Can’t wait to see more of your incredible work! Not only is your content educational, but an absolute pleasure to watch. Thanks for your work, I appreciate you.
Not an oyster fan me, had a bad experience with some kind of shelled horror on a school day trip to a beach, way way back. Recall it like it was yesterday. Straight off a rock, "eat it, you will like it" they said. oh dear god, the sand, the salt water, the slimy gelatinous snot like thing. 🤢 Learned a valuable lesson that day, don't eat stuff on rocks! Anyway, looking forward to the build. Cheers
I didn’t try one until I was in my late 40’s. I like them. Not all the time though. They have to be filtered and washed through for days. Whoever told to eat them off a rock was insane. It’s illegal to sell oysters that haven’t been purged. The same with snails apparently. Thanks for your post. C
I get my parts from all over. The necks I have a stick of. The bodies I either make or get them as rejects. There’s a company here called booboo guitars that’s a sideline for a company that makes necks and bodies. I buy the worst ones and repair them. Hardware is mostly from AliExpress. I look for better quality stuff. I occasionally get crap but mostly it’s top notch. C

This has been suggested. I’m not sure I can be bothered with inlays. I’m too impatient and I’m not much for decoration beyond dots. I’m too eager to get in to the next guitar build to spend days cutting and fitting inlays.
Thanks Mario. Hope you are well. I’m looking forward to it too. I’m going to upset my wife with yet another guitar to store. I’m really going to have to start selling them. C
I am newly subscribed and your videos have been a huge break from work over the last couple days. I’ve always been a tinker with my gear but I’ve been out of the game for so long since kids came along. Now you’ve got me wanting to make a maple neck for my 88 jap strat. I’m loving the channel and the quality production. Cheers from Houston Texas.
Lovely to hear you have been inspired. I make necks and bodies as required. But when it comes to Strats and Teles there are so many good parts out there to be had it doesn’t make sense to me to scratch build them. Often a decent neck can be bought for less than the cost of the wood. I see them as starting points and modify them to my taste. Just a thought. No rules here. C
Wonderful stuff. So inspiring. Stumbled upon your channel upon decision to add building the guitars to repertoire after 30 years of playing the instrument, I did apprenticeship in luthier’s workshop when I was 19. Cheers! 🍻
@@chrisreynoldsguitarmaking it will for sure Chris as I’ll be stripping it all to bare wood, refret job, clay dots etc. I find your channel extremely useful as we both in the UK and I need to get all the tools etc. pretty much build the workshop from scratch.
Looking forward to this. Currently trying to re spray a Stratocaster myself but either it’s raining or too much breeze. Taken me two weeks so far to get 3 coats on it. I believe painting is also your least favourite area of guitar building due to the inconsistency of weather here in Blighty? Hope the move goes well and looking forward to your next build. Should be good.
I loathe finishing. It tests my patience. It’s fiddly and easy to ruin. I’m getting better but it’s never going to be fun for me. France is in limbo. The property market is in chaos. It may happen it may not. We are hopeful. C Thanks so much for your comment
Ha ha. I’d love to help. I know from my luthier brothers that Floyd rose installation is a world of pain. 22 frets easy as it’s basically a fingerboard extension and the neck and joint are the same. The two humbuckers is nice but I think I would probably just grab a Les Paul. You make a good point about the flexible configurations. I must try and bury my own preconceptions and be more open about different attitudes to the Stratocaster.
My first guitar was a Squier Strat (much like the one you're holding, minus the playability and the sound). It was a pretty bad specimen, but I've since made peace with them and I'm very much so looking forward to your build. A colection is not complete without a good stratocaster. Cheers, Chris!
Can't wait for this one Chris, hope you're having fun in Paris! Found a place in France yet? Inspired by your Tele build, I'm about to start making my first partscaster (a black double bound Tele with a P90 in the neck and rosewood/roasted flame maple neck).
Oooo that sounds very nice. I’m in the process of buying a place. It’s fraught at the moment as the sales in Paris are dead. It could take a long time. But… everything comes to he who waits. C
Unfortunately not. Reynolds is derived from McRannall who were a marauding Irish Clan. I’m part Irish on my mothers side too. If only I could get an Irish passport I could escape the Brexit arsehattery.

Thanks Richard. New strat build series should start the end of this week

Looking forward to the next video. Have fun in France.
Me too. I love a Strat.
Tres jolie! I look forward to seeing from where you source your parts. Maybe use some of those oyster shells for inlays!

New subscriber here, I’ve binged all previous videos in just a couple of days. Really enjoy the whole vibe of this channel, and lovely guitars too!

The shells could be the inlays😁

This is going to be fun. I can get some useful tips on one of my cheap guitars that I've wanted to mod. Can't wait!

Can you make it a 22 fret, 2 x humbucker loaded strat with a Floyd Rose please so I know what to do with my next build? 😂

For you next build after your Strat could you build an sg or a Brian may guitar

Totally agree. A strat is essential
Never built one but I have heavily modified one or two! Should be interesting and can’t wIt to see what you come up with !! Thanks Chris all the best!
