      You mean the one made by Thea Ulrich? Kyle Hill just did the analysis. He didn’t even wear the blades for the tests they did.

    You Make crazy comlex and labour intensive builds of such a high quality,
    on par with huge channels/companies like the hacksmith.
    And all that with pretty basic tools.

    I like how much detail you put into your projects, like that plastic anti-abrasion bushing would have been skipped by someone lesser, but not you. You're building this stuff to last too.

    You could used some strong magnets at the base to retain the blade, and the air pressure can overcome it.

    this might seem crazy but... why don't you try to run the mantisblade from the same air system as the powerfist. dualweilding a giant blade and a mechanical fist would be crazy and amazing.

      Um...... i don't think even jairus would argue that anything involving a hacksaw is the very antithesis of precision. Try clickspring if you want precision. Watch this channel if you want geeky builds :).

      It was tons of file work for sure! But I didn’t have to use any ruby bearings or microscopic gears! Lol So not quite watchmaking but still painstaking considering my available tools.

    the tap holder you are using shouldn't be used for taps smaller than 5mm, get yourself a chuck style tap wrench for doing these small taps and you will avoid breaking as much.

      @@dustinthewind357 the word you're searching for is "inaccurate", not "cyberpunk" unless you're meaning "full of bugs". fullers are for weight saving. Absolutely nothing to do with blood or suction.

    Tap guides and drill guides for small drill bits and taps. Will save you time and headache. I know you said you hadn't broken a tap in forever but small bits and taps don't care.

    you can probably use one of those co2 life jacket inflators for the blade part, they are normally very small and I think that it would work well on this project

    Get rid of the grease and use an in line pneumatic tool oiler. I suggest silicone oil

    Man I was cringing so hard with those tiny drill bits and taps. I know how sharp those can be when they break and you accidentally jab yourself with the shard that gets stuck in the metal you're working!

    Would you be able to weld the outer two plates together to add a little more rigidity? I don't think that would interfere with serviceability and reduce leaks since the outer plates are gonna be held with fasteners anyway. Great build as always though.

    I feel like hydraulics would be better for this application because they wouldn't give when the blade hits something. The air in co2 will compress a little. It probably won't be a problem tho.

    Love your videos so far, but there is something I'd like to point out. That groove you're cutting called a fuller, and it's put into a blade to reduce its weight. It's not for blood. Just so you know.

    I'm curious, Jairus. Some petroleum lubricants degrade a variety of rubbers over time. Did you consider which type of grease and elastic you chose when going with your elastic return system? If so, can you share what you chose? If not, was it because of any particular reason or did it just not come up during your design process?
