I always tell people when making choices, "look at the cons and ask yourself, can you life with those? If not, don't do it." and that helps at least narrow down the choices.

I am considering our new corporate standard laptop, and this really does not meet the bill, with single channel out of the box, poor audio output, and 250 nits display. Why doesnt HP go with the 400-450nits displays like its competitors? These dim displays really detract from the user experieince.
Thanks. The 445 G7 I am reviewing next has upgraded audio, in fact v. good for a general all-rounder laptop. Agree with the poor display options. Panel is still 250 nits on the 445 G7 unless you go for the 1000 nits Sure View model. I noticed the new Lenovo ThinkPad T14i is also 250 nits base models, but you can pay the extra £50 for the 400 nits panel instead. Plus the ThinkPad is in direct competition with the EliteBook G7 series that also has 400 nits display options.
Just an observation when using this review model with 8GB RAM. Upgrade or buy the 16GB dual channel version. 8GB not enough to encode on Premiere Pro (v14.3)

The HP ProBook 455 G7 has just launched with the newer AMD Ryzen 4000 series processors. Had a couple of days to play with one this week, definitely the one to go for.
This CPU is under performing. I have a laptop with the same CPU and I got 103 points in 1-core (vs 48.6), 196 points in 2-core (vs 164), 368 points in 4 core (vs 269) and 510 points in 8-core tests (vs 518). Those low single and dual core speed means this laptop would not be as snappy as it could be. The same CPU barely turbo to 2.65 GHz avg in this laptop vs 3.1GHz avg in my laptop. Something wrong here.

No, the standard IPS display as the Sure View model wasn't available. It's the same gen3 panel used on the Elite Dragonfly I reviewed not long ago. The technology is getting better with every gen version. Dragonfly G2 will be the first to use the gen4 Sure View panel later this Summer.
Will you try to Update its BIOS? I've went to HP communities and have found out that since updating their BIOS, their webcam stopped working and being detected by the laptop, most of them ended up with having their camera module replaced.
Next video up is the HP ProBook 445 G7 with the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U CPU. Going to compare the 3700U vs 4700U. 👌

Does anyone have a problem with this laptop where it randomly hibernates when in use and charging? (The screen displays 'Locking...' and hibernates. )
Seems my probook 455r g6 ryzen 3700u doesn't have TPM. Haven't been able to install windows 11.
You can use the Windows 11 registry hack to get around this TPM limitation. 👍

Some ProBook models do not have backlit keys. Depends on region.
