Corey, thanks so much. You were actually the first person I thought of when you instructed to think of gratitude about someone whose work has benefitted you. I did just experience a moment of discomfort with thinking about someone who I deeply love and who loves me back, since I lost my husband 15 months ago and he unfortunately was my only family member. A good friend came to mind, so that put me back on the right track. And then it occurred to me that I could be that person for myself…nothing wrong with self love…in fact, that may be where love can and should begin so then we could live others.

Ellen, thank you so much for thinking of me. It sounds like you had a wonderful practice. I know thinking of the person you lost was painful, but I still think that's a beautiful moment, even with the discomfort, for you to sit with that. It's very human. Thank you for your lovely comment.

I gave thanks to my mom who brought me up the best that she could despite her own shortcomings and difficulties, something that I would not have been able to do so 1-2 years ago. I gave thanks to the difficult ppl in my life for letting me be more aware of what I can and cannot tolerate in terms of boundaries, for teaching me self- respect and how I want to be treated. Thank you for the hard times for making me more resilient and teaching me that I can get through things. Thank you for simple comforts that I sometimes take for granted. Have a peaceful Thanksgiving everyone - be kind to yourselves 🙏🙏

this is literally my favorite guided meditation, i listen to it every other day. are there more ones on this channel like this, that are more focused on surroundings and thoughts instead of breathing? for some reason with my anxiety focusing on my breath stresses me out.

Try searching for loving-kindness on our channel, they are similar practices to this one.

I don’t know if you are familiar with this Ted talk, but what you said about gratitude for people whose efforts benefit us reminded me of this. This author wrote a book and did a TED talk focusing on all that went into his morning cup of coffee, from people planting the beans to the barista serving it…and travelled to meet some of them. ruclips.net/video/L375-rWJVmU/видео.html
