  • Go SLOW. Don’t be afraid to use the “S” very gently/softly, until the throat muscles relax enough for more intensity.

    As a beginner it is very hard for me to control my breathing, when I sing I feel like I'm running out of air😅, I hope that I can learn it soon with the help of your videos♥️

      One of the weirdest tips I ever got for breath control with singing was to start walking or jogging once a day and try and do singing stuff while you jog.

      You may be taking in too much air. Do this: Expel all you air. Take in just a tiny bit of air as if you breathed in in shock and immediately sing a line or two. I tend to take way too much air which causes great discomfort which people will sense in my voice. I also tend to do as if I was trying to breath in as I’m breathing out which is caused by a near drowning when I was young.

    Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos. I have finally found my voice, but I still have a really hard time staying on pitch when I'm singing alone (not with the singer/s on the radio/video) but I'm determined to get to the point where I feel comfortable enough to sing in front of others. It's on my bucket list lol.

    Hi Eric. I absolutely love the videos. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with the world. I wondered if you could help me with something - so I've been singing pretty much since I was 13 years old. I guess I'm lucky because I never warmed up and yet could still sing everything I wanted to well (my mum and dad sang so maybe it's good singing genes). However, I'm now 39 years old and find that every time I sing my voice breaks. It can be low notes, high notes...it doesn't matter. It feels like the breaks happen very randomly. For the past 6-8 months I have made an effort to warm up my voice, do exercises that are supposed to help with breaks, and just generally try to sing with better control. I also eat very well and exercise regularly. However, I still get the breaks all the time. Do you have any idea what might be happening? Again, thanks for all the content!

    hey, i had a question. Im very inconsistent with my singing, i sometimes can sing just the way i like to, belting high but other times it just doesnt work even though i believe im doing the same thing. Is this simply because im not warmed up?

    I think it’s important that we know what muscles should be working and what it should feel like when we sing, or do vocal warm ups.
    I’m really glad you posted this because I’ve been using this exercise and didn’t know if I was doing it right or not, so this video was very helpful.

      I'm with you 1000%. I like to know exactly what muscles are supposed to be working. I used to find it so frustrating when my teachers would explain solely through vague imagery and metaphors. 😩

    • @ericarceneaux
      @ericarceneaux  2 года назад +1

      Typically, "ear click" sensations are simply your eustachian tubes (the tubes that connect from your ears to the back of your throat) responding to pressure changes happening at the back of your throat. It's not really a major concern, unless you're feeling jaw/throat tension along with it.
