LMAO!! How you tossed in Ben and Emily's trip, that was hilarious. They were so brave to try to chair sleep that leg of the trip. Not sure how much a cabin is, but for sure would get one.. let this be a lesson to the frugal traveler haha ;) Cheerio.
As a lover of canals, ships and trains this had a bit of everything for me, so thank you for sharing lol. I think for a crossing of that length having a cabin is definitely the way to go, if not just for the privacy and a bit of quiet time..
There is nothing like travelling by Ferry, with the smell of the sea and drum of the ship, it made me think of happier times. Thank you guys for the great video, and I hope you have/had a great holiday.
Initially I was surprised after watching Ben & Emily's Van trip to Portugal, that you would be off on your own adventure. Lovely you had the time to spend with Family and certainly a nice break before Holly resumes her catering. Perfect accommodation's aboard and the food looked delightful. Thanks for sharing and stay safe!
Made me smile when William had his bath in the sink brought back memories for me @ 70 years old my Mum bathing me in the kitchen sink, So guys have a great time xx
I'm so glad you referenced Ben and Emily, especially the thoughtful way you did it. I never though my life would turn out in a way that means I can't wait for a canal boat Collab! 🤣🤣
I'm so glad you mentioned Ben and Emily as they are the only other narrowboat Vloggers I watch avidly alongside you guys. You all seem to be genuine boaters and just pour out great content with nothing glorified. Enjoy your time in travel mode.
I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful videos and sharing your life with us. I have quite a bit of stress in my life right now, and I just wanted you to know what a great escape it is for me to watch your videos. Thank you once again
I hope you 3 have a great little vacation. Can't wait to hear all about it. By the way, William is absolutely precious. He is such a happy little boy. You both are wonderful parents. ❤️💙❤️
Hope you 3 all have a great time away, and come back refreshed for the summer season. Classic comment at about 6 minutes .... with boats in the background, "I think we made it to the port". Another awesome and captivating video .... thank you.
A lovely Sunday morning surprise and as William would say, “Wow”. Only a young couple with boundless energy and enthusiasm could make all the journeys necessary to get on that ferry with a toddler in tow… yet still film it all for a vlog… 😮💪🏼😂
So true. I have always said, That is the reason God gave the privilege of having babies to the young. As an elder I wouldn't dream of taking this trip with a toddler in tow. William is a very lucky young boy to have such a wonderful mom & dad. He is truly blessed.
So lovely to see you guys getting a break before it gets busy. Hope you have a great time! You are just wonderfully chilled! Please bottle it and sell it! Lol!!xx
Fantastic!! You two are an inspiration. Just think of the memories you're creating. Thanks for this and for all the hard work you did to bring this to us. Stay well. John, Ontario, Camnada
The logistics and planning necessary for a young family to undertake a journey to the Continent with a toddler in tow, entirely reliant upon public transport is a testament to your ingenuity, good temperament and optimistic outlook. Well done.
@@BenandEmily we're all waiting for the canal boat Collab now!! I can already tell the swapping a mini figure for a homemade cake is going to be emotional!
What a great episode. Dunno how you managed to put together such an engaging video on a hectic family journey but it was wonderful to share. The sunrise didn't steal the show, William did. Loved his yawn after his late night. What a star!
Aaw! You had me going at the end Jo 😥. You must be so tired and yet excited at the thought of new sights, sounds and family time. Vic as ever is such a rock for you and William 👏👏. And everytime William says "wow" I find I have this stupid grin on my face. I totally agree about your opinion of the sea! Though born and brought up by the seaside I have seen how rough and angry it can get - hence the love and feeling of safety on a narrowboat! Enjoy Bilbao and look forward to seeing your onward journey to Portugal. 💕💙
Suuuuuuch a suvvly family!!!! You guys are beautiful:) Luv your total skillset. Video, story, editing pace, opennnesss... You are movie stars of 2023 really ...refreshing clean content!!! NO EGO!!!!
I hope things work out for you all in the long run 🌞 Good move to get a cabin, I think Ben, nice guy as he is, would only be bearable in small doses at best.
I absolutely love your family unit❤ little William is so adorable, i hope you are having a wonderful time together, I too got very emotional when Jo looked out at the port, no idea why 😢 then realised she was crying xx love n big hugs to you all xx
Thank you so much for sharing your travels 😊 What may seem mundane to you has given us much joy. Due to age and health we are not able to travel as much as we’d like to so we really enjoy your video blogs. We spent 5 years in England, Waldringfield and Ipswich, 1969 to 1974 in the US Air Force at RAF Bentwaters. Both or boys were born there. So Endland is very dear to us. Keep up the good work as we look forward to all you videos very much. Thank You!
Such a lovely vlog, I always look forward to seeing you all and what you are up to. Thank you for sharing your time. Enjoy your well earned break you deserve. Escaping the snowy, cold days of England. Xx
So glad to see you going for a complete break from the UK for a few days, you made me cry too as you arrived at Bilbao, it felt very emotional indeed. The lovely Ben & Emily I think may use a cabin next time after their uncomfortably journey. Enjoy your holiday & being with family xx
If you live in a home that is under 7ft wide and don't live minimally you are considered a hoarder... Not many families with small children where I am, in fact the last just moved out... mostly it's dads who share custody. Very brave raising kids in this amazing environment but very healthy. Check out the Bluebirds too...
Thank you for this lovely vlog! Enjoyed seeing the reality (the work involved) in tucking the boats into safe moorage and then all the connections you took. Watching from Canada - showed me an option of taking the ferry down to Portugal instead of flying. You two seem like amazing parents with a well adjusted little boy!
Got the newsletter Jo ! Hope your having a wonderful family visit. A newer narrowboat channel popped up and they happened to film going by Holly. Everyone in the comments were telling them how awesome you are. As always Health & Happiness.
Wonderfully filmed and edited. William is quite the walker. Nice to give a shout out to @BenandEmily Great that you are getting a break, and thank you so much for sharing. 😊🤗 Kathy
30 seconds before Jo cried, I did! It reminded me so much of family holidays crossing the channel with our touring caravan and more recently sailing to Shetland from Aberdeen. Such a lovely video which won't have been easy to film with 'our Bill' in tow to look out for. I cannot begin to imagine how 'challenging' travelling without a cabin would have been. xxxx
Lovely video again, thank you. Loved that you mentioned Ben and Emily too and the contrast between the ways that you travelled. We did this trip in 2009 and went for a cabin too. Some great Whale watching on both legs of the trip from the top deck (I can't remember what time of year it was though) - Have a great break guys
So very enjoyable to watch. You guys are living your life to the fullest. William is coming into his own. His personality reflects the kindness and love the two of you have shared with him. Your blessings are great. I love your videos so much.❤
Been to BILBOA back in 2007 on the Brittany Ferries, my son lives in PORTSMOUTH. Bilboa, bough loads of stuff, had a coffee and tapas in the shop close to the docks.. never made the city..YOU WILL adore Sevilla..🍊🍊🍊beautiful place..
You two are so amazing and such fun to watch. What an exhausting trip but the love and respect you have for each other is so lovely to see. Have a great time with your family 🤗
Thank you for sharing. It's great seeing how much public transportation there is in Europe. I've seen a couple of other ferries between countries. To me, it's amazing. Public transportation here in US is greatly lacking outside larger cities. Thanks again for sharing & I hope to see more of your trip! ❤️
A bit of a busman’s holiday, or should I say, a bargeman’s holiday? Great vlog and nice to see you getting some time away from the narrowboats. While you’re away, you’ll realise just how much you miss them.
I'll have to say, William was a real trouper on this part of your trip. He was so cute checking out everything in the playroom. I am amazed you have travelled on so many trains and buses and everything just to get to this part of the journey. I hope y'all have a wonderful time and can get just a wee bit of filming in for us land lubbers. Have a Blessed vacation.
I loved it. Thank you for taking us along ❤. William is growing so fast. My son’s name is William also. Named after our English ancestors. He’s my baby and he’s 43 lol😂
Crossing my fingers, crossing my knees and braiding my hair in hopes that you will take the camera around Bilbao because I have never been. And I don’t think I ever will (whaaa! 😢 like I am a 12 year old). I will enjoy it, very much. I know how it is when you are somewhere new and with family. Taking a camera is simply too much work so I expect nothing. I have truly enjoyed this journey and I thank you for taking us and showing us what you have shown us. I can’t get a handle on Bill’s personality. I often see that glint in his eye that is present in every prankster with a healthy sense of humor. But I don’t remember seeing him playing a prank on either one of you. But maybe I am not meant to know him that well. I enjoy watching him and watching both of you parenting him. He is observant and comfortable outside the narrowboat and you two both treat him like the baby that he is but you engage with him as a short man. Lucky kid and I appreciate any footage of him and life with him as you allow. My youngest grandson is 9 and my oldest in his 20s. I love them both and will equally love their children but I enjoy watching Bill with zero/none/zilch responsibility. I am simply observing and I don’t need to take notes. Thank you. Thank you very much. I am having trouble typing the voice and rhythm of Elvis. I was trying to look like him with my thanks but even knowing that, it looks nothing like him at all. I truly hope that you enjoyed your little vacation.
What a good lad William is, that is a long journey for adults but for a little one, enormous, always good to see your VLOGs, hope you enjoyed yourselves, be looking out for you on the waterside!
Fantastic episode. We’ve done so much ferry travelling on foot since our kid was as little as William and we’ve always loved it too. Just like you I get really emotional arriving in a new country by ferry or by train. I don’t know why but there’s a really special appreciation of the beauty around us when we travel this way. ❤
Que viaje tan bonito. Os veo desde Madrid, España y me hace muy feliz que esteis en España. Bilbao es muy bonito. Espero que os guste. Disfrutar de vuestras vacaciones. Bssw
That video was a treat, Would not fancy that journey with no car myself. We took our caraven to Bilbao a few summers ago, saw lots of Orcas and Dolphins. You and us were lucky with the Bay of Biscay. Have fun in Portugal, looking forward to the video
Thank you for the inter🎉sting video. Your confidence in going places and doing things you’ve not done before is admirable. That’s not the right word, but it is a wonderful character trait. Good for you.
Lovely video, reminds me how hard it is traveling with a baby in tow. I think William had a super time, he took the crowds and everything else in his stride. Take care you 3. Lots love. X
Great episode!!! Oh the fun and hectic nature of travel especially with kids. What fun times for William, staying up late partying and a game room to hang out in. I love to travel, especially road trips where you can go at your own pace. My wife and kids have no patience for it, but me, I would rather drive then fly. I think taking the ferry was terrific, it looked relaxing and the rooms looked very clean. I am sure you could probably fly to your destination, but what fun is that. Have fun!!!!

Have only just found this channel. Plenty of catching up to do. Expect loads of thumbs up from me.

We did the Ferry to Santander over 20 years ago when the kids were small, a great trip, super cabin, happy days, enjoy your hols.
