CF is a terrible disease. I work at a children's hospital and have seen so many pass from complications from CF and cancer. They are the bravest little soldiers I've ever seen. So innocent and they find the good in everything even when they are going through tough treatments. Its bittersweet working with them. I've been working in pediatrics for 28yrs and you never get immune I have driven home many a times crying and praying for the families of these beautiful souls. I am honored to be just a small part of their lives and they always make me smile..it makes you realize how someone could be gone in the blink of an eye. So it makes you treasure every moment you have with the ones you love and let them know how much you love them everyday.
I really don't know how she didn't break down singing this!! Such a strong women my daddy and mamaw are my angels in waiting and I know I will see them again one day thats whats promised to us by God!

20 years ago I met a woman whose newborn was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). When I called it by it’s nickname (16 roses - because this is how little kids would mispronounce the disease) she asked how I knew. I told her that a college friend of mine had it and would go to the local Children’s Hospital for his “tune ups”. The next time she saw me she told me how happy I had made her and her husband to know that my friend had lived a productive life into his 20’s with CF. The life expectancy was just reaching the mid-20’s at that time. It is now in the late 30’s. Thank you for playing this song - it reminded me to pray for the woman’s son and for the soul of my friend who died at 29.

Cystic fibrosis is a severe respiratory disease where you can't properly expectorate the mucus in your lungs and your lungs slowly become hard to where you can't breathe on your own (I'm a nurse).
@@driggs2109 it's horrible honestly. Eventually they would've needed a machine to help them breathe. Medicine has made progress but it's unlikely that a person with it lives past 30.
Sissy’s Song by Alan Jackson is a must watch. Along with Stronger than I am by Lee Ann Womack, as that is a song I connected with the most when my marriage ended when our daughter was 8 months old. Even 18 years later, she is still stronger than me.
My older brother Nicky had Down syndrome. He died six months after his 40th birthday June 20th 2009. I love you and miss you so much Nicky nick aka superman.
My brother was run over. He is currently still with me, sadly he is in end stage renal failure. He is only 23 and bc of the damage the accident they can’t put him to sleep to do a kidney transplant.
CF is a horrible illness, in the 1980's life expediency was about 12 now its possible to reach 30 may the research continue and may they find the cure.
my best friends little girl is 10 and has cf thank you for playing my request and just a update i have been home from the hospital about 2 weeks but the visiting nurse has to come now everyday to pack and change my dressing and the surgern told me to have my visiting nurse take out the stitches that r in the new feeding tube but i'm doing ok they just don't went me going out my birthday in saturday and my sister is not even coming over cause of this thing thank you for doing my request

My friends son died from cystic fibrosis he was 19 years old cystic fibrosis affects the lungs it’s a horrible disease.

My 8 yo has a 14th chromosome deletion. Drs give him until hes 10. As its attacking his brain.
