Very good instruction. One comment though and you probably already know this.... but using a UV light with resins can be tricky. It doesn't take very long to cure qaulity resins and all too often I see individuals holding the light for long periods over the resin. UV resin thermally out gasses and if too much heat is applied you can actually fry the resin and it will discolor. Rather then holding the light for long periods, it is always good practice to shorten the light curing times. I have done tests on UV resins and realized through trial and error that if a fly designer wants crystal clear results then shorter drying times with the UV light is the way to go. I just found your channel and have subscribed. Being new to your channel I don't know your location so I assume it is not the USA. I have several friends in Denmark and Austria that tie flys and have learned a great deal from them. I fresh water fish in the USA in Alabama and although I don't fly fish much, I still learn techniques from dividuals like yourself. I primarily tie smallmouth and crappie jigs and also striper jigs. Anyway, thanks for sharing your expertise and knowledge. Look forward to watching your videos and going back and catching up on the old ones. Take care...God bless and tight lines.

Hell yeah more Fly-Dressing videos! Nice one Niklaus. The big plus for epoxy nowadays is especially the price point. UV resin is really expensive compared to a big bottle of epoxy, other than that i prefer to go with a UV resin, its just more comfortable to work with.

Great video. I’ve always struggled with air bubbles in my resin heads. Never thought of keeping the bottles upside down. Thanks.

you can also light á lighter close ( but be careful!!) close to the head and that will "suck out the airbubbles".

It looks like you’re using Gulff resin. I’ve never tried it, but really like the viscosity of that Thin Man. I’ve been using Loon Flow, but find it can really soak into the materials and run. Great video.

Best lamp is the one I have that plugs into the wall. Best 15 bucks I ever spent. No loss of curing. 100% every time.

    Enjoyed the video.
Where do you get the precision tips for your resins? I currently use Loon resins but not a big fan of the plastic tips.

    Hei
That head looks very nice… but one question, is that amount of glue is not making your fly go to jigg action?

I have recently purchased UV resin and Hero UV light from Gulff, I wonder how many streamers like this you can make out of one resin package. Because it looks like massive amount is used for each piece.

So do these resin heads affect action as well? Seems it would glide through the water with less friction and drag maybe making them turn harder in the pause?

have you tried using silicone ( like Gunnar Brammer does sometimes)??
I really like how it comes out but it takes ( ofcourse)á while to cure.

Great video. One comment - UV Resin is not a good adhesive, so eyes need to be covered over with resin to be secured.
