Awesome video man. We (HalferLand Performance) specialize in Honda Jseries Performance Parts. Our shop R&D (my daily) is a 550whp Turboed 06' Accord coupe 6spd, built with all of our HalferLand Performance parts (1300hp Rods, 800+HP Pistons, 800+HP Block Guards, HalferLand STAGE 2 cams, Our stage 1 PnP heads, etc etc) These really are great engines and finally becoming more popular. Edit - Damn the longer I watch the better it all gets. you did a hell of a job man 🤙
Thanks. I've been to your site before and I'll probably pick up some parts once I figure out the next stage of the build for this thing. Right now I'm actually working on another J2KAWD swap for someone, only this one is going into a 5th gen Prelude.
@@Prelude3g Keep up the great work. From everything I saw the work looks solid and you went about all of it the correct way, no bypassing specific needs or clearances. We've seen that too many times, people say "That's good enough" and the setup breaks in just a month. Your attention to detailed reminded me of my Accord Turbo Build, doin everything that needed to be done
I know this is a bit of an old video but hopefully you're still replying to comments! I am thinking of buying a 2006 Acura RL for a complete SH-AWD J35 swap into my 1999 honda CRV. How different would this swap be compared to yours?
It would be quite a lot more work. Mechanically you will also have to mount the SHAWD rear diff, get a custom length driveshaft. But the big thing is that you will have to use all the electronics from the RL related to the SHAWD and VSA systems. I believe they have inputs+outputs from a steering angle sensor, yaw sensor, g-force sensor, electric throttle, abs system, etc. All that needs to be transferred from the RL and working correctly or I suspect the SHAWD control unit will go into a limp or default mode and you won't be getting any of the benefits of the system.
@@Prelude3g ah okay I didn't realize there was that much going on with the 2006 and Sh AWD. Would an element drive train be a better option? Is that able to mate to a j and hold the power?
@@dillongray688 Well the Element is the same as the 02-06 CRV like shown in this video. I can't say exactly about holding the power. My CRV is just a street car running all season tires. The K-series gearbox has held up fine since I did the swap and it has been driven aggressively. But it just depends on how you want to use it and which J-series you want to mate it to, more peak torque, more likely to break something in the transmission.
Are you going to make more videos of this car? I would be interested to see a video of you driving the car and seeing how it would perform going uphill as an example.
I don't know how much a fab shop would charge for something this extensive, but probably well more that the market value of a CRV. I think you can use J swap parts for EK Civics to do it and save on fabrication cost. Not going to fit in the bay the same though, most of the other J swaps I've seen have almost no clearance at the front.
You put the engine it should have came with in the first place in it. I have a 04 MDX and a 99 CRV and I'm always like dam I want the mdx engine in the crv with an accord 6 speed . AWD J35 6 speed Crv with 2.5 inch lift and some 36s. YUUUUUUUP
RPM Systems can make you a harness: go-rpm.com/j_swap_harness If you want to use an OE ECU get a 99-01 Acura TL or 00-03 Acura CL ECU. The ECU needs to match the transmission type the motor originally had (Automatic ECU if the engine had and auto trans or manual ECU if it had manual). These ECUs are the easiest to use because the immobilizer board in the ECU can just be broken off, and the car will start. If you want to be able to tune it I believe you can use the AEM EMS 30-6051 instead. Additionally to get the tachometer working you should get a Dakotal Digital SGI-100BT universal interface. This is required to convert the 6cyl tach signal into a 4cyl one, so that the tachometer shows the correct RPM.
Bro, you are a fabrication genius. Easily one of the best Honda builders on YT. Awesome work!
Perfect car to try a remote mount turbo on for fun, an extra half atmosphere would be perfect and still be reliable.

What a badass build!
Interesting build. I look forward for more video. Keep up the great work
DUDE THE EARTHBOUND MUSIC!!!!
bro this is insane. Amazing build and very well documented
This is badass, I have a 98 auto awd but bought everything the manual swap it, was going k24awd route but this has me thinking now hahah
That is an insane amount of progress for this length of video. You said you were on a time crunch?
This footage was taken over several months. I got behind and didn't film the fabrication, just took pictures for a while.
I appreciate this work
Crazy swappers...lol Great job bro!

I love the build what tires are you running
The music is from earthbound! Nice choice
def following this build been tossing around the idea me self
Awesome, gotta love the J-series
Honda should just hire 🤝you bro👏
sick, everything
Nice this is a great swap i have one that i swapped a k24 motor in looking forword for more vids

Yeah there will be another one but I've been busy recently. Been dailying it and it's working great, does fine on hills as well.
Beautiful job
Amazing build!!!!!!!
Honda Wizard Bro. Shut up and take my money!
In Vietnam there is no mechanism to replace new engines. Where are you from? Do you have a license for the vehicle when replacing this engine?
Whats the hold up on part 3? Also, do you have a parts list anywhere?
Great work
Great work, how much did it cost?
I never add up the cost of a build, but this isn't going to be a cheap swap.
Just came across your channel. Dope work. Where are you located and what would a build like this come out to? J2k awd manual swap.

Yes sir!!!!
How did you get your fenders like that 🔥🔥
This is a freaking epic build man! Thank you for condensing it down to one video.. May I ask what wheel/tire set up you have at the end of the vid?
MSW Type 85, 16x7.5 42mm offset wheels with 225/60R-16 tires.
@@Prelude3g thank you! Any reason why you went 16s instead of 15s?
@@harrisdoesthings I wanted a wider tire that didn't change the overall diameter much. Couldn't find a good one in 15'.

So is the whole drive train from a MDX or shawd rdx?
Rear diff is from a 2011 Element, trans is from a 02-05 CRV, engine is from a 00-03 Acura CL Type-S.
is the transmission AWD manual? And where did you get the adapter plate?
What are your Tire and wheel specs. Also what wheels are those

No, minitec.

What harness did you use for this build
