I live down near Huntington but took a trip up to Redondo since it’s been quiet between here and Newport. Was in the mood for mackerel and I finally got some bites. Still not as hot as it should be, but hoping it picks up and the bonito run by soon
Thanks for the kind words! Go on Amazon and search up berrypro shadow hunter 12' rod, it is a $60 rod that works just fine, I use it in my videos. For the reel get the daiwa bg 4000, it costs around $110 and $30 to put line on it, out of the door you should pay around $200. $200 is a bit much for a budget setup but it should last you 10 years easy and is comfortable, this setup will catch you plenty of fish!
@@DerrickVan thanks for the recommendation Derrick! looking forward to try out the berrypro pole. I haven't fished in LA since I moved from Hawaii but your videos has got me itching to go fishing!
The 7th and 8th, ill be going on Saturday and sunday if everything goes to plan. I normally am there Saturday 4-7 and Sunday 2-5. I'll message you on instagram
Is it good to use ugly stick gx2 rod medium action with those green feathers?, btw I was doing really good with sabiki rigs today at Redondo until my 2 setups got tangled up together pretty bad 😐What kind of setup do you use?
I am not familiar with ugly sticks, I have one that is way too light for throwing sabiki so I dont know if yours if too light aswell. I use a 12' rod and a Daiwa bg reel. I like to use a 3oz sinker and try to keep ky line as tight as possible to give the fish little wiggle room. Congrats on your catch at redondo!
They do bite at night but you have to use bait. This year has been a little tough fishing so you just have to get lucky. Come around 4pm to sunset for the best time to get a bite

@@vincents2056 you're welcome! Hope you are able to go out and catch a bunch of fish!
When a fish bite should I still jerk the sabiki lure?
I do to set the hook so that any more fish that want to bite gets hooked but if I don't jerk it I just reel slow
Nice video bro. Whats the best time to fish there at redondo beach pier.
Thank you, I like from 4pm-sunset. In the summertime they come a little bit earlier than 4pm
Thanks bro
@@arnelalimboyoguen9630 Youre welcome bro! I would appreciate if you subscribe as well 👍

@@DerrickVan ok thanks. Show us how to make a sbiki rig sometime.
Great video bro! When do you think the bite will be on in Hermosa beach?
