People should not watch the 1979 movie Stalker and expect anything like these first person shooter games. It's a very slow, meditative (as that guy said) experience and yes, I also found it to be one of the most beautiful movies I've ever watched. The Soviet sci fi novel that it was based on (Roadside Picnic) is actually a bit more like the Stalker games. But it's set in North America after aliens briefly stopped on Earth and created anomolous zones by leaving their trash (like humans leaving strange artifacts for ants to find after having a roadside picnic, hence the name). It's also funny that Lock described Stalker games as one player Escape from Tarkov, because that game was also inspired by 'The Zone' from the Stalker movie and the game's title is even a reference to the film's director Andrey Tarkovsky. But again, don't watch the movie expecting to see gun fights or action.
The only people playing stalker have a 40 series and above. One of the most inaccessible games in recent memory. Reminds me of Crysis. Edit: the recent updates have it working well on my 3060ti. You need a solid cpu as well. But I would recommend now.
@ Why would I be mad? I’m gonna play it when it’s more optimized but I’ve heard from enough people to know it’s very buggy and crashes a lot unless you’re on a very high end PC. I’m not playing on anything less than 60 and a lot of people feel like that this generation. Who’s playing Stalker at 60fps without a beefy rig?
But Crysis was an accessible game, I played it on release on bad pc on medium and got good fps, the problem was that Ultra settings were made for rigs that didn't exist, but you could have played it on a lot of PCs, Crysis was very scalable.
Question to people deep into Metaphor: does the plot/character writing get any better/ more dynamic? I've put it on ice after the second dungeon because it kept reminding me of the somewhat formulaic Persona 5 character/plot writing: goody two shoes with bagage -> introductory arc -> "awakening" -> assimilated by the group with all further (inconsequential) development sectioned off to their social link. Don't get me wrong - so far, I do like Strohl, Hulkenberg and Heismay - but I'm worried that past their respective arcs, their relevance to the main plot will be just as pale as in P5. I'd prefer if they'd actually grow or even regress throughout the story and not just become stale plot-exposition devices for the next 70 hours. Main villain so far also just reminds me of Shido from P5 - bad guy doing bad things. Since the time commitment even after 20ish hours is quite considerable, I'd appreciate an indication whether this games writing is more Persona 5 or preferably more like Persona 3, Devil Survivor or P5R third semester.
I've finished the game and I personally as someone who holds the 3rd Semester highly, Metaphor stacks up pretty well by the very end of the story. Main party is still relevant beyond their social links but their SLs are really good especially in how it ties to the themes and it's easily the best SL compared to P3,4,5 imo. The overall flaw of Metaphor is that you can tell that the overall amount of story you get is cut a little bit short before the end game, it feels like there could of been a dungeon or 2 more, and 1 more town/month they could of used to flesh out more of the story and the later party members. It feels like it has the opposite issue to P5 which has too much while Metaphor could of had more. I found Louis to be a compelling villain, he has interesting motivations and impactful actions, not quite as good as something like Griffith (what is lol) but around as compelling and impactful as 3rd Semester antagonist was. I'll admit though I found Metaphor to be little rough in some parts in the middle but what made Metaphor work for me was how they tied everything up by the very, very end game and how it made me understand what the developers wanted to say as their theme/message which I found to be very compelling. I guess Metaphor is more like Persona 3 where everything finally comes together by the last 1 or 2 months. I do really like Metaphor as it really grew on me by the end but I'm kinda suprised by the overall positive reception of the game as I feel there aren't that many people weighing in it's flaws. I'll bet that this game will be a little more divisive as time goes on.

@wyliesalimeno9602 Well most of it definately hasn't been fixed like the major bugs but it's nice that they balanced a few things. I love the game, but I have only played it with my nephew, and he constantly played it with friends on our same save file, so I didn't even get to experience the whole game.
The negativity around Stalker 2 is exhausting. Yeah they need to iron out performance and bugs, but my god the game itself is awesome. Legit one of the best games that has came out this generation in a time where everything tries to play it safe or be fortnite. I remember the golden era of gaming back in the 360 era had tons of games (oftentimes the best games of the era) having tons of bugs and performance issues and barely kept 30 fps. I’d take Stalker 2 with all its issues with basically 99% of the junk that has released in the last 7-8 years.
I'm glad they delayed Avowed, I'd rather have a finished game later, than a buggy game on launch. The team needs more time to finish implementing all the extra pronouns and vitiligo they're adding. Personally, I'll be running a non-binary frogself 2-spirit Paladin. They're stuffing it full of content for that modern audience!
Still no working A-Life 2.0 in the game, anyone that played the originals knows we won't be getting the real experience until that is sorted. Origins fans like myself shit on DA2 and Inq when they came out as well, but one of those games being shit and the other eh compared to Origins is not and should not be used as a defence or justification for Veilguard being shit. And nah the combat and art style didn't evolve with each entry, the art devolved with 2, got back on track with Inq and now we have Dragon Age Fisher Price Edition. And stop being disingenuous Lock, just stop the cap. You can't accuse people that don't like the game of having never played the series then also say that Inquisition was cartoony, Inquisition is the least cartoony of the bunch and even DA2 isn't that bad compared to VG. DA2 had a WHFB tabletop vibe to it's art direction, meanwhile Veilguard is for kids and looks like Shrek, the body proportions are moronic, everyone has massive heads, short stubby arms, and tree trunk legs.
As a swede "greta thunberg" thats not how we pronounce her name. Thun is pronounce like a Tuna So just remove the A. Also Berg isnt pronounce like that, it is pronounced as "BER-J" yes with a J you never say the G. I really dislike that woman, dont get me wrong - she was all about the climate and now the climate suddenly doesnt matter, just "Palestine" because the far-left has told her so, but you americans already trashed "Ragnarök" pronouncation so that we have to say something.

Avowed is capped at 30fps, on Xbox series. So it's another Xbox console exclusive that's a joke. Xbox has just stopped trying at this point.
How many more games will Xbox release broken and unfinished? They’re obviously not the only company doing this but you’d think being one of the biggest in the world and having a brand to redeem, they’d try a little bit harder. Sort it out! Microsoft gaming
Edit - I learned Microsoft doesn’t own the developer or IP of Stalker, regardless they are heavily associated with the game now for doing an exclusivity deal
The STALKER movie is free on RUclips
Bros couldn't even remember how to say A Life
Lockmort making some great points, wish he didn't just keep misgendering Taash though
Gaming is not for you, I would suggest seek out vintage gaming sites, then understand where you are, but definitely first grab yourself a game cube 👍 get a few years in.. see you in 2020
Lol I joking obviously
Lockmort Is 100% correct everything he said about DA Veilguard
Imagine coping so much over Veilguard and calling the art style good lmfao
