You are right! the single most problem with space exploration is our military budget as well as the black budget.
I think Cold War with the Space Race probably did more good for discovery than peace would have. Same with developing satellites and shuttles for every nation just to spy on each other.
Without war we wouldn't be exploring the solar system because a hell of a lot of technology comes from war.
it would just create more questions than answers, because of the size of the universe it's basically an infinite rabbit hole we could never reach the end of, most of what would be gained would be knowledge that can't be acted upon for many more thousands of years of technological advancement, if ever. Wars and military invasions create political and financial gain for us in the present, so that's why they get the funding.

I think Neptune missions keep getting canceled because of the great distance involved. A lot of time would be required to reach Neptune, which would be hard to justify to an impatient Congress looking for relatively quick returns on investments in NASA. So missions to Mars, Venus, and other planets closer to Earth make more financial and political sense.

Well they set enough money to fund Horizon to go to Pluto they could have done the same thing for Neptune which I find more interesting but unfortunately Mars gets all the attention and funding for future missions.

No, because life is really rare and requires a lot of favorable conditions. And even then, plural cellular is even rarer. And in the wilderness, having a big brain is not an advantage at first so intelligent life is even rarer. And finally, we cannot go faster than the speed of light, so even if there is life in the universe they are so far from us that they would probably go extinct without reaching us or maybe they don't feel like expanding too much because they don't have the resources or technology.

Visiting Neptune isn't easy, especially if we're talking about getting into orbit around Neptune. That means that the spacecraft will have to be accelerated to a ridiculous speed with a rocked engine, and carry a powerful rocket engine in order to slow down to a speed that would allow the spacecraft to get into orbit. This is compounding a mission to Neptune to the point of near impossibility as it would either have to take a very long time for the spacecraft to reach the planet, or the spacecraft has to be very heavy and fast. A slow spacecraft has a higher chance of malfunction. Also, the plutonium power source (the only viable power option this far away from the sun) would also reduce it's energy output over the decades of travel time. If we go with a fast spacecraft, that's making the mission very pricey. It would require several launches, and building the probe in Earth orbit before sending it to Neptune.
What we need to do is convert solar energy to propulsion. Magnetic inverters work great on American "ufo" saucers. I think the problem is human tendencies to attach machine guns and dominate other countries with technology. Unity is what we lack

tbh elon musks starship program is step towards to that and i think with spacex's resources and recearch we r going towards building a station that can be used to build and fuel deep space ships to for example investigate neptune but yes it will take decades of advancing technology. I really think that we are able to go and properly investigate neptune in the mid 40's
@@arttusalonen9800 I wouldn't count on Musk doing much in this direction. He's mostly false promises and advertising, and very little actual results to show for it. Actually, I doubt we will ever be able to explore the outer Solar System in great detail due to the enormous economic resources this will require. And that's an investment without a return, or at least with an extremely long term return. There was a political reason behind the space exploration of 20-th century, but the space race is over. There's no good reason to keep spending billions on this.
NASA might have better chances at finding life if they put actual cameras on their probes.

Delays are because of equipment upgrades, and adding new missions to the mission. Meaning making new machines, and recalculating for launch. Also the US doesn't have heavy launch missiles anymore, so things aren't as easy to get out as voyager was.

Actually, I was pleased to hear something really new on your channel. I hope that soon we will still study this mysterious and cold world properly, even if it will be difficult. Could the ammonia water/dust eruptions on triton be driven by neptune's big magnetic field?
Let's say the dust comes from magnetic ion reserves somewhere in the moon and the magnetic field of neptune is big and strong enough to pull them to triton's atmosphere.
I don't know how magnetic ammonia water is but maybe iron and/or other metals are involved.
The dust in the atmosphere might also explain the intense ionosphere.
It depends whether or not Triton is orbiting inside Neptune's magnetic field or not. But the likely cause of the moon's chryo vulcanism is due to tidal forces caused by Neptune's gravity which squeezes and pulls the satelite and all that pulling and squeezing heats up Triton's interior up enough to crate cracks and fissures on the moon similar to Io though Io has to deal with much more intense tidal forces with Jupiter and it's other big moons. Little wonder why Io is most volcanic object in the solar system.
I can't imagine what the astronomers of the past thought when they discovered new planets. Must've thought there were humans there too looking back at them😅

It's crazy how every arrangement looks like the atom model (nucleus - electron) and how everything is spinning ! ☄🌠
With the reason for it not being really big like the other planet is because of its mask gravity and how much it weighs so it holds in a lot more stuff while not expanding. So it formed and while it was forming at its core, it got a lot more iron than most cores which increased its gravity which made it so that all the stuff around it then expand to the size of something like Saturn which would be why it's so far out collecting all that iron while maintaining its size. If it had less iron it probably would be the size of Saturn but maybe because of its placement it gets the perfect amount of iron. Like I've said a bunch of times already in this comment and then that helps maintain its size

Based on what we see in the small fraction of reality we can experience, and removing the bias to expect only what we personally know from experience, I think wisdom dictates to accept that anything is possible somewhere in this vast universe, including silicon-based and other life forms and those that can emerge in any environment. We could exist inside one right now.

@@OldGuyStudent That’s not very nice. I grew up reading 19th century literature, which was known for having longer sentences. Many have commented on how the modern reading public has greater comprehension when those long, but still grammatically correct, sentences are broken up into shorter, more precise ones, but I still enjoy the old fashioned way. You just have to read it slower and with more attention. Even so, it’s not a salad. It’s more like lasagna.

We haven't explored our oceans simply because one we have no reason to currently, and two we are too lazy.
If the space race was replaced with something to do with the oceans, we'd have explored most of them already.
This just goes to show how little humans understand about anything outside of Earth.
And even Earth itself. It wasn't until the 20th century where we developed enough precision to measure the pyramids and the granite boxes/pottery. We know very little about our past on Earth or the planet itself, and likely science as a whole. A planet of infants just learning to walk finally, I can't wait to see all the discoveries and innovation in our lifetime.

Have always loved space and planets since I was a little kid it always has fascinated my mind with all the possibilities, sadly my life will long over before man ever steps a foot on any of these worlds much less even gets a space ship to many of them, it amazing to think of the crazy worlds and how many billions of them there are that we may never know of or see, but that means we need to value this earth we have so much more than we do and we need to protect the plants and the animals and the oceans and lakes as if we destroy or beautiful earth there is no promise we will ever find another and even if we do we may never be able to reach it. Let's look to the stars together in wonder at how beautiful it all is and yet how scary it can be as well and let's cherish this world we are so blessed to have each day.

So you would need some type of material that would be able to withstand the amounts of pressure around the planet itself. Then something that can withstand its heat or find a way to make it so that when the probe enters the atmosphere it's cool to down. So that way it needs to just focus on not breaking apart. Instead of burning up and breaking apart, you would need something like a really advanced submarine that has a cooling system so it wouldn't burn up

Too bad neptune isnt closer to go check it out, that wud be interesting. But we cant yet make the 9 month long journey to Mars. Let alone the 12 years (one way) to Neptune. And I guess your body gets destroyed from being in zero gravity (loses all muscle and bone density).
Maybe in several decades or centuries they can invent that warp drive like in Star Trek. Then we can start making some plans.

I think the constant delays to neptune is because we dont have the tech to make a suit strong enough to withstand that kind of cold
Any trip to Neptune will be unmanned. There's no plan to send an astronaut to Neptune; only robotic probes.

I think the delays just has to do with NASA's budget and if the technology they want to use around the planet has been invented yet. And they already have multiple missions going on in the solar system. They're planning to actually send a rover to land on Venus by the end of the decade. They're probably prioritizing their missions

it seems that life ON Neptune would be fairly impossible, since anything that's mobile would have to have some kind of fluid integral to its motion not to mention its survival, BUT if Neptune has seas and a warm core then it might be possible for some kind of sea life to exist as long as it swims deep enough to absorb some of the warmth from the core. That'll be 5 cents please (it should be 2 cents, but then there's inflation).
Who knows, microorganisms could have evolved a type of antifreeze cellulose or warming organelle. Stranger things have happened in nature and even more so in space.
I would think the size and gravity would make it impossible. Maybe one of its satellites could have life.

You do know there are species that can thrive in extreme temperatures, we don’t know what’s out there, if sharks can live in volcanos what’s to say alien aquatic life forms can’t live under extremely cold temperatures

Planets are scary close up but beautiful from afar. I dream of seeing the planets of our solar system close up one day. The colours, the different gravitational calculations, figuring out what can exist there but cannot here and vice versa. So much to learn, so little time🥲
