Omg. I am a pitcher who has had chronic golfers elbow for 4 years (basically all throughout highschool) and not a single physical therapist has ever done this or even mentioned it. What if you get golfers elbow on the other arm from massaging the first injury arm

Thanks. I train in and teach boxing and Muay Thai; and had developed this in the left forearm from doing left hooks. I wasnt even able to hold pads to train students. Five days into your Tx (3-4x daily, ~1 min per Tx) and the pain has disappeared. Best wishes!

A few pointers for others just coming across this- don't go crazy with it- only do the treatment if you are feeling pain when moving through full range of motion, and only do just enough to alleviate the pain.
The first night I did this I applied gentle pressure and woke up the next morning with no elbow pain for the first time in months, so I got really excited, tried a few pullups, still felt some pain while doing that exercise, figured "more is better" and went nuts with applying pressure, which agitated the injury and it got much worse the next day. After that, I rested it for a day, then started only doing the therapy when I felt pain during everyday activities, and went gently- just enough to numb the area, and it improved again
Thank you for this video. I was suffering from the golfers elbow and it was tender to the touch and getting worse. The cross fiber friction massage was effective. The most helpful point was that it should initially hurt but it starts to get better after 10-15 seconds. The explanation of the scar tissue also helped for the visual. Thank you. Great video.
Thank you for what you guys do! I just tried this massage therapy out (using my knuckles instead to dig deeper and not get tired out as fast) and my pain is considerably less than what it was originally. After a few minutes of rest, I do start to feel the original pain again, but it does appear to be to a lesser extent. I will continue to use this method along with the flexbar and normal stretching and report back in a few weeks time. I've had this issue for over a year now and this, so far, has been the only thing that actually lessens the pain and weakness in my grip. Stretching and other exercises I've tried just don't seem to work, so I'm really thankful I found you guys! Thanks again!

Hey guys, thanks for the helpful tip. I'm mid 40s and my pain started after doing chin ups. It's been hurting for months now but that massage finally helped. I think it's fascinating that although the pain is localized to my elbow, my whole body feels better after the massage.
mid 60s here and chin ups don't bother my elbow but pull ups do. Neutral grip pull ups bother it as well. Never had a problem with my elbow before starting up with pull ups recently.

Yep. A LOT of repetitive pronation/supination and flexion/extension with knitting. Do regular stretches before and after knitting sessions to help maintain the recovery.

3+ years of torture that keeps coming back. This has affected my fitness journey many times and still does. I lost all hope in recovery and im considering getting checked for a surgery.
BagoFit Reborn find a chiro who is skilled in Active Release Technique. It forcibly breaks up the scar tissue and smooths out the tendon. It is the closest thing that exists to a cure for tendonitis. Surgery is worthless for this condition.
I'm gonna give this a shot. I've been having chronic pain, probably due to lifting heavy with small hands, which puts a lot of stress on my forearms. Will report back with results.
Same any results? I do a lot of heavy lifting every Friday night at my job plus I have small joints and hands as well. I’m only 23 I never though I’d experience this kinda stuff.
PLEASE READ THIS MIGHT HELP YOU! - OK, so I was adamant that I had golfers elbow, given I had all the hallmarks - sore inner elbow, couldn't extend arm without severe pain etc. and the onset was literally a few days after playing a few hours of golf. It was causing me serious problems driving and doing sports, so I saw a doctor who said I had tendinitis (golfers elbow) and that i needed rest and ibuprofen to reduce any swelling. This was useless, so after a few more weeks of little improvement in the pain I went to a physio who diagnosed my issue as ulna nerve damage straight away. After two sessions of acupuncture and dry needling along the ulna nerve in my arm, my pain was relieved almost instantly. The symptoms of ulna nerve damage and golfers elbow are almost identical so please bear in mind this could be your problem! It solved my problem so it is definitely worth bringing up with your doctor or a physio. Hope this helps someone!

I am 40 and just started training jiu jitsu 4 months ago. I began having this inside elbow pain for about 2 months now. It feel like fire that spreads down.
I am glad I found your video! After researching, I believe my lats are weak and stiff so I’m incorporating stretching for the lats and some isometric strength on the muscles around the elbow. But with very very light weight. Like 2 lbs.

Just went from no milking to milking 4 goats twice a day. Every day. I try to mix it up and use different angles and techniques for milking, but it's still a boatload of gripping! Huzzah for PT!

I had my ulna nerve surgery a year ago and then I had pain in that area after a workout. Doing my research I figured out that I had Golfer,s Elbow and was relieved because it has gotten better after ice, stretches and the finger exercises you stated after a week. I will go back to the gym but will be taking it easy until it has completely healed. Thank you for this video it helped me so much.

That's how my pain started. Have gone exclusively to hammer curls with no pain but I'm not seeing the bicep results I would like. Hopefully this technique fixes it so I can get back to regular curls.

There are a few factors in treating tennis elbow at home. One resource I found which successfully combines these is the Freds Elbow Helper (google it if you're interested) definately the most helpful resource that I have ever heard of. Check out the incredible info .

I'm 28 and started developing golfers elbow by trying to curl too heavy... Fortunately I recognized the problem before it got too painful but its definitely impacted my workout... Ive dropped the weight and will be implementing this method to see if that fixes it. Thanks :)

Thanks so much for this video! The inside of my elbow has been hurting for months but I couldn't figure out why. I did what you showed and though I hurt like heck after about a minute or two the pain was significantly less! I will continue to do the cross rubbing of the muscle till it completely stops hurting. Hey guys, I started climbing about 6months back and have developed a pain on the inside of the elbow just like your describe here. Been doing massage but wasn't aware of the cross-fiber technique. Thanks a lot for your well made and explanatory video, hopefully this'll help me get back on the wall sooner. I have a quick question though, I'd really appreciate if you could give a quick answer. Yesterday my elbow was pain-free, and I did about 5 minutes of cross-fibre massage from the elbow down the entire forearm. The remainder of the day my elbow was sore, and still is today. Is this normal, and should I just continue with massage sessions? It sort of feels like I'm aggravating the issue as opposed to fixing it. Any input would be gladly appreciated!
I recently got this from rock-climbing because of the insane forearm-growth I’ve had recently. It is still only minor and I only have pain right after training, I really hope this will work!
I've come here for the same reason. How is your recovery going? Its Christmas day and I've been given a bouldering mat and a gri gri that I can't yet use.
Richard Roberts I have actually completely recovered. The technique used here is crucial, but not perfect. If you have the same problem I had, perhaps on both arms here is what I did: 2 weeks without any climbing at all. No mater how much you want to, don’t, it will set you back. While not climbing do what is shown in the vid, but also do dynamic stretches for your arms (like full circle swinging them, shaking, vertical swings). Do this every day and you should be able to get back to the gym after two or maybe 3 weeks
@@Norsketrutt Thanks for the reply. I've had the issue for a while now and it has gotten much better. Every now and again it gives me a signal that it's still not quite gone. I haven't climbed for around two months now. I'll put these techniques into use and see if I can get back to 100% before climbing again.

So I've got golfer's elbow in both arms, without a doubt. I've got tendonitis in my knee too according to the doctor that I saw, but I guess that's a conversation for a different day. I can't afford the therapy appointments, so here goes- It doesn't interfere with anything, it's mild, but I want to get into serious, competition level grip training. I got golfer's elbow at my last job loading 5 gallon water bottles into trucks, so I quit, gave them lots and lots of rest, like 6 months worth, and thought it was healed in my right arm. Not long after I started grip training with the Vulcan gripper, as soon as I started making serious steady gains, it came back in my right arm. It never went away in my left arm, but training didn't make it any worse. I just tried your technique- my elbows are sore now, but in a good way, and the tendonitis pain is gone. Should I just work with a flexbar, do your massages, and some ice massages, and train through the pain? Will it ever really go away? If so, how would I know I'm ready to start training?
***** I certainly do have a tendency to jump into things. I don't know if you've seen the Vulcan Gripper, but it can be adjusted from old lady strength low resistance to so much residence that it's the reason it is used in competition. Could it maybe be used in conjunction with the Theraband Flexbar? High rep sets with very low resistance or isometric holds before or after Flexbar sets? What type of resistance training is best for strengthening tendons? Holds, eccentric work like the Flexbar, high reps? I really, really appreciate y'alls input. Do you have a website or a Facebook page?

Wow i used this technique instinctively but not long enough (as i didnt know the science behind it) for most of my tendons and muscles pains. Now i get confirmation that i should keep doing it!!

Thanks for the tips. I have it on both arms from intensive fitness going from 60 to 90 kg on the lat pulley in 2 months and then started to do daily pull ups.

@@MrWisconsintrapper Rest for a very long period (4 months). Totally have no training on my arms. After that give my arms more time to recover after training with rest and food. I have to accept it's a weak point and I recover slower due to age.
@@hansdegebruiker1968 i have pretty much quit working out. Pull ups, and most curls I havent done for weeks. Did you ice, voodoo floss, do physical therapy wrist curls, stretch wrists too? Or just plain rest only?
@@MrWisconsintrapper in the beginning I did therapy with light weight curls. But that didn't help at all. I stopped and only started to drive bicycle to keep in shape. Now everything is fine again and do strength work outs only 3 times a week.

This is one of the hardest pains to get over, I know from personal experience! Funny how the guys mention common between 40-60 year olds...I suspect the muscles are extremely fatigued from use, misuse and overuse at this point and can't take it anymore. You can't get over this within a few days, more like a few months if your lucky. Follow up with stretching, massage, strength exercises, tiger balm, ice, vitamin supplements for joint and tendon heath, etc. Good luck, thanks for posting! p.s. Concentrate on the upper side of the forearm too, there needs to be a balance of strength between lower and upper muscles....so much to know! :0)

here's a few ideas about treating tennis elbow naturally
try ice packs on the affected area
consuming celery may be beneficial
try omega-3 supplements
try a hot potato pack to help pain
(I learned these and why they work on Secret Elbow Tactics site )
Active Release Technique (by someone who’s good) will get rid of it. The scar tissue needs to be forcefully broken up so the tendon can glide smoothly.

I don't have elbow pain but I have/had a wrist problem. Doing this, I really felt my wrist loosen up for the first time in 8 months. Had trouble doing push ups because I felt a pinch at the wrist and I really couldn't stretch it. And I notice when I went to sleep and stretch my arm out. It didn't lay 180 degrees and kinda felt like a little tug at the elbow as it rested at 150 degree sorta. And never realized the tightness I had on my elbow. Doing this really help loosen it up and free me from some wrist pain. Thanks guys

Thanks for all your video's. I just stared working out again in the gym, and feel my tendons a bit after 3 sessions. But my pain is really soft and only at 1 spot right in the middle of the 'pit'

I work in construction and have been working more hours then usually. Which I’m assuming is what caused this. I have had this for almost 3 months. My pain is right on the bone on both arms. I hope this helps. It’s not a serious pain, and doesn’t stop me from doing regular daily activities. But it’s annoying for sure.
also want to add you can get this from rock climbing. I believe (correct if I am wrong) it can be caused because your forearm muscles will strengthen significantly faster than your tendons.

Please do some videos addressing server injuries. Constant polishing and carrying heavy plates causes golfers elbow. Standing table side in a slight bend and awkward lifting cause back issues. And don’t even get me started on the feet! 14 hour days are no joke!

About this golf elbow thing, there's no exercises? Just the massage?
I don't know how I hurt my elbow but my pain was too much as I was trying to do shoulder shrugs. It was bad enough, to the point where I had to go home. I'm going to try your guy's and other professional advice for a week without lifting too heavy.

Wow, I can feel relief immediately! Even after a mere 10-15 seconds of massage. I find that using three fingers (index, middle, and ring) around and under the bone protrusion seems to target the pain better (the ring finger does very little work, perhaps it just supports the middle finger some), assuming you can apply sufficient force with three fingers.
I just discovered that using the knuckles of the middle and ring fingers seems to do an even better job, without putting strain on your fingers (i.e., you can do it longer).
