Like the new advanced trainer aircraft (T-BE5A Yongying) of the Taiwan Air Force this time, it is not because the Italian M362 and the South Korean T-50 Golden Eagle are inferior to the T-BE5A Yongying, but because of cost and political considerations. It can reduce research and development costs, logistical burden, and revitalize Taiwan's aviation manufacturing industry, which is already on the verge of decline, because one thing must be clearly understood, whether it is F-16 or Mirage 2000, their initial design requirements are to meet the needs of the air force of the manufacturing country , After they came to Taiwan, they needed more time to adjust.

One point you did not make clear in your video. Are the T5 Yǒngyīng Supersonic Advanced Jet Trainers going to be conversions of existing FC1Ks or are they going to be new build airframes?
Intrestingly the AIDC T-5 Brave Eagle is largely based on the FC-1K Air Defense Fighter, with plans to develop an attack version called AT-5, which could be developed a sucessor to the FC-1K below the capability of the F-16V
the tc-2a and air-launched hf-2 had been canceled during the prototype phase because of the sold approval of agm-84 and agm-88, so they are never in servoce. and also t-5 use a no ab version of f-125, called f-124, so its not going to supersonic
As an American, I am fine with the use of the metric system for size but can you please, in future videos, add the pounds of thrust for the engines (I know, we're weird)? I have no idea what the conversion is from Kn (outside of looking it up). Thanks...☺

The official name of the Taiwanese Army academy is called the Chinese Military Academy. Most Taiwanese high ranking officers are 2nd generation mainlander who don’t see themselves as Taiwanese and they despise pro-independence Taiwanese activists and the Taiwanese language( a Chinese dialect from Fujian province by the way). Back in the 60s, they would get pissed when foreigners called their country Taiwan.
I wish the Philippines had acquired this back in the 1990’s instead of the failed F/A-18 bid. Would’ve been more possible to still acquiring it for being cheaper and most closely aligned with a South East Asian country during the Asian Financial Crisis. But Alas Philippines still figuring out till now to get the F-16V or Gripen.
@H L The problem is that, the country will need fighters than "rescue equipment" as they're probably the only country with no dedicated Multirole Fighter jet as they only have 12 FA-50s, which are smaller than the F-16s. Also, they'll require 3 Squadrons of it as the Philippines' Fighter Wing is somewhat being left out among its South East Asian neighbors in the fighter department, especially that the tensions with its major adversary might come closer than we think, so it's best to gear them up with the best military assets if they're to counter the threat being posed by China and other potential adversaries.
@H L The threat of insurgents will eventually decrease. Also, the armed forces are shifting their efforts in strengthening their defense posture against external threats now as the nation is now in dire need of dedicated main assets for the defense of the nation, which include tanks, fighter aircrafts and utility aircrafts, missile defense systems, surveillance radars, and more warships.
@H L Maybe there's no active external threat at the moment, but it's best for the Armed Forces of the Philippines to be prepared in advance in case of such scenarios, especially that China will pose a serious threat to the nation. Eventually, China will possibly attack, especially how great of a threat they can pose. Whether you like it or not, China is a great threat for the Philippine Armed Forces and to its allies. It's better to prepare than letting ourselves have lots of equipment not meant for countering enemy external forces, as they'll need necessary weapons to act as deterrence against the Chinese forces
@H L China didn't own the South China Sea, for it is very far from the indicated Exclusive Economic Zone. China had also committed multiple violations. Also, the Philippines and the ASEAN Nations have more rights than China. So you better clear your mind
@H L China doesn't have any historical proof for it. As for the 9 Dash Line of China, it's almost as if they merely draw it and claims it as "historical proof" even though China is faking it. The proof that the Philippines had a claim is by an old Spanish era map, which has the Philippines in its domain, which is the great proof which wins the Philippines on its Arbitration Case against China. Also, the issue of the Falklands is a different case, compared to the issue, compared to the South China Sea/ West Philippine Sea issue. So, it's too bad that you're being misinformed by the fake Chinese news.

At the same time, Ching-Kuo shouldn't have 5500Km range for sure. 1200Km might be a better number.
the F-CK-1 Ching-Kuo (Block III) multi role air dominance fighter should be ROCAF's first line of defense in aerial interception . . . followed by simultaneous retaliatory action by long range SAM . . . both land based & naval guided missile air defense frigates & corvettes . . .
Some elder Taiwanese said that US government relaxed restrictions on selling F-16 and Mirage2000 is a conspiracy from US government. Because ROC government reduced output of IDF and bought F-16,Mirage 2000. The most important of all is ROC government cut expenses for developing more aircrafts for ROCAF, and many staffs left for South Korea . I heard ROC want to team up with South Korea to make fifth-generation jet fighter for ROCAF but I am not sure it’s real or not.
I was working on f-ck-1 based fighter jet(vf-17) 3d model for my fictional war scenarios of my crappy fictional countries. I finished the rear sections.
Taiwan need submarines and rotational expeditionary air force with joint training with the Philippines and U.S. Have units outside the country for a secondary counter strike missions anticipating invasion from the PLA.
Anyway, the new AIDC T-5, accurately shown in this video as basically an improved F-CK-1 variant, is supposed to basically replace the aging F-5 fleet. Compared to the F-5, the new T-5 is an improvement. However, it's still an old school 4th gen design and if you look at it next to the newer and far more numerous Chinese fighter jets ... it looks pretty hopeless, doesn't it? But I think the war in Ukraine is forcing a reassessment of priorities. Advanced SAM systems and long range surface-to-surface weapon systems may be more important for Taiwan's defense, rather than trying to compete toe-to-toe with Chinese aviation in the skies. In those areas, Taiwan seems to have good systems.
I'm pleasantly surprised to hear my name "Kuo" pronounced correctly. For so many years, I gave up on trying to explain the "kwah" pronunciation. I just tell people "quo" as in "status quo". My father's Taiwanese, but very much hates the KMT, obviously including the F-CK-1's namesake Chiang Ching-Kuo. I remember back before the democratic revolution, for some reason we got a shiny brochure in the mail with color pictures of the F-CK-1 jet fighter. I just thought it was a cool looking jet fighter, but my dad looked at it like ... well he didn't literally spit on it, but I could tell that's how he felt.
This aircraft looks like the underdog that can prove to be the top gun in a close-quarters knife fight with even the mighty F15 screaming eagle which might just be left screaming obscenities when the FCK1 makes it realize that it's just FCked lmao who chose the name for this fighter anyways I just love it!

Oh, ok.
As an American, I am fine with the use of the metric system for size but can you please, in future videos, add the pounds of thrust for the engines (I know, we're weird)? I have no idea what the conversion is from Kn (outside of looking it up). Thanks...☺
KN = 980 kg and equal 980 x 2.2 pound.
During my study in the US, i am always bother why you guys never change to the metric system?? Almost all of them in the earth use the metric system..........
@@yukin1990 we were on our way to doing so, then Reagan made an executive order in the early 80s abolishing our conversion process to metric. they took down all the dual signage. smh.
@@molochi well....why...
@@yukin1990 Why? Probably something ideologically linked to thinking that the 1950s represented "best 'Murica."
2:31 during Reagan era, arms sales to ROC (Taiwan) got even stricter, F-20 Tigers Shark and even the downgraded F-16/J79 sales to ROC (Taiwan) was never approve by the Reagan administration. ROC (Taiwan) did got the chance to purchased 40~60 2nd hand F-21 Kfir to replace the aging F-104G before the F-CK-1 go into service, but this sales fell short to over pricing.
Am I the only one who finds the name of it really… interesting?
The official name of the Taiwanese Army academy is called the Chinese Military Academy. Most Taiwanese high ranking officers are 2nd generation mainlander who don’t see themselves as Taiwanese and they despise pro-independence Taiwanese activists and the Taiwanese language( a Chinese dialect from Fujian province by the way). Back in the 60s, they would get pissed when foreigners called their country Taiwan.
Send All These Cheenas Back to China
If I am correct they have very good anti Air defance system ( basically American patriot copy paste with almost same anti Air missile) plus 70 f16 block 70
@H L你家習犬知道你在這謊話連篇嗎?哈哈
The range is incorrect in the video -- 10:57 5,500km? This range is twice as much as the B1B bomber.
B-1B has a max range of 12,000km tho
@@justsomerandomweeb9323 You are be right, and this depends on the task. I just searched on Wiki and B1B's Max range is 12000km (I guess without any weapon load), and 9400Km with 37k lb weapon load, while its combat range is around 5500km. My comment was incorrect. At the same time, Ching-Kuo shouldn't have 5500Km range for sure. 1200Km might be a better number.
I F-CKING LOVE the F-CK-1! F-CK IT!
the F-CK-1 Ching-Kuo (Block III) multi role air dominance fighter should be ROCAF's first line of defense in aerial interception . . . followed by simultaneous retaliatory action by long range SAM . . . both land based & naval guided missile air defense frigates & corvettes . . .
Looks like a Hornet and a Falcon had a baby.
Thank you for pointing out that war between the US and China will be NUCLEAR. The best scenario is keep the status quo and avoid war.
They can start develop a new type MRCA to replace this F-CK-1. Probably under designation F-CK-2.
I heard ROC want to team up with South Korea to make fifth-generation jet fighter for ROCAF but I am not sure it’s real or not.
rellay
@@shengchelin6462 I am a Taiwanese so I am sure about that.
The Philippines Air Force should buy these.
Malaysian Air Force should buy this as well because F-5E is so good.
I will fly it, in my future life.
I was working on f-ck-1 based fighter jet(vf-17) 3d model for my fictional war scenarios of my crappy fictional countries. I finished the rear sections.
I always think it looks close to a twin engined F16... 🙈
Please do a video on Gotland-class submarine
Why they don't named it FCK - U just to troll Mainland.
That is what I thought too. Instead of C's and D's, they should have just named them F-CK - U for the upgraded version.
@@brianjoy2009 nonono is F-CK-2
In those areas, Taiwan seems to have good systems.
are you willing to die in the future war with mainland if taiwan declares independent?

Bruh the engines need to be replaced with something more powerful than 42kn
From view during air show it must be more than 42KN.
For 12tons aircraft it is more than enough
Can’t wait for the f-ck u 2 version
It's like the F5, F16 and F18 parts were dropped on the factory floor and were kit-bashed together :) very uncanny :)
Looks like an F5 and an F18 had a baby
Also I can't be the only one that just calls it "fuck 1"
Unlike Chinese planes, the F-CK-1 is a very reliable plane according to its service record in the past three decades!
Good look aircraft
the air intake makes me see the rafale...😮
Taiwan’s FCK1s are light years ahead of any airplanes from China. ❤
Looks like a hybrid of the F-16 and F-18
f18 body with f 16 cockpit wings and tail
The aircraft looks as if the f18 and f16 had a child together
You are right.when the 1988.l am high school student.first see is combined F16 and F18 and smaller.
A reasonable hedge against a potential arms Embargo.
I just thought it was a cool looking jet fighter, but my dad looked at it like ... well he didn't literally spit on it, but I could tell that's how he felt.
why did he hate the KMT?
Fill in the blanks: F_CK 🤣
looks like this Aircraft was heavley influenced by F-16!
As Taiwanese, we not often use F-CK-1 to call it, we use IDF instead, and it also has funny nick name call " I Don't Fly", got it ?😂
When F-18 have a baby with F-16
Thanks!
Thanks for your support

F-5 and F-16 has a child...
F-16 and jf-17 combination or look alike
Love it's capabilities
Hate it's name
In fact in Taiwan we all use IDF (Indigenous Defense Fighter) to call it.
F-CK-1 only appears in the file.
This is such a great aircraft has rafel's air intakes f18's wings 😅

This Taiwan fighter designation is almost like “F**K” - 1. What a name???? Come in F**K 1. Roger, Roger this is F**K 1.
Is that an F16 under license?
No
This aircraft looks like the underdog that can prove to be the top gun in a close-quarters knife fight with even the mighty F15 screaming eagle which might just be left screaming obscenities when the FCK1 makes it realize that it's just FCked lmao who chose the name for this fighter anyways I just love it!
nice fighter aircraft but couldn't they gave it a better designation. It's just one letter away from a "french" swear word.
Twin engine, prettier, F-16
Its an F5-E but in steroids...
