Exactly what I needed. I bought the after market ones a few years ago and they were flimsy and didn't work well. I noticed they were loose and not even as good as the new ones. As the original owner of the '77 so much needs to be upgraded.

I had the same project on my 75 and felt the new switches were cheap China crap .. so I kept the original switches and just cleaned the contacts real good and now they fly open and close 👍

Hello there sir quick question that you might have run into. I got new tail light lenses for my 79. Tried to install tonight the screws just kept turning and a few heads are stripped. Would you have any words of wisdom to get them off?? Luv the videos! Brian

Hi Brian. Did you try using a small damaged screw extractor kit? That may be the easiest way to get them out of there, hopefully without damaging the new lenses.
Here’s one offered by Amazon, but you can probably find one locally at Walmart, a hardware store, or an auto parts store. amzn.to/3OHYuRD
      Good luck! 🤞🏻😊👍🏻

@76vette Thanks for the response the screws just spin in the housing. They are the old bubble style. I am thinking of just carefully cracking the lens and pulling the screws out and installing the factory correct ones. Maybe I will cross my fingers and say a prayer 🙏 thanks again. Brian

@@brianwilson415 Is there any way to reach them from behind to try to push them out? I know that’s a long shot but desperate times call for desperate measures. Heck, I’d even try using a drop of crazy glue at the end of the screwdriver to see if that would help get them out far enough to maybe grab the heads with needle nose pliers. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have found replacement switches, but no one seems to have wiring connectors. Do you know of any source?

Search for power windows pigtail C3 Corvette. Many options available from Corvette parts vendors. Or buy from a Vette salvage yard if you want OEM parts. 😊👍🏻

Those switches should NOT be getting that hot just by one up and down cycle. There is something wrong with the circuits or most likely dirty tracks or the regulator needs to be greased. Pull the arm off the motor and run the motor again. If it still gets hot it is not the tracks. Motors my be about to go out.

My switch broke I just got my replacement part from eBay. It is made out of metal and now I know how to install it because of your video thanks you very much. I’m trying to sell my corvette and it needs working window switches lol.
