Glad to hear you think our president is great too!! I just got the lvs34 and haven’t even had a chance to get on the water to use it. Your videos will definitely help me out in the future.
Great video. Can you demonstrate how the beam orientation (display) on screen rotates as your turn the direction of your transducer. When ice fishing in down mode i am struggling to figure out where front back left and right are in real time.
Great practical demo Randy! The prop used is a good realistic representation of the beam angle. A protractor would've been too small LOL. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours brother!
So if I was trolling hardware in 10-20’ of water 30’ behind the boat and I had an adjustable mount I could focus the image on all the gear on multiple rods at once huh???
Great videos - I’ve learned so much that’s helped me get started with my new 734 Sonar 👍 But I’m still confused on a few beam path issues: 1. In forward mode, does the display tell me whether what I see is left or right of centerline? Left to right on the graph are closer or further from the boar, right? 2. I Still struggle to pick up my bait in the water and I’m not sure if my casting is too far off, my forward facing is set up wrong (e.g. 8 degrees?) or I’m doing something else wrong. 3. I’ve heard that a “zero degree” transducer mount helps with that. Is that true and can you cover that, please? Any information and advice would be appreciated. Thx, Red
Great video! Does the Garmin Perspective mount give enough clearance if the TM Barrel to use a 0 degree mount? Thinking I will track my bait better with a zero degree. A pole mount is not an option for me.
Great demo Randy (as usual). Big fan from Belgium. Understand that the giveaway might be too expensive to ship to me 😉 but still hoping for a Xmas miracle 🎄🎅
I have my transducer angled up i can see ripples on the surface, What i cant see is my weightless super fluke. Doesnt matter if i work it up high or letting it sink. In 2 to 3 foot of water. Maybe the lure is just to small to pick up maybe? I was just out to test and didnt have any other setups to try.
@@NiteWolfeFishing you don’t need to do that forward mode because the beam already angles up. You just need to drop the install depth down a couple feet which slides the picture on the screen down so You can see the surface better
@@The_Garmin_Guru That being said can you explain why when I switch from down to forward without physically moving the transducer my display switches to point a different direction. Is there two separate elements each pointing a different angle? Thanks again. Love your videos.

Thanks Randy, great video and I needed that explanation. Question, I am a crappie and bluegill fishing fanatic mainly, do you think the perspective mode would be a good decision for me to look into for the the season when crappie and bluegill are in the shallow water season ? If so, I have a pole, what should I get to get a good perspective mode. As you say, the Garmin mount isn’t as close as it should be. I have not yet tried the the perspective mode at all. So I’m wanting direction. Some of what I got from this video. I have saw one mount on Facebook that advertises a zero mount with perspective that just clicks over, $30 aluminum. But I must make my mind up. Thank you Sir fir all your help man. You have put into this channel a lot of your time and efforts, I for one appreciate you greatly.
Great video on the beam angle projection and how to manipulate the transducer angle to get best results based on your needs. Brother you look skinny on the video. Have you been loosing weight? Congratulations, I need to do the same.
@@The_Garmin_Guru just checked out your class and definitely interested. My question is should I watch some of your free stuff prior to starting class? I literally know how to turn it on and have seen what I believe are fish. I am greener then green
@@gspotmxgilmore5080 that’s completely up to you bud. I know you won’t regret getting the class. I invite you to search for the topic of masterclass on my Facebook and read the reviews and post. It’s over 2 hours of instruction
You are sorta right and sorta wrong. The beam is the same, that is correct. How the information is displayed on the screen different. You can see 3D in perspective mode but not Forward and down. With perspective mode you can see right, left and closer and further away. With forward and down you only see a slice of closer and further away. You do not see right and left. You can figure out right and left by panning the transducer but you only get a slice that puts the whole 20 degrees on a single plane. perspective shows you the whole image 135 degrees wide by 20 degrees tall. Down and forward show 135 tall and only a slice that represents the whole 20 degrees. This is why I predicted forward facing sonar would go to a portrait orientated display. To say it another way, In forward mode point your sonar at a bush. Then show me on the screen the right side of the bush and the left side of the bush without panning the transducer. you can't do it. on perspective mode you can see right, left, closer and further.
The video wasn’t about what was portrayed on the screen the video was about how people think forward mode beam is smaller than down mode beam. And you can see 3 dimensional views on forwards and down mode. Find a ledge or creek channel and scan parallel down the edge and you’ll see a beautiful 3d pic. I understand what you’re saying but in forward and down as a whole you’re scanning perpendicular to the bottom where as in perspective you’re scanning parallel to the bottom.
You chose a great way to teach this concept. Well Done!
Appreciate the feedback. Glad to help!
I have a fish obsessed, it's incredible with the amount of viewing options.

There is no left and right in down mode. Only forward and behind the transducer is that makes sense bud
How will livescope forward and down mode work on a transom mount? The transducer is mounted in a fixed position.. can you change the modes on the MFD?
Awesome information that makes it easy to understand
Thank you Tom

Man idk if your own the garmin payroll or not if not u should be!.. u give out some awesome info 👍
I just need them to call me and I’ll quit my job tomorrow.
Thank you for your great videos! quick question: why is the Garmin pole mount angled?
To clear the trolling motor head
Are all 3 surfaces on the transducer running in all modes?
Yes
Another good one Randy
Yes sir
On the LVS 34 transducer which of the three flat surfaces do the beam primarily come from??
There are five beams. The three surfaces are the crystal receptors that receive the returns
Well thought out presentation.
Thank you bud
Need a weapon boats and innovations pole that you can adjust up and down from the top of the pole.

The summit fishing mount is the only way. Infinite adjustments for any angle and tough
