- Go SLOW. Don’t be afraid to use the “S” very gently/softly, until the throat muscles relax enough for more intensity.

As a beginner it is very hard for me to control my breathing, when I sing I feel like I'm running out of air😅, I hope that I can learn it soon with the help of your videos♥️
This video is a great place to start, but check out my channel. I have many other videos that go into greater detail and/or address breath control from other angles.
@@ericarceneaux I would love to watch your videos, thank you ♥️
One of the weirdest tips I ever got for breath control with singing was to start walking or jogging once a day and try and do singing stuff while you jog.
@@MorganMindfulness and how is it going for you?
You may be taking in too much air. Do this: Expel all you air. Take in just a tiny bit of air as if you breathed in in shock and immediately sing a line or two. I tend to take way too much air which causes great discomfort which people will sense in my voice. I also tend to do as if I was trying to breath in as I’m breathing out which is caused by a near drowning when I was young.
Your channel has been a huge help in my journey of developing my voice thanks a lot chief 💯
You’re very welcome 🙏🏽
Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos. I have finally found my voice, but I still have a really hard time staying on pitch when I'm singing alone (not with the singer/s on the radio/video) but I'm determined to get to the point where I feel comfortable enough to sing in front of others. It's on my bucket list lol.
you literally taught me how to sing eric. yes, you did! thanks for helping me out. been following your videos on your channel from around april 2020.
That's awesome 🙌🏽
@@ericarceneaux Thank you. May you find more strength to keep doing what you're doing.❤️
Can you do a guide to improve your breath flow after covid recovery?
I think that’s an excellent suggestion, and it’s definitely something that I want to do 🙏🏽

I've been having a problem with breathing and flow evidently. Thank you so much for this 🙌 do you have any advice on how to pay attention to the sound of your voice when you're singing with other people?
Hi Eric. I absolutely love the videos. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with the world. I wondered if you could help me with something - so I've been singing pretty much since I was 13 years old. I guess I'm lucky because I never warmed up and yet could still sing everything I wanted to well (my mum and dad sang so maybe it's good singing genes). However, I'm now 39 years old and find that every time I sing my voice breaks. It can be low notes, high notes...it doesn't matter. It feels like the breaks happen very randomly. For the past 6-8 months I have made an effort to warm up my voice, do exercises that are supposed to help with breaks, and just generally try to sing with better control. I also eat very well and exercise regularly. However, I still get the breaks all the time. Do you have any idea what might be happening? Again, thanks for all the content!
hey, i had a question. Im very inconsistent with my singing, i sometimes can sing just the way i like to, belting high but other times it just doesnt work even though i believe im doing the same thing. Is this simply because im not warmed up?
DUDE. This is what I've been searching for! This is so clutch thank you
I can actually sing but I run out of air and sing from my throat.
Thank you! LORD Bless.
I noticed you said our lower stomach needs to be going up but with doing that I tighten my stomach…Which you said in another video was an incorrect thing to do.
I guess I’m just trying to understand the amount of pressure I need from my belly area. I can’t find my in between 🙃
🕊️💕
Hey Eric. Been watching your vids for a few years. Been considering having you as my coach. Everytime I watch your tips and or lessons I feel as if I improved. I would like to go further in the near future. Keep on inspiring others. You are amazing
I appreciate that! 🙏🏽

Hi may i ask my cheeks got numb is this a sign like i’m doing something wrong in singing?
I like how quick and to the point these videos are. Thanks!
Thank you ❤️😭this means a lots.
Do you do any zoom class man! Please I need one if you have any time today. I’m in a show and it’s just one part I can’t get do to breathing and idk what to do
I do Zoom classes all the time! Go to my site www.AApproach.com for details 🙂👍🏽
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for sharing this with us.
I think it’s important that we know what muscles should be working and what it should feel like when we sing, or do vocal warm ups.
I’m really glad you posted this because I’ve been using this exercise and didn’t know if I was doing it right or not, so this video was very helpful.
I'm with you 1000%. I like to know exactly what muscles are supposed to be working. I used to find it so frustrating when my teachers would explain solely through vague imagery and metaphors. 😩
@@ericarceneaux Right? That’s not as helpful to others as it is to themselves.
I’ve never had a vocal coach myself, but I have seen videos where people do that.
That’s why I like your videos. You give us really good insight into what’s going on in a way that anyone can understand.
So thank you for doing that. Not many people know how to do that, but you do a great job of it. Keep up the good work
This is actually very helpful. Thanks!!
Glad I could help!
I Have The Same Issue It’s Sometimes Hard To Hold Your Breath In While Singing I Start Getting Out Of Breath When I’m Holding It In When I’m Singing
I feel u. This is definitely a good lesson to practice to help resolve that issue 👍🏽
@@ericarceneaux I Will Definitely Be Practicing This Lesson
Just figured this out yesterday but myself considering your older videos and I was doing this for 2 days but effected my singing so much
Love it 🙌🏽. It really is a foundational concept that affects EVERYTHING else.
@@ericarceneaux I think the same with having a good flow then comes a more relaxed larynx and a consistent sound
I freakin' LOVE Eric!
🙏🏽🧡
Hey Eric am I damaging my voice? If I’m hearing my ear click?
I’m not sure if Ur allowed to look at my singing videos but yea it’s there
Typically, "ear click" sensations are simply your eustachian tubes (the tubes that connect from your ears to the back of your throat) responding to pressure changes happening at the back of your throat. It's not really a major concern, unless you're feeling jaw/throat tension along with it.
@@ericarceneaux Thanks for getting back to me, I maybe be oversinging and its causing the tightness. I will make sure I rest my voice and ur guides r amazing thanks again!
