There’s a manga called “That Time I Got Reincarnated as Yamcha” where a hardcore Dragon Ball fan gets isekai’d into the DB world and wakes up as Yamcha. Since he knows what happens to Yamcha in the story, he sought to change the fate of the character as you can imagine most people would. It’s a great read.
Yeah it didn't go too far into that direction. Even if he trained hard ultimately he's a human that will be underminded, everything was beyond him quickly
The "Muted Copyright Music" warning is covering the subtitles so I don't know what the characters are saying when it goes up. Don't know if it's intended, but it bother me.
Yamcha is primarily used to demonstrate how high stakes things are for that arc. Think about how in Dragonball, he is knocked out in the first round of all 3 WMA tournaments he competes in, and how all 3 of his opponents (Jackie Chun aka Master Roshi, Tien when he was a major threat, and Kami) defeat him with relative ease to show how powerful/skilled they are. And here, he is killed to demonstrate how dangerous the Saiyans are, as even their trash minions take him out. Then what happens in season 3 (no spoilers in the comments).
Team four stars channel was deleted a few times they had to re upload the videos so the date on the video is off the the first 7 episodes came out in 2008
I find it hilariously sad that Yamcha was meme'd like that. Afer I read the manga and watched Kai, Yamcha's death was actually a very noble and sad moment within context, especially since he actually ended up saving Krillin's life.
Yeah, he's always had it rough. Maybe as karma for starting as a villain, but could rarely catch a break and Bulma was not a good partner. Surprised though that they're not introducing him as _"that guy who was so scared of women that he went to live in the desert."_
Yeah, and I think the worst part is that not only were people introduced to Yamcha through DBZ, but there are some who were introduced to him through DBZ Abridged. Yamcha is perfectly capable of taking on the saibamen; he just wasn't able to handle one using its self-destruct.
@@adlernelson285 Yup. Yamcha had managed to surpass Raditz's power level under Kami's training, where Goku didn't, and he volunteered to fight this one in case something like this happened to Krillin, who couldn't be wished back again.
The issue is that even then original story kept having Yamcha being the butt monkey For example, in the movie specials and against Gero etc in the cell arc he is almost always taken out or beaten quickly So even the show was piling on yamcha quite a bit.
Funny enough, Yamcha didn’t get insta-owned in the actual series. He actually fought and defeated his Saibaman- he just made the mistake of assuming he’d killed it, and it managed to gather up enough strength to pounce on him while his back was turned and go kablammo like that.
Yamcha was about 29 years old at this point in the series and while he did have a martial art background, he wasn't a full-fledge martial artist. The guy was a bandit in the desert when he first met Goku and Bulma. By the time Z started, Yamcha already had his leg broken by Tenshinhan and took L's through the majority of OG Dragonball. Krillin gets dogged on a lot due to being around more often, but Yamcha also didn't continue his martial art career like the others had. He essentially got to the point which he gave up training. That said, he was still willing to jump in any time the Earth was in danger... it's just that each time it was, he was incredibly outmatched. Compared to any other human that isn't Krillin or Tenshinhan, Yamcha is still on a god-tier level. I can't remember for manga-specific moments, but in the anime, Yamcha did put up a really good fight against the Saiba-Man. If I remember right, the one that blew itself up with him wound up being one that caught it off guard.
Fun Fact: In the original series when they summon the dragon Oolong the pig actually attempts at wishing away Vegeta and Nappa to save Earth; however because the dragon is only as powerful as its creator (Kami) it can’t complete that wish as the Sayians are more powerful. So here in the abridged version, they take a jab at it by just deciding to bring back Goku like he’s the solution to everything.
And Abridged Shenlong specifically brings up a version of the wish that would've been entirely within his power. Like screwing up their navigation or life support would in fact get rid of them.
@@alchemicpink2392 Yeah, they definitely could've dealt with the issue, but hindsight being 20/20 they do kinda need each calamity to take place and be faced by our heroes to prepare them for the next one in line.
"Who is more useless, Krillin or Yamcha?" Team Four Star actually answered this back in the day on why they have a Krillin Owned Counter but not a Yamcha one. "Krillin is around enough to get owned by everyone, Yamcha doesn't even get that"
One thing a lot of people forget, Yamcha beat a Saibaman. It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure he beat two, the second one just decided to kamikaze, catching him off guard and taking him down with it. Yamcha actually saved Krillin's life here because Krillin volunteered first, but Yamcha stopped him and reminded him that since he'd died and been brought back once before, the dragon balls couldn't revive him again. Yamcha actually has something most characters don't, a win over Goku. He beat Goku in Dragon Ball in their first fight.
Technically, it's not explicit that they do. It's possible they only have the cells, but not the actual body parts, since it wouldn't make sense for them to have sexual organs, esp since it looks like Namekians spit out their eggs from their mouth.

You don't have to mute the conversation audio. The only thing that might get struck is ya the music. Constantly muting the conversations makes the reaction less entertaining for those watching.
I just want to take sec to admire how expressive your model is. I mean dang that is really great detail. Must of taken months to get all the small details made.
Enjoying the reaction, and I totally understand having to mute sections to avoid the ban hammer. But if you could move the notification for when you are muting to somewhere that isn't directly infront of the subtitles that'd help a ton. Not being able to read or hear a scene really diminishes the impact of it, especially when it has been nearly two decades since this was last on the air.
i think the whole customizing thing with youtube was like back in 2005 or 2006 or later i don't remember i was in highschool when it came out but i do remember being able to edit the background kinda similar to opera gx
Krillin's surprisingly useful when you really think about it. There are a lot of times he saves someone or distracts an enemy or temporarily debilitates them. I don't think Yamcha accomplishes anything in Z.

Me: ".... Shut it, Nappa.."
Please continue this. I havent seen DBZA since they were originally released and this is hitting just right
16:30 I remember that! was way too young at the time but yeah it looked like myspace a bit
Yamcha landing with his back turned is a hell of a power play but imagine how humiliating it would be if Vegeta had a policy of disintegrating anyone who does that, just to make point.
Nappa Mr. Popo and elder guru the 3 absolutely most hysterical characters in all of dbza 2 of which are voiced by dear taka
In a rpg game (can't remember if it was BG3 or Pathfinder) I had a party member that was always getting btfo. I renamed the character Yamcha. His legacy lives on!
Taka really killed it as Nappa
You don't have to mute the conversation audio. The only thing that might get struck is ya the music. Constantly muting the conversations makes the reaction less entertaining for those watching.
I do love Taka's version of Napa. The voice just sells it.
Nappa is just a fan favorite DBZA character xD
They even reference the Yamcha death pose in a Dragon Ball Super filler episode.
Guy was blown into the next dimension
One thing about Saibamen is that there are actually more powerful variants if the games are to be believed.
Me *spirtually a cat*: how dare you boop me!!!!
Chill in my boy Yamcha, he beat that saibaman’s ass so bad it had to boom itself when he wasn’t looking to beat him
I just want to take sec to admire how expressive your model is.
Yup! Told my editor it will be fixed for the next one
i think the whole customizing thing with youtube was like back in 2005 or 2006 or later i don't remember i was in highschool when it came out but i do remember being able to edit the background kinda similar to opera gx
The VA of nappa is Takahata101 he does most of the creapy and hilarious characters
There is.
A house
In New Orleans...
They call
"Tails of Iron." A rat kingdom RPG in the same vein as the book/show "Redwall". Gotta see the trailers.
Krillin's surprisingly useful when you really think about it. There are a lot of times he saves someone or distracts an enemy or temporarily debilitates them. I don't think Yamcha accomplishes anything in Z.
That intro was surprisingly accurate...I do like reaction content on RUclips, I don't really like v-tubers, Alicia is in fact the exception...Damn, the Rat Queen knows her subjects.
Nappa is hands down the best part of early DBZ:A
9:00 I completely understand the copyright things going on behind the scenes, but why did the subtitles get covered? It's a personal gripe and should go mostly ignored but I lost track of what was happening
Edit: Okay, I was forgiving at first, but now I'm getting seriously annoyed. Those A-holes need to leave your videos alone! I wanna follow what's going on!
RUclips did used to allow whole wallpapers being set in your channels background way back before one particular update that changed the entire set up.
Put the muted sign a little bit down so we can read the subs c'mon.
Nappa had to be one of the most funniest characters tfs had written for the series other than guru and popo.
Oh man the I’ll make a man out of u version they made for this was legendary
yes you pretty much are a exception for me alicia. pretty much every other vtuber i have interacted with felt like they were putting on a persona.
And yes that’s Takahata the demon bartender
Nappa is hilarious and you will quote everything he says.
Give us the names of these clippers abusing the copyright system.
