16 is such an interesting character to me. At first he seems superfluous, sidelined except for a fight to stall out cell. But his speech to gohan, whichever version you prefer, is so impactful and illustrates the duality of loving peace and needing to defend it with conflict.
The reason they actually quit making dbza is because: 1. They think they couldn't top this and the rest would be letting down the fans. 2. the next movie caused an incredible amount of burn out.
"They should have used this in the actual show" "I can't tell what's been cut" From the original episode, nothing is cut from 21:54 to the end of part 1. Just translated the song and dubbed what few words are spoken, they played that scene as straight as they could
Yeah it's funny that they say "This should have been in the actual show" when this WAS in the actual show in the japanese version and then the english one cut it.
One thing that irks me about a few reactions to that scene is when people assume the bird during Gohan's transformation was edited in and even laugh thinking it was done so as a joke.
@@EskChan19 Thats what happens when American reactors have only ever seen the English dub. While its understandable when you think about it people need to watch the original Japanese version too rather than limit themselves to the English dub so they can see how much was changed.
Fun fact: Super Saiyan 2 only started being called that way after Goku explains the Super Saiyan "levels" just before Super Saiyan 3 reveal and calls it Super Saiyan 2. Before that, it's just refered to as "the level beyond super Saiyan" or things along those lines.
@@VerseAftrVerse In japan I believe, because grade 1, grade 2 etc are rough translations from the japanese term, elswere it was something among the lines of ascended super saiyan, except in the US because DBZ was already finished when it arrived and calling it super saiyan 2 was already a thing.
Yamcha didn't patriciate in the World Tournament in the Buu Saga. They even ask him while they're on their way there and he says he's given up fighting (probably because the gap in power between him and the Super Saiyans and Piccolo is so extreme at that point that he doesn't see the point).
Totally get where he's coming from. It would be like a white belt going against Jackie Chan or some other world famous martial artist. Yamcha is arguably top four when it comes to humans, but he can't hold a candle to the rest of the Z fighters.
It's also safe to mention his age may be a factor, along with with a fucked up leg due to Tenshinhan. By that point in the series, he has to be in his 50s or close to it. Sure, still in great shape an all due to his martial arts, but he was about 16 or so in Dragonball. So the combination of age, his leg, and like you mentioned, the power gap all just probably demotivated him from continuing with his training. That said, the dude still tried when it counts. Never got far, but he tried.
"And now the end is near and so we face the final curtains" I'm glad we're doing all 3 parts in one this has been such a fun ride episode 60 is still probably my favorite episode all 3 parts are truly perfect
The question is, did they ever notice that if a character dies in an episode, it's that character who reads the intro bumper. Because I don't think they ever bring that up in their reactions
If i remember correctly they dont explode in the manga only in the anime and then regenerated right? Cool that they got guardian in 17. I'd assume he would also be training with them to keep his skills sharp.
Makes sense, in the manga you jyst see their organs lol, so since cell survived with just one cell. I wonder if they're gonna show up and help someday, in a future arc.
It’s worth remembering that the DB Super manga isn’t canon the to main DB storyline/continuity. Unlike most Animes where the manga is the source material and the anime is an adaptation of that; the DB Super anime *is* the source material and the manga is an adaptation of the anime. So the DBS series is canon and the DBS manga isn’t (or at least the Manga original stuff isn’t canon like how anime only filler from DBZ isn’t canon)
Which is a big bullshit becouse cell's and gohan's kamehameha did destroyead everything around them so cell jr should have been wiped out they did literally showed the energy espanding and stroying everything around and everyone have to get back for not get involed in so no way cell jr was alive
I love that “DRAMATIC FINISH!” After Takahata101’s amazing performance of My Way to reel you back in to the comedic aspect of this show😂 TeamFourStar did an amazing job and deserve all the praise for this🤯
I will say, in the original show, Goku does know Gohan prefers stuff like fishing and studying to fighting- like before the Cell Games he even tells Gohan like "we gotta save the world so you can become a scholar like you wanted" and takes him to a fishing trip like he promised him (Piccolo respects Gohan's interests far less in comparison tbqh 🤔) Like I get the DBZA take, but dont get confused and think this is what it was like
Even in canon, I think that statement from Goku was ultimately coercive. I mean, he never talked with Gohan about this plan beforehand (even though he had at least a year), and then he put Gohan entirely on the spot at the last possible moment. Gohan didn't really have enough time to lay out any reasonable case for why he was hesitant to fight until AFTER he was already fighting Cell.
@@kmgyening Just saying that Goku *knows* what Gohan likes, and that while DBZA potrays Piccolo as invested in Gohan's interests, canon shows Piccolo being annoyed to uncaring about it (tho in his defense, we dont get a lotta chances for him to comment on it)

TFS didn’t stop because of copyright strikes. In fact, while Goku’s goodbye speech was actually a goodbye to the fans speech saying maybe they’d come back someday, this episode ended with a notice that they were continuing with season 4. Then it continued with DBZ Kai 2.9 (the 3.0 April Fools’ joke), 3, and 3.5. But then after they wrote and rewrote the Bojack movie script over and over again and not being happy with it, they made an announcement that they changed their minds, that they realized they were burnt out on the series and they didn’t want to force themselves and maybe come to resent DB, which they love. With that, the announcement at the end of this episode was clipped out so people wouldn’t keeping asking what happened to season 4. Then came Dragon Shortz and HFIL based on their abridged characters. I personally love HFIL. Also, fairly recently, Totally Not Mark did an expose on DBZ season 4 and TFS did a set of season 4 bits for it and they later compiled them onto their channel as “Buu Bits”.
So, all three parts premiered on Twitch a week or so apart, and every part got more and more viewers. The finale had something like 45k in live chat. It was glorious chaos. Chat was going so fast that you could barely register that there was a given comment before it disappeared. At the time, I was working security, so I went "on patrol" and watched the streams.
While it's generally more well known nowadays, Gohan's transformation sequence is more faithful than the actual original english dub. Them putting that song as well the silence from both the Narrator and Gohan is exactly how it was done in the original air in Japan. In the english dub and in other dubs as well, like with the Italian dub, that was just removed and other stuff was put instead of it and the scene was SEVERELY diminished because of it (the before mentioned narrator and Gohan's nonexistent internal dialogue). It hits so hard, and even harder than the original for most because it was originally diminished with these languages in the first place
Yes but lets not believe Goku would have stopped Cell from absorbing android 18 or from Cell being in final form. He let Freeza do it so why would Cell be any different. All Sayians have the need to proove who is stronger and Goku is just as bad a Vegeta
@@Ringking-ws7bz I think if Goku wasn’t planning on unlocking Gohons hidden potential, if he were to face Imp./Semi-perf Cell. @@Ringking-ws7bz Goku and most of the other fighter characters arbitrarily switched between proactive and not proactive throughout this entire arc. I maintain the issue starts with them not listening to Bulma in the first place.
1:08:20 The cast of DBZA actually voiced their respective characters in an episode of DBZ Kai. It would have aired if it wasn’t for Toei stepping the day the episode was to air and pulling the plug. While the episode never aired live, some cable on demand services did have the episode up for a brief time.
They actually just vaguely referred to it as an Ascended Saiyan until much later when the name Super Saiyan 2 is introduced. Whether or not you decide to watch Kai, I genuinely recommend going back and watching some of those iconic scenes or episodes in the original dub. The whole atmosphere with the voice direction and the Bruce Falconer music is just next level. All of the iconic super saiyan transformation scenes are my favorite.
Nope, there was no telepathic conversation in the original. He pops up, King kai and gang freak out, Goku says he didn't know where to take him and King Kai responds with "You could have called first" before Cell blows them all up 😂
Android 16s "good man doing nothing" speech still holds up really well, it's cool to see how far the quality of their writing for this came since the first ten episodes.
Fun fact: the song that plays when Gohan goes SSJ2 is in the Japanese version. However, the TFS version is the only version of an English variant of the song.
DBZA stopped for three main reasons: the aforementioned copyright issues with Toei, the immense amount of time and production each episode took, and the gang experiencing burnout while trying to write for the film Bojack Unbound. Making Season 3 and especially episode 60 put them through the wringer, and they didn't want to sacrifice quality by pushing themselves through a Season 4.
I'll be honest. I have seen DBZ Abridged many times, and people reacting to it many more. I never understood why King Kai was upset with Yamcha when they used the wishes until this time. It's because Yamcha specifically asked for people on Earth to be resurrected, meaning King Kai wasn't. I don't know how I didn't realize it sooner.
There's also the "buu bits" video which is kinda like a speed run through of them doing clips of the buu saga if you want a little more to watch. Also the "cell vs" clips, those are good too
Instead of just the buu bits. I totally recommend totallynotmarks buu saga review. (The video the buu bits were made for) He's a damn good analyst, fun watch, and well worth the watch at that. But obviously that requires context of the original show. A lil pointless if they haven't watched the buu saga v.v (But for anyone else, please do! The dude doesn't get enough credit! His vids are great)
In the actual lore, instant transmission is not location based but ki based. Goku can find anyone with a ki signature he recognizes and teleport to near them. So he couldn't teleport to an abandoned planet or dead space, his choices were somewhere else on earth, new namek, or king kai's
I'm glad to see your reaction for the end! Teamfourstar also did their own animated series called HFIL, which follows Cell in hell. So, if you guys want more content, there's that series.
For context, each part of episode 60 was about a year apart, which is why "My Way" was so much more impactful. Those of us who grew up with it had been WAITING. FOR. YEARS. for the conclusion.
The difference is that Goku received a brain injury as a kid which repressed a lot of his Saiyan instincts. Gohan has been training using them since he was four years old while Goku didn't learn to accept his until he was in his twenties.
@@GamerGrovyle I'm talking raw strength. Gohan, debatably, never surpassed Goku in fighting skill, just raw power. and Goku's brain injury didnt affect his strength. if anything it's near death severity made him stronger.
Fun fact: When Cell lists the names of his children, he's (mostly) saying the first names of people who have provided their voices for the role of Cell across multiple mediums and countries.
Goku technically had no choice but to take Cell to King Kai's planet. Instant transmission requires that he teleport to an energy source, which means he'd have to go somewhere with at least 1 person. At least with King Kai's planet, he could guarantee the least deaths.
Funniest part is he's actually supposed to be 9 here, or close to 10 given the time chamber shenanigans because they didn't spend the entire year in there.
Actually 9 at the start of the android saga should of been 10 even if they didn't spend the entire year stayed 9 cause Toriyama wanted to use his natural age so yes he is 9 unfortunately the dub aged him up and the games made it worse also Videl is a year older than Gohan she's 17 when they meet 😅
Gohan was born May 18 in Age 757. The Cell games took place on May 26 in Age 767. So he's chronologically 10 years and 8 days old (having his 10th bday in the week follow up), but biologically +1 year due to Room of Spirit & Time. If you manually go through the series, it is stated that he was 4. Add in all the time skips, you still get 10 (+1 with RoS&T).
@@lucariomew358_2 Nah, you right, I got the times mixed up. But I knew he's at least 1 year younger in the Manga. I don't use RoS&T as it's not completely clear how long Goku and Gohan were in there as they came out early. And he's still be chronologically 10.
in og dragonball, the king watched as Goku literally fought down to his last limb to save him from demon king piccolo. its kinda poetic that he recognizes Goku's son, who is also now saving the world with only one arm and a kamehameha.
The Yamcha thing, there are 3 moments. At the start of Buu, there's a World Tournament that Yamcha goes to watch, but doesn't participate in. Near the end of Buu, in the afterlife, Yamcha is seen beating Olibu AND Pikkon, the latter of which beat King Cold, Frieza, Cell and the Ginyus all at once. By the way, Yamcha beay Olibu and Pikkon at the same time, but Pikkon also beat all those villains at the same time, I just worded that poorly And in the Tournament of Power, Yamcha wants to be invited, but Goku picks someone else.
It's funny, despite the recurring joke about how weak Yamcha is, the writers LOVE him. He even gets his own episode in Super where he beats the strongest warriors of another universe in baseball.
1:10:03 this is a really nice detail that they decided to throw in here in the specials Thanks picture. Android 16 with a halo. That means that not only did he have a soul, but what you’re seeing is his heaven.
Simple ignorance. Even from the group that have seen the anime they have seen the english dub that scrapped all of that. Abridged funny enough was more faithful. And to the the sudden holy music given that the show havent given anything like that even when Goku went super saiyan for the first time
The thing about Mr Satan saying that he beat Cell was basically more framed as him doing it to keep everyone calm when they thought the world was going to be destroyed. He KNOWS the truth and actually respects Goku and co for their part in beating Cell, but eventually, even Goku realized it would be better to keep things under wraps as to how close the world came to ending. Mr Satan didn't mind the publicity, but he's a good guy deep down. Later in the series, it's even shown that he keeps Goku's family afloat with his cash as thanks for the whole thing, basically.
"this is better than the soundtrack in the actual show". It actually is the soundtrack in the show. They dubbed the song that plays in the og japanese version when gohan goes ssj2
I havent seen this posted yet but gohan is actually 9 here but was changed to 11 and called teen gohan for marketing in the west. But if you read the manga he is only 9 years only during the cell games. Then a 7 year time skip to make him 16 in the buu saga. Great content btw. This was a nice journey to go on with you guys.
Several reactors have been continuing with DBZ Kai after this. It's a very good transition point and a great way to see just how incredibly accurate the Abridged was to the dub.
That "A good man doing nothing" line hits really hard in current times. Too many good men do nothing while our society crumbles because we don't want to harm anyone, even bad people. I think times are about to change.
It's weird I binged their abridged reactions for the past 2 days, and watched this episode only hours after it was announced, didn't even know it until I woke up at 9am this morning
Yep, in the Tournament of Power they even point out that Yamcha is just "Waiting for everyone to invite me" He doesn't say he wants to join the team, just assumes they want him. He doesn't even get an invite. And Puar is used to train ROSHI.
Fun fact: one guy does the 3 voices of cell: imperfect, semi and perfect cell. But not just that, but android 16, Super Kami Guru and Nappa:) The range of that man
22:31 It IS the soundtrack of the actual show, in the japanese version and pretty much every dub worldwide, but you know, America being America, doing a complete different thing for the rest of the world and kind of sucking on it XD
It wasn't just the copyright issues (which did play a big part, since their channel was almost nuked more than once), they were facing serious burnout, other projects that they could profit from, and members of TFS wanting to leave to do their own thing. All that stress and pressure lead them to realize that this was probably the best place and time to end it. Especially since they literally got stressed over how to write the next movie and season. All in all, it was down to keep going, but everything after this would be of less quality because their heart wasn't in it, or end it here
Goku's "Instant Transmission" depends on having a destination ki to go to. He needs to know a person, then he can concentrate on their ki and teleport with it, so any empty places in the universe are no game for it. He ends up going to King Kai's planet because it's the person whose ki he knows who has the least people around to be collateral damage. His only other options would have been the Yardrats who taught him the technique or the Namekians in New Namek. Both instances would involve destroying a planet with its own civilisation, killing untold amounts of people, other than those 2 the only ki he knew to go to would all be on Earth so, not fixing the problem at all. King Kai was kind of the best option, it sucks for him, Bubbles and Gregory (and Bojack of course) but it was the least harm he could go with. Of course, as it often does, filler fucks this up irreparably. Why didn't he go to Princess Snake's or just to Hell? Fuck you, that's why xD So yeah, with the filler it makes zero sense but if you only take into account the canon episodes, it was the best he could do. Edit: before anyone talks about the rabbit on the Moon: there _isn't_ a rabbit on the moon. That bitch is either dead or he fell back to Earth years and years ago. Keep in mind, the Moon has been blown up, wished back into existence, then _blown up again_ and wished back into existence _again_ since that dude was placed there by Goku, he definitely isn't there anymore.
They initially called it "Ascended Super Saiyan", but after Buu saga Goku ascended beyond *that*, he decided to just number them instead, for brevity. Otherwise, in the words of Buu saga Krillin, "what would that make him, 'double ascended [super saiyan]'?"

A treat watching you guys react to episode 60 in one part--was great seeing your reaction to 60 because it's hands-down top-notch quality from TFS, down to the English cover they commissioned for the "Day of Fate" cover used in Gohan's SS2 transformation (which was used in the Japanese version of the show there). Love coming back to 60 often, and honestly hearing their behind-the-scenes on it for their commentaries was powerful; it's clear a lot of love went into this knowing what a pivotal moment it was not just for DB but for anime altogether. As for what to watch next, I'm sure Boom would enjoy DBKai for sure, though I'd recommend maybe going through Dragon Ball too. I'd recommend looking up a "Dragon Ball Recut" fanedit by IAmTheMilkman, which removes a lot of the filler from DB and makes it about 80 episodes; from there, I'd jump into his "Dragon Ball Kai Recut," which he just finished up the Buu arc for; altogether, it takes the 167 episodes from all of Kai (Saiyan-Buu) to 130ish, with Saiyan-Cell being 82 vs 98 originally. Kai got a bit worse about removing filler into the Buu arc, so he makes it a much more streamlined time, lol. I'm sure that'd be fun all around! (Also, for DB, I kinda would recommend going with the Japanese subbed version because the dub still takes some liberties where it shouldn't, but Kai's dub is fantastic)

Super Saiyan Grade 5 was the most agreed upon name before Super Saiyan 2 was coined
@@VerseAftrVerse In japan I believe, because grade 1, grade 2 etc are rough translations from the japanese term, elswere it was something among the lines of ascended super saiyan, except in the US because DBZ was already finished when it arrived and calling it super saiyan 2 was already a thing.
Fun fact: all the cell jrs, save Vegita jr jr obviously, are named after the people who voiced cell over the years.
"And now the end is near and so we face the final curtains"
I'm glad we're doing all 3 parts in one this has been such a fun ride episode 60 is still probably my favorite episode all 3 parts are truly perfect
The question is, did they ever notice that if a character dies in an episode, it's that character who reads the intro bumper. Because I don't think they ever bring that up in their reactions
Fun fact; In the Super manga the Cell Jr's survived this and are living under the protection of 17
If i remember correctly they dont explode in the manga only in the anime and then regenerated right?
Cool that they got guardian in 17. I'd assume he would also be training with them to keep his skills sharp.
Makes sense, in the manga you jyst see their organs lol, so since cell survived with just one cell.
I wonder if they're gonna show up and help someday, in a future arc.
@@ShaggyRamboIn the manga, the Cell Jrs have organs instead of just smoke, it's much more brutal.
I love that “DRAMATIC FINISH!” After Takahata101’s amazing performance of My Way to reel you back in to the comedic aspect of this show😂 TeamFourStar did an amazing job and deserve all the praise for this🤯
The soundtrack is from dbz, TFS made a cover in English. It is gohan's theme
I will say, in the original show, Goku does know Gohan prefers stuff like fishing and studying to fighting- like before the Cell Games he even tells Gohan like "we gotta save the world so you can become a scholar like you wanted" and takes him to a fishing trip like he promised him
(Piccolo respects Gohan's interests far less in comparison tbqh 🤔)
Like I get the DBZA take, but dont get confused and think this is what it was like
Even in canon, I think that statement from Goku was ultimately coercive.

Small note but they actually did state copyright concerns were one of their reasons for stopping at the time
Copyright absolutely was a factor, it just wasn't the only one.
@@Arkayjiya Indeed. Even if Copyright wasn't necessarily the reason why they didn't continue, I'm certain it played a large part in burning them out.
It just occurred to me: Vegeta caught a lot of strays in Episode 60, but the one who caught the ULTIMATE stray was actually King Kai.
You guys should definitely watch the Buu bits they made to go with totally not Mark's DBZ review
Only after he watches the Buu saga though. They don't fill in gaps so it will just be rapid fire jokes that will become super hit or miss
I just love how Goku had the same bet on Vegeta+Krillan like Bulma, cause those two has literally known V+K the longest.
He would NOT let him transform, because although he’d allow someone to get stronger to prove themselves, I don’t think he’d allow it if lives were sacrificed for it. Which would be the difference between Veggie and Goku
@@Ringking-ws7bz Goku and most of the other fighter characters arbitrarily switched between proactive and not proactive throughout this entire arc. I maintain the issue starts with them not listening to Bulma in the first place.
Goku's instant transmission can only teleport to a person, so King Kai was kinda one of his only options. He can't just teleport a place.
40:10 There is no Moon anymore. Piccolo blew it up in the Saiyan Saga to stop Gohan from transforming.
There is, tho. Kami made another one after Piccolo blew it up
To this day, I continue to get chills from the TFS super saiyan 2 transformations, the cover of Day of Fate, it's insane
22:30 It's from the original Japanese episode. TFS recreated the moment but with english lyrics.
The mutual flipping off and Vegeta constantly copping strays gets me xD
35:15 Academically speaking he's probably AP highschool level, with several college credits.
Nope, there was no telepathic conversation in the original.
He pops up, King kai and gang freak out, Goku says he didn't know where to take him and King Kai responds with "You could have called first" before Cell blows them all up 😂
In the Manga, Cell pretty much detonates the second he appeared on King Kai's planet.
@@wingedbluj1674 Never watched that, I'm talking about the anime dub.
That song when gohan went ssj2
That song IS in the show. The original Japanese dub had that song but tfs made an English cover for their own version
“I’m not done ripping the wings off this butterfly” goes extremely hard
DBZA stopped for three main reasons: the aforementioned copyright issues with Toei, the immense amount of time and production each episode took, and the gang experiencing burnout while trying to write for the film Bojack Unbound. Making Season 3 and especially episode 60 put them through the wringer, and they didn't want to sacrifice quality by pushing themselves through a Season 4.
I get chills every time Gohan goes SSJ2 and the song plays. The tears dry from his eyes . . . and he scowls - the bang is down - death is here.
(The video the buu bits were made for)
He's a damn good analyst, fun watch, and well worth the watch at that. But obviously that requires context of the original show. A lil pointless if they haven't watched the buu saga v.v
(But for anyone else, please do!
Yamcha just being humble and letting the others win, such a good friend.
Gohan when he fought Cell was younger than Goku at the begining of the story. He was THAT much stronger than Goku.
HMan not reacting to Cell jumping and making the sonic spring sound was a non canonical timeline glitch
He’s 11
He is physically 11. His legal age is pretty irrelevant here.
Theyre shook by the white dove like that was TFS, nah that shit was in it fr 😂
in og dragonball, the king watched as Goku literally fought down to his last limb to save him from demon king piccolo. its kinda poetic that he recognizes Goku's son, who is also now saving the world with only one arm and a kamehameha.
By the way, Yamcha beay Olibu and Pikkon at the same time, but Pikkon also beat all those villains at the same time, I just worded that poorly
And in the Tournament of Power, Yamcha wants to be invited, but Goku picks someone else.
21:55 I don't understand all the giggling.
Later in the series, it's even shown that he keeps Goku's family afloat with his cash as thanks for the whole thing, basically.
fun fact, each of the cell jrs are named after voice actors for perfect cell from all the different dubs, including abridged.
I think spuer saiyan 2 was only named that when they created super saiyan 3, before that it was just Ascended saiyan
"this is better than the soundtrack in the actual show". It actually is the soundtrack in the show. They dubbed the song that plays in the og japanese version when gohan goes ssj2
All three episodes in one …
PERFECTION
The song that played when Gohan went SSJ2 is actually an english cover of the original japanese score for that scene

(At 46:30) And we can finally hear f-bombs, WITHOUT the profanity sensor.
Yep, in the Tournament of Power they even point out that Yamcha is just "Waiting for everyone to invite me"
He doesn't say he wants to join the team, just assumes they want him.
He doesn't even get an invite. And Puar is used to train ROSHI.
Yeah by that point the Yamcha Sucks meme had taken flight in Japan. Even the creators couldn't resist 😅

It IS the soundtrack of the actual show, in the japanese version and pretty much every dub worldwide, but you know, America being America, doing a complete different thing for the rest of the world and kind of sucking on it XD
It isn't necessarily worse, just different.
All in all, it was down to keep going, but everything after this would be of less quality because their heart wasn't in it, or end it here
Doing part 60 all in one video? Damn, HYPE! 🔥🔥If I wasn't broke I'd sub to Patreon for that
Gohan was canonically 9 at that fight, but physically 10 cuz of the year in the time room.
You know, after this, you can still watch the Buu bits that they did recently, along with HFIL and DB Shortz.
"Im a head"
"Then maybe you should quit while you are"
All 3 parts in 1 video!?! It’s a Christmas miracle! 🎄
This show has increased my appreciation for Sinatra
Rest in peace to the creator of dragon ball. Akira toriyama
They initially called it "Ascended Super Saiyan", but after Buu saga Goku ascended beyond *that*, he decided to just number them instead, for brevity. Otherwise, in the words of Buu saga Krillin, "what would that make him, 'double ascended [super saiyan]'?"
Technically there were also the Grades, but yeah, it was Goku that arbitrarily numbered certain forms
@@brolytriplethreat Those weren't really different forms though, more like different degrees of buff form 1. Gohan was the first to truly ascend, or shift a gear, rather than merely (over)tuning what they already had.
@@OMGitisGuy true as the overbulked form Trunks used was named Ultra Super Saiyan if remember rightly but like you said there was more aka to buffs to super Saiyan.

If you're continuing with DBZ Kai, please continue from the Buu Saga. Would be a great watch!
"It's even better than the soundtrack in the actual show"
That's literally an english cover of the soundtrack of the actual show.
The american version has the wrong soundtrack because heartfelt and intense OST were not american enough apprently.
