Help me out sweetheart? My have always heard vinegar neutralizes the lye? How does the vinegar work in the lye solution? 😮
I've heard that vinegar can neutralize lye especially when a spill is involved. Doesn't seem to affect the outcome of soap

I am new to soap making and made an aloe soap using the hot process metho. It came out awful. 4 weeks later an it is still soft.

What does aloe do for soap making in general?
Aloe has a cooling and soothing effect. I love the lather it creates very soft!
