Vinny, when you have worker camps like woodcutter etc, you wanna have the arrow pointing toward where you're gathering as your villagers always drop off items from the side with the arrow, it saves time. Bought this game for my wife after watching Vinny play this because she likes RimWord and RTSsss in general and it's her favorite game she's ever played.
Exactly like Vinny said, this game really captured the challenging early game feeling of survival city/village sim genre very well. And there are so many different challenges to tackle and with RNG mixed into it, every win really feels like an accomplishment, especially in higher prestige. Almost can't believe it's on the ~$15 price range. I'd say it's a must have if you're a fan of this genre.
Also Personal favorite building combo: Carpenter + Brickyard. Other than the essential building materials, you get crystalized dew and tools for the cache and glade events. Cornerstones: Any free stuff delivery, unless you already have too much of said stuff. Free barrels with planks: since you're almost never gonna stop making planks, you can save up valuable copper bar/crystalized dew for more tools.
Also, setting limits to the production can be useful, usually a limit of 20 or 30 would be enough for general consumtion. You get notified when the laborer can be moved to do something else more useful at the moment.
Hey Vinny, I'd love to see you return to Farthest Frontier some time. I think you'd get a lot more out of it now that you've had some practice with these games. You've clearly gotten the hang of this game! Congrats on the hard victory.
