The night life is a good substitute for heading into BKK. Next time stay a couple nights. Falang Street where Planet Earth is, there's a couple nice hostels walking distance. Night clubs of interest, The Story, New Cowboy, and Yermmm and the Boss on the other side of town. So for the foreigners that want to see the temples and elephants during the day, there's definitely some night life. You should have called me, I would've come meet you.
Really enjoyed this video and being introduced to May. Your "natural" has always been great and adding May's natural to yours makes for even better viewing. Thanks and keep it coming.
Thanks Stevie. Train starts at Hua Lamphong and stops at Bang Sue Junction on the way. The new Bang Sue won't be running long distance trains until January/February
Great video Pat and truly, what a lovely surprise. Now back to harping on about the rolling shutter. Apparently the video file contains all the gyroscopic data to fix that with Sony's Catalyst Browse, @MarkBennettCameraCrisis has a good video on stabilization and a tutorial for Catalyst Browse.
So nice to see your chanel again and how your chanel has grown . I remember watching your chanel when. You only had about 9000 subscribers. It used to infuriate me when I would look at other people and. There bloke was no where near as good as yours and they had 50.000 subscribers. Yours is the best and most informative . And your girlfriend is a breath of fresh air . Keep her she’s absolutely gorgeous. All the best from Australia
great video its nice to get out of bkk some times and go on a road trip , makes a pleasant change, im sure ive been to the floating market with my ex many years ago , seeing it again was a trip down memory lane , take it easy , see you on the next one
Cheers Paul, definitely great to get a break from the old routine of Bkk. Floating market was pretty much what you'd expect from one created artificially without any history, soulless I suppose you could call it!

Your vids are too interesting to drift off to but they are a welcome respite--and inspiration--at the end of my day. Well done!
Nice one Pat and May to see other places, Have been to the first temple from memory I took a bicycle tour of some of the other temples great place to visit.
Hi Pat & May, I enjoy your videos as the are well presented and full of useful information. They open up a new view of Thailand and even as a seasoned traveller to Thailand I always learn something new. Ayutthaya is a lovely place, so much to see and learn. I stayed at the Classic Kameo in December, "Word up" !! Especially liked the people walking backwards at Wat Mahathat, I'll look out for them next time I'm there Thanks for producing and sharing great content
Thoughly enjoyed this one. Great videography, story and pace of the .video. i always learn from your videos. You and May just be yourselves. Adds a lot of real life and depth to the video.
Omg.. I'm in Ayattaya now. You do it so much better than I lol. Love you two together! You're gracious and interesting. You guys have a lot of style. Thanks much.
Nicely done Pat! Did a Day trip by the local train to Ayutthaya in '08 with my family and Mai is right in that at least two days and probably three would be good. We lucked out and hired a taxi to take us round to the temples, the driver was very good at showing us some of the prominent temples as well as a wonderful lunch spot and we really enjoyed the whole day even though it was a long one. Thanks for stirring those fine memories Pat and keep up the great work!
First Video With MY THAI GIRLFRIEND | TRIP TO AYUTTHAYA | Thailand Ancient City. Interesting and engaging video. I support your video Watched the video on DEC 04, 2022 very like. Thank you
Thanks again Pat - great vlog - nice to finally meet May. You two are great together - so relaxed and natural. Doing another one of these every month or few would be most welcome - now we know where to go in Ayutahaya. I assume you got around using motorbike taxis? Or did you hire a bike?
Nice one Pat. I've learned I've been mispronouncing Ayutthata all these yrs, even after two trips there lol. Not surprised you didn't stay another night, at that price. Did you use the Agoda app? You'll be getting like Jonny in Hua Hin, reviewing hotels (Jeroen went to see him). You talking about lifting toiletries reminded me of a trip to Sri Racha. I 'borrowed' a face flannel, as I'd forgotten to bring one, and it was checked by the cleaner, who then rang down to reception. Not the same as Europe, where bath robes & towels go missing lol. Those trains are looking great now. Has the new stock been rolled out everywhere now, or just a few routes? Nice to meet May
Thanks Justin. It wasn't the hotel cost, that was worth the money with great food and facilities. There were many cheap places online but if you see a 600 baht hotel that looks too good to be true with great photos, then it probably is! So we just played safe.
Ayutthaya is great. I have been there several times and there is a lot to see. Nice that you make videos outside of Bangkok and great that your girlfriend is with you in this eposode.
Hi Pat, well I think it’s great you have included your girlfriend in your u tube, I enjoy your channel anyway, but it’s brought a really nice feel good factor to it. She comes across a really nice person, you lucky chap. And as you say, no acting or playing up to the camera as many of them do. Which I don’t watch lol. Great channel mate, Geoff uk, here for another 3 wks.
Hi Pat, I disagree with your reply about people getting bored if it’s only you all the time. I subscribed some time ago, not once have I thought , come on you can do better. Your very calm in your voice, your knowledge is amazing, I’m sure you do research, but to remember it all on camera, I take my hat off to you. And of course whenever I see a cat here in Thailand, I think, mmm, I wonder if you have been a star of the show lol. Just keep doing what your doing pat. Thanks again for your reply. Geoff.

As I recall, a lot of the historical records of Ayutthaya, are based on journals, correspondence and reports from Farang diplomats, traders and missionaries.
Please no one ride those beautiful elephants. That young elephant being mistreated for tourists amusement is shameful. The elephants are beautiful enough doing their natural behavior in sanctuary parks like the Phuket nature elephant reserve
Totally agree with you. That's why the government ban those 🐘 owner from using these wonderful creature for money making like making them walk miles into the city for collection donation. But the government need to do more especially in the tourist industry. No more elephant ride please, it start with tourist boycott those ride.
