@@Matt-1147 - I don't believe you. The average restriction period in Europe starts at 15 weeks. Mississippi is 16 weeks. The second trimester must have a doctor, and the third trimester is with a doctor in extreme cases.

The impact of this restrictive laws is that the number of going into obsteristics and practicing doctors leave restrictive states. Its too dangerous to their wellbeing. So much for women's health.

Apart from all of the noise from the political crowds, I have not seen any coherent argument on why the Arizona Supreme Court thought that a territorial law that was never incorporated into the state constitution was enforceable. It should be a simple fix for the Arizona legislature to clarify the situation.
Apparently this law was codified into AZ state law in 1912 when AZ became a state.
The AZ republicans who are saying the court decision is flawed will not vote in state legislature to overturn it.
@@patlynch6517 Okay, I have clarification now. It was codified in 1913 (a year after Arizona became a state). It was also re-codified in 1936, 1950, 1962, 1971, 1977, 1983, 1995, 1999, 2000, 2009, 2012, 2018, and 2021. So technically, the state supreme court upheld the 2021 version of the Arizona state law. Thanks for the assist.

Arizona used to be a blue state until 1965. Same for Oklahoma. President Johnson signed the voting rights act and all of the "Dixiecrats" left for the Republican party and mostly took it over as far as policy goes.

Arizona has cheated me out of a grandchild. My daughter has responded to their court's ruling by getting her tubes tied.
This painful reality could turn into a class action lawsuit. It would be interesting to see how our "right to life" Supreme Court ruled on this item.

@@colowyowatchman4420 Your 1st Amendment rights are not under attack. You're free to say what you want, and the government won't prosecute you for it. What you're not free from is how other people react to what you say. If you get banned from social media platforms, ostracized, canceled, etc. for what you say, that's not your 1st Amendment rights being attacked. That's other people exercising their 1st Amendment rights.
And, the 2nd Amendment was never intended to give anyone the right to own any gun they want. It never was until the Supreme Court case DC vs. Heller in 2008. Before then, you had judges like former Chief Justice Warren Burger, a Nixon appointee who called the NRA's interpretation of the 2nd Amendment completely fraudulent. And it is, based on the views of the Founding Fathers. Alexander Hamilton wrote in the Federalist Papers that the 2nd Amendment's purpose was to have militias for defense of the state, similar to the Minutemen of the Revolution. It's not for personal gun ownership or personal self-defense. That's what the modern gun lobby has misconstrued it to be so they can sell more guns.

What's up with Claire? This is the second time I've seen her in a group interview where after a long awkward silent pause, the host had to remind Claire that it was her turn to ask question. In this interview, she seemed unprepared when called upon and fumbled to come up with a question on the fly.

We are talking about a law in AZ that was initiated in the 1800s. The law is on the books and it is a law of that state. If people are upset, simply change the law. Demand that easy elected officials get together and change this law from the 1800s. Do advocate that AZ state elected officials violate the law is a danger to our democracy.

I am a 66 year old male Arizona voter. Kari Lake is just Trump in a skirt. The only people who should make decisions for women are the women themselves with consultation from their healthcare provider. The family/husband could be consulted as well but it shouldn't be required. For girls under 16, if their parents won't allow them a termination they should be able to go to the court to get permission. I worked at a hospital. A pastor and his wife brought their 12 year old daughter to the ER. He saw I was reading a book on theology and sat down just to chat. He said he had preached against abortion for years but now, faced with a pregnant 12 year old he was going to make an appointment for her to get a termination. He said she was too young to give birth. It could do irreparable damage to her body and she would have no way to care for a baby in 6th grade. I just listened and made no suggestions or gave any opinions. that was what was needed for him at that moment. He just needed to think things through and I was just a sounding board. I hope he had a change of heart towards women and their reproductive rights. Men have no business telling women how to manage their own healthcare or bodies. Period. VOTE. 🌊🌊🌊🌊 I met Ruben Gallego. He is just as sincere and nice as he is in this interview. He truly cares about every Arizonan and American citizen. Kari Lake just wants to be the next Trump when he dies.

Were all territorial laws enacted into the state's constitution when Arizona became a state? Otherwise I fail to see how the law can be enforced when it was established well before Arizona even became a state.

This is also s forced-father law. Arizona child support laws orders a flat percentage of 25% of the non-custodial parent's income to be paid in child support to the custodial parent.
