- Time for another trip! Myself & May took a few days break down to Hua Hin via Ratchaburi where we experienced the Nassata Light Festival, stayed at a slightly remote homestay and rode the locals roads on our bike. The next day we took the only train to Hua Hin and had a look around in the short time we had there. We saw the markets, Monkey mountain, historic railway station, and stayed at a decent condo rented from a BnB company. I also sat down with May and asked her a few questions so some of you could get to know her better! It was a bit of a rushed trip but a great chance to chill out for a few days away from Bangkok.

What makes her tick? Physics apparently! Hey here's an idea, go up to Ngad Dam, north of Chiang Mai stay over in a floating hotel, jump in the water and call it the closest to the Polar Bear club your going to get. I double dog dare ya! If she has a sister I'll go with ya!

Awesome footage . I havent watched any Utube in a while . Love the interior train stuff . On the toiletries I have a massive collection fron all the hotels my wife and I stay in . Even after 3 years of covid restrictions I am yet to run out of hotel soap. I think its a real positive to put May in your vlog . I would like to see her interview you Pat . The fact you filmed cats on a train is pretty legendary.

13.50 god that food looked great im so hungry right now i could almost taste that , it kept me awake for hours , the light show was great too , when the thais put their mind to it they can really get stuff right when they want to , see you o the next one
Another nice video Pat. The steam loco used to rest across from the ticket office until they started the building of the new station. I know it was there at least 13 years ago.

Thanks for a nice video I did the same trip in November but I left Bangkok from Wongwian yai station and did the trip via a ferry to Samut Songkram and the train market, stayed there over night and next day took the local bus to Ratchaburi. Then the train to Hua Hin.

The Royal Pavilion is not under restoration, it just hasn't been painted in a very long time!
The old locomotive was first standing opposite the railway station as some kind of monument. Because of the new railway construction they moved it to the spot were it is now. Abandoned and allmost forgotten... The houses next to it have been broken down, so at least the loc is now visible from the road.
another enjoyable video, your GF adds to your presentation seems very nice person and good natured. I really like your trip videos getting out of BKK but still enjoy your Bkk ones. Just one comment I have problems with arthritis and get around on a mobility scooter so can you possibly include and comments on disabled access when doing your presentations would be very helpful.

Hi Pat & May! I can tell you both one thing for certain, that, when you both decide to have children, they are going to be intelligent, no doubt. You both are compatible. Cheers Jimmy, That was a coincidence. And l've often used the Ghost town analogy in other videos. Sad! The train ride is great on that route, l couldn't get to both sides of the train to film enough!

I was in Hua Hin a few weeks ago. Sorry to see the state the old station is in.
My first visit to Hua Hin was in 1980. The station master took great pride in keeping the place clean. I believe it was at that time voted the nicest railway station of Thailand.
Let's hope they find money to preserve the old station.

It's sad about the new stations as most of the old ones will be destroyed as per what happened in Khon Kaen. It had a lovely old station but was all swept away for a concrete monstrosity...... Although it is good the SRT is being modernised but a bit less 'brutalist' architecture would be nice....... Although i believe Hua Hin's old station will be kept although in use for something else.....

Thanks to both of you, this journey to Hua Hin out of Ratchaburi was a real pleasure. I love travelling by train all over Asia & THAÏLAND is no exception.

wifey and i spent a couple of days at hau hin, she loved the food and i spent quite a bit of time " train spotting " at the station... a very good movie, far better than the " bar / girls " video from others...

Hua hin looks fairly busy now , I was there end of August was like a ghost town , good to see it’s on the up again 🙏

Can't film without those polo shirts! The mic clips on at the right spot for good audio. T-shirts won't work, voice too deep and not as clear!

May is beautiful and humble. Least favorite fruit = none. I hope herr favorite is king of the fruit. My wife and I took the train from Bangkok to Hua Hin in early 2010s. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for including Hua Hin train station in the video. We were in Bangkok this past November. While looking for HK Marina (closed now) in the rain, wife said "Look. There is Bangkok Pat". You were taking pictures of Europeans who were selling arts and crafts on the sidewalk.

Nice video.. Walking in the night market around the time mark 13:50mins you managed to get video camera overhead. Did you have an extension pole? or were you on stilts..lol. very good camera angle and it's less obtrusive too. 🍷🍷
I have the gimball on a short tripod as counterweight and l just held it as high as l could. Gives a better general overview and l don't like faces walking towards the camera!
Haha no glasses had the same sort of thing but beer glasses after late night out and decided to book last minute change of destination.
As they say just be flexible and no problems. Hua Hin is a nice place stayed up near blue port and walked along the beach underestimated how long of a walk but got to get some exercise.
Cheers, it is a long beach, tide comes up so fast! Didn't see so many horses this time, very glad to say. The hotels were good for the price although sofa was a bit worn out at the condo!

I wouldn't worry about your channel name, Bangkok Pat is you, Pat who live in Bangkok. It doesn't mean all your output has to be about Bangkok though...... It's good to see other places, either like this, as a road trip, or in your normal style. But keep the expanded horizons going..... How about your take on the Mae Klong Railway Market? Or the Jesada Technik Museum? Or how Pattaya became a city from the small fishing village it once was, all in the sapce of around 50 years?...... Just some food for thought.....
I love how the landscape changes as you get closer to Hua Hin two places to go Ban Khun por and cheap lunch on monkey mountain.

@@BangkokPat Funny story, I was doing a beach cleanup with Trash Heroes and offered to go up the mountain. I was warned to watch out for the monkeys. I reached the top of the mountain and saw three old and bored monkeys. "Is that it?" I asked myself. I continued walking and picking up rubbish. In the distance the brown dirt road seemed to be moving up and down. it wasn't the road, it was hundreds of monkeys who set upon me and climbed in my trash bag looking for food. I didn't run, but slowly backed myself down the hill!
At 11:21 that sign which reads "beware of trains" immediately gave me the impression that provincial trains sometimes leave the tracks and go after passengers to bite their legs hahaha
La Casita is supposed to be quite nice.. will probably stay there when I go there!
