This car is awesome. Can't believe all the features on it. Been loving the datsun 1200 vids you've been making. Now looking forward to this beast as well. Thanks for sharing 👍
Wow, what an incredible bunch of engineering behind the rear seat. I knew these cars were super luxury but I had no idea it was that complex. The electric reclining seat and the remote for stuff, the full climate control and even that special pull down seat segment in the front seat. Absolutely amazing to see some of this stuff back in the 80s.
I have seen one of these before and admit that I know nothing about them. Vehicles that were early to use an all electric platform were often plagued with glitches and electrical faults, including fires. Hopefully these are different. Cool car.
@@1980Rx7 This is a running joke between me and Mark; years ago on a roadtrip he made fun of how my HC3S Luce had to stop twice as often as his Skyline. And the HC3S had a relatively Prius-like 14L/100km on the freeway in comparison to the President...muhahahahaha
Awesome looking car. It's nice to see the President from every angle. How about driving around the neighbourhood in the car. I'd love to see how she drives.
@@callumlayton-b1v I wish I did. I've been interested in the car though for a long time. For some reason, they were never offered in the USA, not even as a Datsun.
Yes. It’s an 83 model black with grey velour interior 185000kms been in wa since 2009 and in original condition except for the 14x6 72 spoke Dunlop wires. Love it.
25L/100km. That's bad. 4 klicks per liter out of a 4.4L V8? Really bad. *converts to American* 9.4 MPG? Huh. My 54-year-old truck (similar weight, 7.1L V8, 4spd crashbox, 4.10 rear) got that on a good day. Econobox indeed! 30L/100km...7.8 MPG. Yep. That's typical for my truck. Also really bad. Sounds nice though. :D
@@SYH653 Hahahaha! I just took it on a fairly lengthy drive which you'll find out about next week, and it was doing 28L/100km and slowing down up hills. Watch this space ;)
Hey mate I have a Nissan president too so hard to find people with them mines y44e 1988 got heaps of photos love your videos too how much did you’s pay for it ?
Possibly. It's very well built. They started making them in 1965 but the Prince merger wasn't till 1966. This car has the same basic underpinnings as those early ones, so same basic chassis and turret from 1966 till 1990. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_President

Came from The SkidFactory and man I’m excited about this project can’t wait
We're pretty excited that the boys are going to make it run properly!
@@BarrelBros absolutely
it's gonna be sick
Also from the skid factory, very keen 👍
Seems fitting for the king of wheel restoration 👑😆
I shall waft past the general public in sumptuous luxury. Don't like my chances of getting a peaked cap and white gloves on Elliot though 🤣
I like the sound of "bagging it into the future" ;-)
Yeah, it's too long to run static low......but we'll be trying anyway hahaha!
Wow this is going to be so awesome! Haltech will let us know exactly how much power this girl can actually make!
My first thought was: What a crime against car-kind those wheels are! Really looking forward seeing the finished product.
Holy swirl marks batman!
That paint really needs some love too!
It's pretty shonky. Doesn't help that I'm making it worse *see ep 3 Wheels.
Very nice example! Yes the Y40 and 44s are very quiet.

I've found other stuff on it since that video too!
@@BarrelBros did you say its 1988? Unbelievable the features on those 80s Nissan's. So ahead of their time. This things like a Japanese Rolls Royce.
@@1Peterstewart Yep, 1988. It's a weird combo of a 60s chassis (literally) and 80s R31 switches, column surround etc.
@@BarrelBros awesome mate, can't wait to see what you do with it.

Diggin' the funky soundtrack!
Yeah, searched around a while to get the right pimping vibe lol.
It looks like one of those 70's Custom Cars, like someone tried turning a HT Holden into a Mercedes 123.
Those 17's would actually suit my falcon!!
Those 17s were garbage and have been melted down to be turned back into Coke cans and lawn furniture.
This is livin'. I am so pleased, Mark.
I thought you might like this one!
You got an Ibiza light!! Someone's been watching MCM.
Yep, Twas Al that called it that.
very nice, the chop stick antennas are part of the look though!
That 70's Pimpin music suited it perfectly. All you need is a Japanese version of a Ford Torino now.
Had to search a bit to find music with the right sound lol.
Ain’t no gangsta like Yakuza gangsta.
G' day mates..Al and Woody sent me.
25L/100km. So you’ll be needing to upgrade to a Luce Rotary for the fuel economy benefits
Lol, this is probably true.
Hahahaha!
i would have said roadpacer!

lol the music, what a mood
Elliot searched "glamour" lol
Like a Japanese version of the 1970s Ford Fairlane ZC/D but with all the bells and whistles and fruits.
17050F2700 fuel pump assembly and just the pump is 1705106A11, both still available through Nissan but outrageously expensive.
Just checked that and yeah, glad I was sitting down lol.
Sweet!
My extended port 13b mazda e2000 twin cab got 30 litres per 100klm, so that Nissan is an economy box.

The big question is, what wheels would you fit? It pains me to say the current ones aren't as bad as some I've seen on these.
We tried every damn 5 stud wheel in the shop on it 😄
Nothing looked good until we did some altitude adjustment 😉
