    I bet Yoda's home world is under the protection of the force in wild space. This would explain why no one has found it and if Yoda's species are force sensitive, then it would make sense that while their planet is in wild space, the force keeps the dark influence away, thus keeping his home world remaining a secret. Or just maybe his species are naturally hermits are were on the very swamps he trained Luke on. Hiding in plain sight.

    I have two theories of why Yoda keeps his species secret:
    1) Yoda wants to keep his species safe from the wider galaxy;
    2) Yoda wants to keep the wider galaxy safe from his species.
    The second one is actually terrifying. What if Yoda and Yaddle were exiled because they are the only ones who practice the light among their species? What if their species are incredibly strong in the dark?

    • @baldrian22

      i do like the second one, maybe he, and others of his species are afraid that their species would be influenced by darkness. there might also be rakatha tech laying along considering the rakathas hyperspace technology was able to bring them to worlds with large amounts of force sensitives. when yoda for a fraction of a second showed duku what he would be capable if he turned to the darkness duku was REALY afraid and realised yoda would be even stronger than palpatine. and if others from his species can be simularly powerfull i can see why they would want to keep their planets location safe and not have their people potentialy influenced by the darker sides of the rest of the galaxy because of the potential devistation that could happend if this was to occur. the Sith species and the rakatha was quite powerfull afther all but only a few of the sith species was on or close to the level that Yoda was and if there was the norm that they could grow to that level of strength and their species fell to the darkside afther beeing influenced? the rest of the galaxy wouldent stand a chance.
      ofc there might be a multitude of other reasons to. like their planet might be a key point keeping some imense threat from the other side of the hyperspace barrier away (or whatever the thing spliting the galaxy in two is called) be inthe deep core, be a planet ouside of the galaxy, be a planet that might have some realy bad desises that yodas species is imune to, but that could kill of a large amount of species or a bunch of other things. or Yoda might just enjoy beeing a prick not telling people about it, he might have been exiled for something to.

    My biggest question about the Yoda Species is;
    If they are so naturally attuned to and powerful with the Force, why didnt the Tho Yor take any of them to Tython?
    Were they already powerful enough in the Force that they didnt need to be taken to Tython to learn and master it? Or did their strong connection to the Force develop in the species after the Tho Yor gathered species to take to Tython?
    Is it possible that they weren't collected by the Tho Yor becuase they were the ones that created them in the pre-history of the Galaxy? Perhaps they were the original natives of Tython but ended up leaving because of the planet's extreme climate changes that occur as the galactic balance of the force changes, much like the later Jedi would?

    "Good relations with the wookies I have" perhaps they originate from kasheek from the shadow lands? Wookies being larger and more numerous and having contact with other species first would naturally be assumed the dominant sentient beings of their world while Yoda and his kind evolved to be able to hide from predators rather than take them head on. Ancient sith tampering with evolution on kasheek accounts for being highly force sensitive.

    As a newer SW fan who is obsessed with Grogu, I appreciate this info. Other vids talked about Yoda and Yaddle but not these Legends characters.
    I like the theory that they are swamp-dwellers. I didn't know Dave Filoni said Yoda spoke like that to honor his master. I, personally, had a headcanon that the Yoda species are not naturally verbal on their home world. Yoda had to learn once he left which may explain his odd speaking pattern, and the fact that Grogu still hasn't spoken at 50+. (Yaddle was exposed young enough to not have Yoda's "accent" the way multilingual speakers who learn young can go back and forth.) If they are all force sensitive then they can all communicate mentally through the force. Because Grogu is further advanced cognitively than he is verbally. (He understands what Din Djarin says to him, and can nod back or use IG-12's buttons.) In humans, "Toddlers" are aged 1-2 and should be speaking. But a child as smart as Grogu would be older. More like 5ish--he has advanced some from season 1. Of course, keeping him hidden could also account for his lack of verbal communication. I don't know if he was just closed up in that pram or not. But you need to learn language from hearing it from others.

    I wouldn't be at all surprised if yoda's home world is already affiliated with the galactic Republic in some capacity, and it's just not known that his species lives there. I'm following the same line of thinking as the mandalorian coverts. They're hiding in plain sight, but their species' natural camouflage and affinity with the force keeps them hidden. I'm sure it helps they don't fly around in technicolor buckets.

    I would love in canon that Yoda's species age is determined by their affinity and mastery of The Force. Grogu is 50 years old and an infant because his mastery in the force is that of a child. Yoda is old because his mastery in the force is well matured. Even Yoda passing from old age was from achieving oneness with the Force.

  • @KyleTaylorDesigns
    @KyleTaylorDesigns Год назад +3

    I have two theories; not totally based on much, but not out of the realm of possibility either. Just for fun consideration.
    1. Exiles of the Dark Side Theory: I present this theory that Yoda's species are originate from the Unknown or Uncharted region of the galaxy. There what has been known accounts of beginnings with very strong affinity to the force, mostly what is considered the dark side. With Yoda's species being unusually adept force users even from a young age and acquire mastery relatively quick when compared to most other species and since there are so few of their kind in recorded record in the known galaxy, they must originate from outside. But why the Dark Side you might ask. Well it's most common alignment of force abilities in the unknown region that's been recorded. And if this were true nature of their kind, it would make sense that a grandmaster of the order would not want knowledge of their kind known for fear that the Sith could exploit them, or that the Jedi would mount a crusade to destroy them. And it also explains why there are so few throughout the galaxy at any given time; they may have been exiled from their home world or cast out of their culture due to a number of unknown reasons. But the one reason I believe would be for exile especially if they are a dark side species, is that if the individuals have the affinity for light side abilities which could be deemed unnatural to their beliefs.
    2. The Force Born Theory. This being more of a fun theory, suggests that Yoda's people only have a finite number of their kind alive at any given time, and when on of their kind dies and becomes one with the force, a new member of their species are born in to existence. Born or hatched from the sheer will of the force itself from their unknown home world with no conventional paternal parent, the young will grown, survive and hone their natural born force abilities until they are able to adapt into the galactic culture. But what's their purpose? To serve as a liaisons for light side of the force or even the unknowing hand of the Wills, to maintain the balance and train others to see the light. When one of their species passes on, they return to be one with the force, a new member of their kind is born and though their growth, they will commune with the force and their predecessor to learn from their collected knowledge and experience.

    You know, we only see members of Yoda's species that are Force sensitive. Maybe their species naturally doesnt have a strong connection to the Force and they exile any members that show a connection.
    So everybody is running around looking for a planet and species thats incredibly strong in the Force when really they should be looking for a planet that is essentially a weak point in the Force or a planet where the flow of the Force is very shallow.
    This could possibly be why the members that are Force sensitive have such a strong connection to the Force, because they basically take up the entire species connection at the time of their birth. Similar to how the Sith Rule of 2 works by creating only two living vessels into which the power of the Dark Side is held, by only spawning a Force sensitive being once ever hundred or two hundred years, all of the species connection to the Force is condensed into that being.
    Basically, my theory is that Yoda's species was visited by the Rakata or some other ancient species that would hunt and enslave species strong in the Force and as a result began a cultural practice of "hiding" their world from other Force sensitive cultures by removing the members of their species connection to the Force at birth, placing it in 1 being every hundred years or so, then sending that being off of the planet so that even if someone were to feel that being's connection to the Force and tried to hunt them down, that being would be so far from their homeworld that the "hunter" would have no idea where they actually came from.

      Except: That is not how the Sith Rule of 2 works. Lesser beings that are force sensitive are either not trained as Sith, and are simply Dark Side adepts - such as how Sidious uses the Inquisitors (most of them former Temple Guards but spared by pledging themself to the dark side). Any other beings are killed - as when Sidious considers Maul no longer an apprentice but a rival when he has taken Anakin as apprentice and named him Darth Vader. The force does not "create" two living vessels - the Sith manipulate the Force into having only two vessels. This goes into the main difference between the Jedi and the Sith in how they interact with the Force. The Jedi seek guidance from the Force. The Sith seek to dominate the Force.

    I think you too-quickly discount two things. The first is that Grogu might be more of a rambunctious child or teenager than a 'baby'. It was fans who championed calling him 'baby Yoda', not the character. If that's the case, then Yoda at 100 years old might be closer to his early 20s (in relative terms), which is about Obi-wan's age when he began training Anakin. The second is just how non-linear maturation can be. Within just a few years humans undergo significant changes in puberty which can cause some people to grow ~10 inches and almost entirely change their physique. Given that as a comparison, Grogu might just be a puberty (or two) away from being mature.

    In interviews, Lucas has called Yoda "an elf", and the novelization of Episode V says the same thing. In my head canon, Yoda's people are the Elves of the Star Wars Galaxy---an entire race of Force mystics, like the Mystics from "The Dark Crystal" or Tolkien's Elves.

Yoda's species just age really slowly and due to that, they have low birth rates. They are basically like the chozo from the Metroid series. You're using real life science in star wars. Example. You are at the Jedi temple, get in a ship and hypersoace jump to some very outer edge planet. When you get back to the temple, everyone that you left behind will be much much older when you get back.

Yoda probably knew that his thoughts could betray him so he in his mind has cemented that his name is Yoda

    If yoda species age ten times slower compared to a human, grogu would be 5 years old and yoda would be 10 years old when he started teaching.
    I don't think he started as a regular official jedi teacher, i think he used to help the younglings when he was a padawan himself. He might have stayed a padawan a long time, perhaps even outliving his masters, he wouldn't be old enough to become a Jedi knight for at least 80 years.
    If you consider 7 years of age to be the point where education and life experience becomes 'solid' within a child's mind, yoda at 100 years old would already have 30 years of experience and education. Doesn't matter if his mind and body would still be childish, yoda as a kid would be as valuable as a Jedi master, so i think he begin to act as a master at a very young age for him, and the other masters must have kind of made a bling eye to him teaching despite being a padawan.

    I have one theory. Yoda actually says, "For 800 years have I trained Jedi. My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained." From that, I don't get that Yoda is of any particular age, but that this is how long he's been training Jedi. He could be 4000 years old as far as I can tell and I'm good with that.

  • @stevenwilliams3182

    About the pace at which Yoda's species ages, my theory is that Yoda's species doesn't mature in a linear fashion like most species do. Instead, they stay in the juvenile "baby yoda" form and just absorb experiences with the mind of a child for as long as is necessary for them to build up the necessary wisdom and understanding of the universe. Then once they have hit a certain tipping point in life experiences, they actually metamorphose within a cocoon and come out in their adult form, ready to speak and interact with the universe in a more active way. This way of development allows them to be more in touch with their feelings and other living things, and that is why they are so strong in the force. :)

    Yoda's homeworld is in the unknown regions, it is so very ancient and hidden that it's species was rarely seen across the galaxy . In times of darkness one would often appear living for a millennium witnessing changing galaxies and threats but becoming wise legendary jedi . The Prime Jedi visited the mysterious homeworld of the yoda species at some point 25'000 years before the battle of yavin , making up the majority of the first ever jedi knights. The Jedi Order thrived until one of it's members a human known as Ajunta Pall formed a splinter group who became the very first sith, horrified the Jedi fought valiantly and defeated them time and time again . The yoda species were weakened by the Hundred year darkness of the sith and shut off the homeworld to self preserve, given the legendary reputation of this species it makes no surprise that the origins of the Jedi Order have this species to thank for it's early success.

It made it hard for those on the dark side to find him. Their Spencer's would be overwhelmed with the Darkside, making it hard to find him.

    I would like it if Yoda's Species was from another Galaxy all together. A friend once told me about a story which I assume is now Legends that the Sith's origin in the Galaxy was from another one where the Sith ruled supreme and that for some reason they tried to come to this Galaxy but before the entire contingent could get through a vision had been seen that threatened their power in their own Galaxy. So the Gate or what ever it was was shut forever abandoning the ones that were in the first wave. I think it would be fun if Yoda's species was doing something similar but instead of sending entire contingents they were sending only scouts in a continuous way to test the waters of this Galaxy or help mold it to one day be able to join a larger community of Galaxies. But the continuous conflicts resulting from the Sith presence has not let them do anymore.
    A bit of a side note has George Lucas ever given a reason why he wont give Yoda's species concrete data or is he just being a dick? I feel like it's a bit childish of a thing to do seeing that Yoda and the rest do so much for the Galaxy as a whole.

    or if one can be a master only when they're adults, maybe the adolescence period for the species is at a faster rate compared to let's say humans, so if it completes like around 20 years, and if it starts at around the age of 70-80 , even then by the age of 100 the species would be in their adulthood, making Yoda be a master to other Jedi at the time
