about the black plague the whole album centers around it you should check out faith off this same album
Not only, lol. He uses the theme as a palette for metaphores. Clever lyrics, as usual.
DaP84 oh i know lol
The song is about the former band members that are lawsuing Tobias Forge.
There is multiple meanings here.. Its satan got what he wanted and is dancing in the rubble. is what i first got from it
Emil Ahlström eehhhh idk about all that.. Explain
if you guys ever get the chance to see these guys live i HIGHLY reccomend it. Probably one of the best frontmen and theatrics in modern music to date.
100% I'm going to the Chicago ritual next Friday, it will be my third one, I absolutely cannot wait to hear Hunter's Moon live.
The music video is pretty awesome.
Yeah, it's great haha
The abandoned airplane
Awesome video. I just discovered this band 2 weeks ago. Im sooo pissed i been missin out. Great stuff
Zenith! I'm gonna keep trying! Lol
Can't wait for Zenith and Jigolo Had megiddo
YES! Zenith is ❤
And Secular Haze. And Ghuleh / Zombie Queen.
Fuck yeah, please make this happen !
I'd say it some of ghost best work zenith
That song is pure awesomeness! I've never gotten bored of it, it's got so much tunes in it. It's too damn good! It sounds pretty and heavy at the same time, Don't all ghost songs do?
He didn’t single out Christianity. He was talking about religion in general.
alexfrank6534 I think its cause for people who dont follow ghost and have listened to all their music and done their research. Which yes it's not hard to do research what else you gonna do free time! Anyways for those who just scratch the surface like Vin & Sori which yes they listen to alot of the big songs, but that's pretty much it. This song is about alot of things, but to them it felt like a targeted song towards christianity. Which I dont personally think it's the case here.
alexfrank6534 meh you can pretend like it is and say it on paper but you know that's not true.. you know very well their aiming at Christianity
George Bedrin. Maybe, maybe not. All i am saying is the lyrics apply to ALL religions.
Nice Golden Knights avatar btw
But Christians feel they're somehow under attack these days.
Ghost's go-to target for their controversial lyrics are typically Christians, and I think he's definitely playing with that dynamic to push the intrigue of the album's themes. However, the direct target of this song, along with several other tracks from this album, are his former bandmates that have been pulling him in and out of court over money issues surrounding their participation in the band and what they feel they are owed for their time with Ghost. In fact, it's those lawsuits that outed Papa Emeritus/Cardinal Copia's real identity, Tobias Forge. He's made it clear through various interviews that this album is an allegory about the impact those events have had on his life and Ghost. Loved this vid, guys!
Dapper Dragon he’s also said this song reflects his opinion on social media - he’s so good at layering the meanings to his lyrics. So clever
Clare Hardy I couldn't agree more!
Ghost-Pro Memoria!! “Lucifer, Whispering, Silently into your mind”
They should really do a reaction to that one :D
Don't you forget about dying... Don't you forget about your friend death. Don't you forget that you will die... ha!
WHO WALKS BEHIIIIIIND
Y'all should have a full album review for this! The album, "Prequelle" is themed about the plague and death. The music is more like 80s stadium metal. There's two instrumentals on it too that are pretty great.
Doug Ray i agree the whole album rocks
THIS SONG IS ABOUT THE BLACK PLAGUE
You know a quick google search before the song would help SO MUCH it drives me crazyPlease Guys Please Guys
Edit: Try Babymetal: Give me chocolate
Would love to hear the reaction to that lol
Evl _1 I prefer a genuine reaction without prior research but to each their own
Blake Billman I understand but they seem to think every song has anti-Christian undertones Don’t have to do a lot But look at What is this song about and stop But you are right to each their own Hope you have a Fantastic Day
Edit was that it left off Day
Yes Sir! That’s more of what the song Faith is about
@@Evl_1Absolutely agree. Like it gets reeeeeally tiresome that literally EVERY song they react to they ALWAYS somehow make it as an "attack against Christians" or "Against Christianity"🙄. They're soooo one sided wearing blinders that they could take the Happy Birthday song & manage to make it about it's an attack again Christians & Christianity
Welp you can probably lump religion into this,? But I take the song as a commentary on our society in general. We live in a time of snap judgments that go viral without any examination of causality
Charlie Keeler ya like the rampant everyone's a racist , and if your a trump supporter your sexist misogynist, transphobic gay hating white supremacist.. like for example the radical left calling milo yianopolis a white supremacist when he is a flighty gay white man married to.a black man .. all im pointing out is how society just explodes with elevated remarks of disdain abouy people that have skewed views from theirs idc if its left or right, like everyone should be able to talk to everyone even when disagreed be able to respect the person with different views, but to many try to take political points and cultural points and try to individualize it amongst the singular persons but you cant sat one viewpoint is taken by all in one group so you should argue wirh the political core of the problem not hate the people with an opinion that leans toward that end goal ... in closing so many people are fighting eachother instead of unifying and making battle with the head of the snake
Tokem juju agreed. Modern times has made it so much easier as well. You can be anonymous and thru the various media available it can be said and done in the matter of Minutes.
Yeah I didn't take anything religious from it at all.
I think the song could mean a large variety of things concerning people's "beliefs" or general opinions on things. I believe they just saw it as Christianity because songs make everyone think of different things based on who the person is.
You need to see the video its awesome. Listening to interviews with Tobias Forge who is the I guess creator of Ghost. He said that he had a step mother that really soured him on Christianity. Focusing on the fear and the guilt and the negative points
I def feel this 100%. Was raised Catholic and it just left a sour taste in my mouth, especially when it was forced on me, and I was forced to go to church and all that shit. I was never into it growing up, and now I'm just Agnostic or something, I'm really unsure. But listening to Ghost is kind of almost liberating and therapeutic for me haha.
Wtf does that have to do with this song lol
@@johnstrika9170 its basically the theme behind allot of Ghosts music, presumably proclaiming Satan whilie vilifying every other religion thought thats my interpretation
Tobias Forge is the lead singer. And yes, the creator of the band.
As someone who doesn't have any beliefs it's really interesting listening to you guys thoughts on these things. It's cool to hear different perspectives on things and I really like that your videos arn't just reaction to a song but actual discussion on it.
Keep it up!
Thank you !
Vin and sori getting right down to it.in case it hasn't been mentioned almost every song on Prequel is a,double entandra. Rats ( for instance ) has the foward meaning. However the album was a rebuttal /big FU to Tobias (lead singer) former bandmates. In which case the "rats" are them spreading lies about his name, and the legal /other repercussions which will follow
Body and blood by ghost
Nope, enough Ghost, we need metal instead.
Alponcho 7w7 100% BODY AND BLOOD!!!
Charred They ate metal. Its stupid to think not so. They are just not that heavy.
DEFECATE!!!
Max Schreck lol
awww love when you do Ghost !!!!!! just the guy here from Iceland !! love alot Keep up your awesomeness ;D ;D; D
I'm a Christian and I am a fan of Ghost. I'm starting to get the idea that you two might be a bit of a fan of Ghost as well since y'all are getting around to reviewing songs off "Prequelle" now hahaha *High five*! On to "Faith"!
Please do "Faith" by Ghost. In my opinion it's the heaviest and best song on that new album. And I'd love to hear your interpretation of that song.
Michael Weiprecht definitely the heaviest but I don't know about the best.. I like it when I listen to it but when I'm not listening to it, it never seems to be the song stick in my head. It always "see the light" or "pro memoria" or witch image" that I find my self humming in my head. Personally I found the two instrumentals miasma and helvetesfonster to be the most interesting and moving tracks
George Bedrin I'm a big ghost fan. I already purchased tickets to see them here in my hometown (Baltimore) on December 10th. I agree with you 100%..."Faith" isn't the best song, the heaviest on that album but not the best. I really like "See the light" also, and "Witch Image". Those two songs were stuck in my head for weeks after first hearing the new album. I like all of their music, it's just that "Prequelle" has a different vibe than their other albums. It will be interesting to see and hear What's to come.
Oh dude youre gonna love it if youve never seen them before. Saw them in May up in Syracuse and it was epic AF. That was pre-Prequelle but they still played a bunch of songs from it. I do love the catchier sounds of Pequelle and Meliora over the Infestiswhatever and Opus Eponymous (which i just ordered on blue vinyl) but I am also interested to hear whats next. After all if this album was just a Prequelle then what is it a prequel for?
I think they are coming to New Orleans I'm dying to see them!
U should also check Faith, its the best song from that album
Drake Farmer miasma would beg to differ
Witch image, all the way
Miasma FTW . Vin wont even have to hear his arch nemesis sing!
I feel like my favorite song off Prequelle changes day by day
Agree
Sori's air headbanging priceless ...... \,,/ Dance Macabre \,,/
Wich air
Wow. Your Ghost reactions are my favourite. I’m a fan of them and you guys both and your analysis’ are always thoughtful and interesting. Really appreciated the stories you told here. I think it’s up to all of us, religious or non religious to care for and love each other no matter what. Because although we have differences of opinion, we’re stuck on this rock together.
Nice call by Vin as well when he pointed out that the “there’s nothing you can do” line could be Tobias tipping the hat to the contagious nature of Christianity. It gives the whole song an interesting dual meaning!
Ghost’s Prequelle in general is a very interesting album. Rats and plague are mentioned or alluded to across the entire record. Tobias himself has talked about the multiple meanings behind the concept of the album. It can be interpreted to be about religion. It can be legit about the Black Plague during medieval times which he has admitted to have a personal fascination with. On an even more personal level, the Rats could be the ex members of Ghost whom Tobias feels betrayed him and were ungrateful. I’m telling you, this man is a genius!
You should definitely check out other songs from Prequelle. Songs like Faith, See the Light, Pro Memoria, Life Eternal...anything on that album really except maybe the instrumentals lol. It’s a fantastic record.
Another brilliant video! \m/
Death-Lack of Comprehension
I thought it was about the Plague
it is, in many ways. the whole album is
The album's theme is based on the Plague yes. But as you may know, as every Ghost album and song, it could be interpreted in many ways. That is one of the strongest points to why Ghost is unique to me. You can't really put your finger on them.
It is!
That’s the literal translation, of course. Metaphorically though (which is how Ghost works), it could be a few things.
wrathfang
It's a comparison of the plague being akin to Christianity in they way it spreads like an infection.
Ghost isn't attacking Christians in this song. It more about the lack of knowledge of people during the black plague. People thought they were being punished by the wrath of god or it was the work of the devil. But you guys still give a an interesting point of view.
Charles Cunningham Good reply 👍
That's the base meaning, but he also said it relates to present day social media, the whistle blower society as well as his lawsuit with former members. It wasn't an all out assault on Christianity. It has tentacled meaning.
Every song has multiple meanings. That's why I like Ghost. I find Tobias song writing very interesting. As I said about Vin and Sori's point of view is interesting just never heard or thought about that theory.
Charles Cunningham yeah! Now Vin and Sori gave me a new perspective of the song ❤
We need a Vin and Sori Day where one day each week, or biweekly, you guys each pick one song that YOU want. Sori can pick one she wants to check out and then surprise Vin with HER pick, and for your other daily upload, Vin does the same and surprises Sori with HIS pick.
Also you guys really honestly need a ladies night maybe once every couple weeks. Might also be cool to feature a band one day a month who don't get as much love... You could start with *NON POINT: THE TRUTH!*
Oh wow, that's a really cool idea
Tyro thankiesss :D
Maybe more people can get their requests this way too :) we gotta band together, you guys! That's what the village is all about 😇💜
I agree with everything here except for the ladies night proposal, for me it doesn't matter if a band has a males or females. It makes no difference to me, some of my favorite bands I didn't even know had female members until I saw them live.
Scizyr that's nice
Yes it's very nice.
I cringed a little when you said that it seems to be ok for them to bash Christianity but they would get shit if they did that to black people. That is not a comparison you can make. I think I don't have to explain the distinction between a race and a belief system which can be criticized and ridiculed and deservedly so (that including any religion without exception, not only Christianity).
thank u omfg i wanted to cry watching them talk about this song. 🤡
Point is, the boundaries for mocking Christianity are further than even other religions. Not even talking about race or ethnicity.
@@Scoobarruu It's not. People talk trash about Islam all the time. Recently, we had discriminatory laws for Muslims even being able to visit the U.S. Also it's a major religion and Christians are constantly trying to convert people. If you don't expect backlash from that, then you're being a little ridiculous. Christians often turn into the most annoying salesmen and we're all supposed to not make a mean comment about it. Then when you do it turns into "Oh we're all being soo oppressed". It's an old circular narrative that people just aren't falling for as much.
I really enjoyed this "episode" .. especially the story at the end made me laugh ... ... and i'm going to continue with the "igorrr - ieuD" recommendation .. you will most likely not like that song .. but there will be something to talk about .. and i would really like to hear your opinion on it
Soern Moeller igorrr for sure. That would be amazing reaction....
Yes igorrr
I feel like the song is a blank slate. Where it allows the listener to find catharsis from their own struggles with the group the feel the song is about
Its a well written song
And y'all are becoming a favorite channel keep it up xD
I feel a lot of AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACTUAAAALLY Coming you way guys haha
Hahaha
Eric Garzon Garnica was just thinking that too now that I have a chance to actually watch this one LOL
Eric Garzon Garnica funny I have the same feeling.... Haha
You weren’t wrong.
I'm officially addicted to this channel.

Iron Maiden - The Rime of the ancient mariner (Flight 666)
UP THE IRONS 🤘🤘
UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes! Anything from Flight 666, really...
Love how Sori seems to really like Ghost and Vin has to remind her that it's the Devil Band (in the Cirice video).
Won't be too long before we can welcome her to the Dark Side... ;)
Great to see you guys break down the lyrics and know what you're talking about from your background; for me as a non believer it's interesting how you guys feel about these type of "Satanic" songs.
Rats is my least favorite song of this album. Pro Memoria, Helvetesfönster and Life Eternal are the songs I listen to the most and are interesting from both the "Light and Dark side" to interpret.
Keep up posting these video's and I will continue to follow you on the socials and as a member of your village. Thanks.
how about Agalloch? In the Shadow of our Pale Companion!!!
Davis Recs trying this for weeks now as well😁
Interpretation of Rats is completely wrong. From the front man himself:
""I was trying to shine light onto the idea that the turmoil of the black death is not something that was isolated just to death." There's also trauma in survival. "There are numerous extreme metal records that have touched on the subject of dark and evil times, specifically the plague, so I wanted this record to be about survival rather than annihilation. I haven't heard any records that are about that. I have plenty of records about the ordeal of death but not the survival aspect. The record is about perseverance. From a personal point of view, persevering is exactly what I've been doing for the last two years."
Great review today guys!!! I love you guys and you're both such a heavy inspiration in my life! Thank you both! Sidenote: I loved the more balanced dialogue! Vin, Sori, mad love and respect! Real shit!!
You need to find better inspiration
I'm a huge fan of Ghost, and your Channel, I love listening to your two go over these lyrics! Very intriguing!
Steel Panther - Death to all but Metal
Edit: forget to mention Corey Taylor is in it
Lol - yeah! :D
Moe Syzlak how about The Shocker?
Ryan McCumber Baby steps, got to introduce them to what there about slowly. Great song though.
Saw them December 2019 great show.
You guys really need to see the music video in your free time. It's such an 80's dance video! Thanks for reacting to this! You've provided a lot of perspective on this song!
Bucketheads Soothsayer. Emotion without words.
Love your reviews! Thanks for keeping an open mind with this band. Thanks again for all your hard work and your dedication to your fans!!
I've watched all ya'lls reactions and love em. I don't always leave a comment, but I usually leave a like. My mom gave me a bible last week. I'll read it, but only if Vin N' Sori react to Ghost Zombie Queen.
Lol good one
Lol im serious though. Im glad ya'll enjoy Ghost, but I think people are only requesting the minority anti Christian songs. Probably to get ya'lls interpretation, although awesome, is only accurate when reacting to those select songs. Most of their songs are less religion stabby and much more fun, "classic horror rock" style. Zombie Queen is an awesome song to show how fun they are, and what a lot more of their music is like. Likewise, if ya'll try something different, I'll try something different n' start trying to read this bible. Atheist btw. But I'll give it a read through. I'll also check out ya'lls bible study. Love ya'll!
@@holyterraeighty-seven5352 I'm trying the same, to read the Bible again. Nihilism/existential crisis is at the gates.
My thoughts on the repetitive chorus is that it is intentional. It is super catchy and contagious and reflects the subject matter of the song. That's just me though. I could just be giving Forge too much credit. But from my experience it seem like as a musician and songwriter there is always a reason for the decisions he makes. You guys are SUUUUPPPER AWSOME!!!!! :)
The church where I live is one of few places in the city that keep their doors open for addicts while they are under the influence (drunk, stoned, high etc). That's extremely honorable.
Thank you !
I think its more so belief's contagious in a ratty situation, as the album (Prequelle) has black plague themes, in that, in times of crisis people cling to faith or spread it. I'm also not entirely sure he's talking about christianity; in context of the album storyline (because they do have a storyline and lore connecting the albums) I think Prequelle is about the 'new vocalist' (I.E. the new mask the old vocalist is wearing, Cardinal Copia) bringing a rat plague to 'force' people to cling to him and his church for safety.
CRADLE OF FILTH - A GOTHIC ROMANCE
We all know Sori loves Ghost but it's time for Parkway Drive "crushed" attempt #46 lol
Randy Williamson yes going to see them next month with devil wears Prada, august burns red and Polaris
They put on an epic show🤘🤘🤘
Rather see a reaction to chronos or carrion >_>
Yay more Ghost!! Sori's favorite lol . . . Hope we see Nonpoint The Truth soon!! 😃

For some melodic, emotional, mysterious, depressive, nostalgic metal.
A Little Piece of Heaven - Avenged Sevenfold
This song, lyrically is dark and evil, but the melody is fun and fanciful. The video is great too.
i love the Ghost reactions, Vin always bobs his head to the beat then the lyrics kick in and hes like....what the ...

Чпуньк Чпуньк yes yes yes. Septicflesh Trinity as well. Crap, all of the last two albums for sure
I was on the fence about these guys, but as of the last several days or so watching your videos/reactions and then watching all their official videos, I think they're really startin to grow on me and I'm startin to 'get it"{and get why they are so popular}
Mastodon - Jaguar God
Im a Christian, and I love Ghost. The whole idea of being a Christian is being honest. Ghost is honest, they don't beat around the bush. So there ya go.
Dimmu Borgir - Tormentor of Christian Souls could be interesting
Guys, I'm not a religious person and I don't need to in order to help others. By personal experience I can tell you this. My ex-wife suffers a disease that can not be cured, only managed. I've been helping her because it's the right thing to do regardless one having religious beliefs or not. I'm sure that there exist many non-religious people helping other through other more secular means for instance, teachers who are "paid" pennies are still believe in education as a tool to empower people. Soldiers that are there in case of natural disasters (at least in Mexico they do so). And, in Mexico, during the last terrible earthquake, the civil society organized to overcome the tragedy without needing to be directed by religious institutions. Please guys, don't patronize will ya?
For me personally this song resonated strongly with the current societal and political climate in Sweden, which happens to be where Ghost is from.
Skurtavus Grodolfus I doubt that Ghost would go there. It fits the lyrics, but I don't know if it fits his own personal views. If you know what I mean.
But it could be...
leo I meant what the song meant in my mind. To me the lyrics very much illustrate a certain picture. What the band had in mind when the song was written we'll never know.
Of course
As a Swede myself, I didn't make that connection at all. I feel it's more a metaphor for the political climate in the US, if any metaphor.
Bingo. Thisbis exactly how I read it. The issue of refugees in Sweden and all over Europe. The majority of which are Muslim and hold fast to the tenants of Islam.
From an interview with Tobias Forge he stated the song is about immigrant ships that landed in Europe hundreds of years ago. The rats from those ships went around biting/killing people.
I wish I could watch this right now but I'm at work...look back at a couple of my previous comments the villagers want heilung-Krigskaldr
The reason i was turned off from christianity and religion in general was when some guy here in england told me that if i wasnt willing to believe god would kill me violently over and over again. "Believe what i say or i'll hurt you" just didnt offer anything to me.
Opeth - Bleak!!
Ayeew Tasko yes!!!! I’ve been requesting Bleak for a while
Opeth is all show it’s very obvious .. same thing with ghost .. seems like a gimmick .. behemoth on the other hand lol but behemoth’s skill I’m both music and lyrics are at a level of their own
Cool story bro
She is definitely hooked and a ghost fan now, they should have a warning label for being addictive
Iron Maiden - Rime Of The Ancient Mariner [Flight 666 DVD]
I’m agnostic and a huge Ghost fan. I’ve watched a couple of these reviews and wanted to let you know the most beautiful thing about your channel is the way Sori looks at Vin. Amazing chemistry.
Unleash the Archers - Awakening!
I love you guys, you’re Christians and you understand. A lot of Christians block out all the stuff you’re talking about.
I appeal to you to do Hessian Peel by Opeth :-)
Jan Erik Tiwaz +1000
Amazing song.
Yes please do OPETH-Hessian Peel
Jan Erik Tiwaz TOTALLY need more Opeth.
It amazes me that after all we've learned through science, we still have people that believe in the invisible man in the sky. Rip the band-aid off. Belief is nothing more than a consolation. Let it go.

Ghuleh/Zombie Queen I fucking love this tune !!
sakomongros heck yeah! Especially at the 3 minute mark when Zombie Queen starts 😎
Ghuleh/Zombie Queen is my favorite Ghost song
Ghost's melodies and lyrics are like you're given a bucket of flowers, but with a little letter attached which reads "fuck you and fuck everything" lmao
Please react to Angra - the temple of hate
Old band from the new lead guitarist of Megadeth
Brazilian power metal
Ghost is my favorite band, i love you guys and respect your opinions.❤️🤘
Some Powerwolf! 👌👏
Moises.x that would be fun!
Army of the Night would be awesome!
A song from the bible of the beast would be awesome!
I’ve read theories that this album represents Armageddon. Could be supported by the white horse in the music video for the song. Cardinal Copia (the character frontman Tobias Forge plays currently relating to this album) seems to be the horseman of pestilence. This would lead you to assume it relates to the last plagues.
DIMMU BORGIR - BLESSINGS UPON THE THRONE OF TYRANNY
studio version please !!!
I'm so glad you guys reviewed this song! It's one of my favorites from PREQUELLE. You guys still rock!
Sincerely,
Your friendly neighborhood Satanist
Also, this must be one of the deeper conversations I've seen about religion, and Christianity in general
I'd love to have a beer with you guys, or a non-alcoholic beverage of your choice, and just talk about this stuff. You two seem great ,😊
Beer is 👍🏻 we plan to do speaking tours...so...who knows! -Sori✌🏻
Idk if yall ever do hip hop or not but Id love to see yalls reaction to Ill Mind of Hopsin 7
Sheri M noooo. No Hip Hop. Please no. Stick to metal.
Gary Pereira I get the elitism of metal fans but this particular song isn't your typical rap song. No hook or chorus. Just 1 string of lyrical genius into the mind of a person struggling with his beliefs
Sheri M Like Eminem's Rabbit Run? I don't mind Hip Hop but from mid 2000s I don't like the direction it took. The last rap album I listened to was Hip Hop is Dead by Nas.
That might just push me to it lol
It's actually about the black plague. And if you watch the music video combined with the lyrics it's about a plague in the modern times where God punishes us for our sins/straying away from him
Ghost Faith pleaseeeeeeeee
Loved this. It has been one of my favourite breakdowns. Even though the lyrics weren't about what you guys thought, I totally got how you came to that interpretation. I loved all the back and forth between the two of you, it was such a great conversation. I didn't want it to end.
Katatonia-brave!
You guys are so level headed. I am a Christian myself, but like to think I am a realist and not with my head in the clouds. Keep up your videos guys...
Death come near me by draconian please!
AKMRG demo version
Probably the best song on their newest album, in addition to Dance Macabre (which is poppy, but damn catchy). Interesting discussion afterwards :D
For black fire I highly recommend: Melechesh "Multiple Truths"
For main stage: Sabaton "Resist And Bite" ...!!
Underground: Dark Tranquility!
TOOL - 46 AND 2
best tool song
that song is not about religion
Someone's going to mention how strong was the situation when they talked about helping people? I normally don't agree in some things with you, but it was powerful to see the flow of emotions when that happened. You're changing they way I see christians, no doubt. For good, of course.
Another thing that gave me change my opinion like that, was the argentinian movie "Elefante blanco". If you got the time, you should watch it.
I just sent the name of the movie to vin!! 🤟🏻
In my opinion this is Ghost's weakest song. Opus and Infestissumam will be their best work, and due to the Lawsuit I can't really be supportive of the "band" anymore.
undertakerpunk infestussumam has the weakest songs that ghost have ever written ( idolatrine, marionette, mantra mori), not to mention the terrible production. Meliora and prequelle are way better albums as a whole thn the first two.
Infestissumam is their worst album and Meliora the best.
Cool dont support Tobias anymore then lol one fan is not gonna make a difference
Never was a band to begin with.
You should really reconsider. Tobias started Ghost and solely wrote the first album years before there was a "band" of Nameless Ghouls. Every era had some lineup changes. In group photos of the "band" it's usually Tobias and random crew members in the Ghoul costumes. By the firings in 2016, there had been at least 10 Ghouls. It was always his project and not really a band. The only thing that has changed is that you know the truth now.
Rats is the first song (the second in fact, but the first one is just kind of an intro) of the album Prequelle. Each Ghost album has a main theme. Infestissumam's theme was the arrival of the anti-christ. Meliora's theme was the absence of God. Prequelle's theme is the return of God, and you can tell that he's angry with humanity once again.
Prequelle starts with Rats (the Plague as God's punishment), follows with Faith and See the Light (which seem to be sung from the punisher's perspective), continues with Dance Macabre and Pro Memoria (the punished knows he's going to die), Witch Image (Death and its acceptance), Helvetesfonster (beautiful instrumental which leaves you thinking) and finally Life Eternal (A reflection about if you would you really want to live forever). The album is quite existentialist, and even though the sound is more rock than metal, the lyrics are definetely dark.
Nonpoint the truth please bruah help me out
Martinezjoe74 I swear we need to band together. We are gonna get this one done for you!
_The.Pony_ thanks bro I wish they would
Martinezjoe74 I think you have a lot of villagers who want you to get it, too so it may !!
_The.Pony_ yes leah is one that bought it up on the last live stream and Its in these comments as well
Martinezjoe74 I remember lol and also I'm trying to get Patreons to band together to get it done for you
The best is that, Tobias Forge is Swedish. He got no notion of the sort of American kind of socio-political problems this channel salutes to. Ferner.
there is also jabs at former band members who sued Tobias which in turn exposed his identity
The rats where the one who carried the flees who spred the plague on to the humans. That's what the meaning of the song is about. But as always you could read in different meanings (some say it's about the old friends just to take one example.) And that is the genious of Tobias. You can never figure him out.
Magnus Blomqvist But the Fleas and Rats came to Europe from the East and the Middle East. That brings yet another spin on the song.
Aaron A. Foster Yes. Just as always with Tobias. You could find so many meanings depening on how you choose too. That's why he is so brilliant with lyrics.
I'm aware of tensions in Scandinavia with asylum seekers from the Middle East and Russia. Bringing religions the Scandinavians are not so accustomed to (Islam and Eastern Orthodox Christians). I have no idea of the truths of how this dynamic is working. Overall Scandinavians are quite tolerant people. Growing pains can be difficult but are generally harmless.
I'd venture to say he is speaking on all religions not only Christianity. I take it as him speaking of any organized religion that recruits fairly aggressively. It feels like Christians feel more personally attacked most Atheists or "Satanists" are anti religion period.
