The Zabrak has always been one of my favorite species because of their high pain threshold and Darth Maul is arguably the prime example. His harsh training under Darth Sidious and martial prowess made him a powerful foe in battle.
Darth Maul was prime example of using Force to amplify wielders own power to horrifyingly high levels. Something Kreia would most likely approved and harshly reprimanded his obsessive personality.
But IMHO Darth Maul was simply as trapped and in pain as Darth Vader was. Obi Wan discovered that in the final battle he had everything Maul cared about taken from him just as everything from Obi Wan was (Qui Gon Jinn, Satine Kryse, others). So at Maul's end, Obi Wan truly felt compassion for him. Probably said he would have made an incredible Jedi had things been different. I could have called you friend.
Why would you. Place is a helscap. Their Jedi mid witches and it’s a full plant of cultists exstreamist who kill all outsiders by using their bare fist infused with bazerker/resurrection magic.
Fascinating. Shame the Zabraks and Twi’leks never had any political alliances, they would have made formidable allies against the slavers and the Mandalorians that attacked each species. Not mention they are kind of sister species being engineered from the same machine.
Thanks for clarifying Maul's backstory. I had thought his mother gave her son to Sidious as his padawan as a symbol of their alliance. It makes sense that Sidious kidnapped Maul as a child.
I love these lore videos, they're incredibly informative and I'm glad you explained the difference between Dathomirian and Iridonian Zabrak. I'd love to see the twi'lek or even wookiees next.
In canon there are no differences at all. Dathomirian Zabraks are merely a subspecies. In legends however, Dathomirians are a hybrid species between Zabrak’s and humans.
I never knew there were artificial races in Star Wars. Or that Dathomerian Zabraks were influenced in this way, i mean it was obvious from the clone wars series but I never knew there was a split.
Most of this isn't current canon; everything about the Rakata is from Legends. There's nothing wrong with keeping up the Legends information but it's pretty sloppy to not distinguish those sources.
Roughly 60%+ of the galaxy is "artificial" races I'm sure. The Precursor empire of the SW Galaxy had the tech and know-how to re-arrange star systems and terraform planets with roughly the same casual disregard you might re-arrange furniture in your home. I'm sure about half of the galaxy's species are, in some way, the direct result of their work. This same empire used the Rakata as slaves until their disappearance, at which point the Rakata became the big boys in town. And the Rakata then also created new species of their own. (Thanks be to our Rakatan overlords for creating the perfect Star Wars waifu race: Twi'leks) So really, with the possible exception of yoda's species (I think they are confirmed to pre-date the Rakata as a species according to Legends) and potentially humans as well, most of the SW galaxy is "life-seeded" species.
Well the Wookies are also a creation of the Rakata as they have said Kashykk is not their native homeworld. It's beginning to look like perhaps the Empire's "human only" stance is due in part to humans being the only naturally evolved race. Hear me out. It is said in Legends that there was a great ancient war between species on Coruscant. The Taug and the Zhell which were human. The Zhell drove out the Taug who in turn became the precursor of the Mandalorians. The Zhell remained on what is modern Coruscant. So the humans naturally evolved while other races were "genetically engineered" by the Rakata. It's also noted in Legends that the Iridonian had developed hyperspace technology on their own as well as the Hergalic (sentient dolphins, seals, etc) and that by the time of the Ancient Republic both were seeking contact.
@@KRYMauL The Sith WERE a species, they didn't turn into it because of the dark side Ajunta Pall and several other Dark Jedi landed on Korriban after being exiled from Republic space, they found the Sith living there, Ajunta Pall killed their king and the Sith praised him and the Dark Jedi as Gods Pall became the first "Dark Lord of the Sith" and started the first Sith Empire

Maaan, THIS was REALLY GOOD!!! I loved learning about the rogue jedi who started the female sect!! I'd like to see a comic book story on ALL of this!! Would be a fun historical story!!
In canon, she is not a human. Dathomirians in canon are not a hybrid species at all, they are a mere Zabrak subspecies. This video mixed legends and canon lore fore some reason.
In the April Fool's joke perpetuated by Star Wars dot com in 2006, wherein the world from Willow, Andowyne, was listed as a part of Star Wars canon, it was suggested that Balmora, the evil sorceress, was also a Night Sister. I've even seen it suggested that she was the older sister of Charal who stranded her with the marauders before leaving to conquer Andowyne. Obviously not even canon in the old EU, but a fun tidbit nonetheless.
OH MY GOD, That's what that movie was! I watched that on a VHS from my local library like three times when I was a kid! It was so weird. Edit: It may have been Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure
Tried to kill Darth Bain in vain! 😉 Had Bain won his final duel being older, his power fading, why train anew? Rule of 2 only improves if the master's killed at the height of power. Quite the weakness!
Hey that’s be kinda cool ngl, like imagine how’d that help you in combat, just jab them with your horns, like what savage did to that Jedi who’s name I forget.

A favorite species of mine is the Rattataki..... before Asajj Ventress's origin was changed to Zabrak/Human at least. I hope they come back.
They do show up in Resistance Reborn, but we don't know how they look
In canon, she is not a human. Dathomirians in canon are not a hybrid species at all, they are a mere Zabrak subspecies. This video mixed legends and canon lore fore some reason.
But have you ever hear the tragedy of Raid the Shadow Legend?
Great, informative, and researched.
I'm binge watching all your videos
Edit:
It may have been Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure
Hello new to your channels, good stuff btw! you done one of these on the Gen’dai race? Would love to see that if you haven’t!
Wow this is very eye opening.
can you do the kaleesh? they dont get enough love
I think Savage & Maul, are not 'True' Zabraks; but rather are dathomirians, a highly hybridized species/half breed
yeah I get into that toward the end
@@MetaNerdzLore I watched 👍 maul often confused with a pureblood zabrak; understandably
Half Human an Half Zabrak just like Ventress
Awesome , well done Love to listen to those Lore Videos
Awesome work! 💯
Ichor is not pronounced "eye-cor". It is ih-kur.
Tried to kill Darth Bain in vain! 😉 Had Bain won his final duel being older, his power fading, why train anew? Rule of 2 only improves if the master's killed at the height of power. Quite the weakness!
Zabrak are awesome, Kao Cen Darachs lightsaber battle in the SW:TOR Trailer is the best
lightsaber combat I've ever seen, such a badass! 💪
I am a HUGE fan of the zabraks and I’m SOO glad this video was made!! My nerd heart is exploding!!! Everything about them is just so awesome lol
Calm down about the sponsors y’all that’s how channels are able to stay up and going
4:28 when they turn 12 years old, they get pieces of _bone_ growing out of their head more? And I thought hair everywhere was bad...
No more different than you growing in height with age
Hey that’s be kinda cool ngl, like imagine how’d that help you in combat, just jab them with your horns, like what savage did to that Jedi who’s name I forget.
Kian Long thx
say goodbye to sleeping on pillows
Wow, I was just waiting for a real video on the Zabrak
They always were my favorite species to play in the Star Wars: Saga Edition RPG
The main reason I’m interested in zabraks is because the female zabrak character in Star Wars Jedi knight Jedi academy is thicc
I have a Zabrak in SWTOR that's based on her. We just need BioWare to add tattoo body art to make it more JKJA authentic.
I applaud your taste.
TFW no dummy thicc Zabrak GF to cuddle.
Wasnt the phantom menace released in 1999 not 2001 19:29
lmao i noticed that too
Nice vid man!!! Love if u did the trandoshans/ twileks!
yeah those are on the list
@@MetaNerdzLore sweet!!! Thank you so much(:
Perhaps the Rakatta kidnapped regular humans and then used them as a template from which to design these other humanoids?
In canon, Dathomirian Zabraks are not human hybrids. They are fully Zabrak. Dathomirians are a mere subspecies of Zabrak, not a human/zabrak hybrid species.
Me when I see metanerdz talk about raid: YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE
It was said you would refuse the cheap blanket sponsors! Not join them!
@@secretbaguette bring balance to the sponsorship not leave it unbalanced
@@samsarex4318 *sweats in running out of meme*
Zabrak are some of my favorite; interesting design, lots of variation, super badass, and very interesting lore.
Damn! That's some amazing lore!
