PSA: Don't go out on a day hike in a national park without water, food, a lighter, a phone/compass and map, layers, a knife/multitool, a first aid kit, and an emergency shelter system. It is incredibly easy to get lost in the woods, even for those with lots of outdoor experience, and come nightfall, especially if the weather turns, you are at risk of exposure before morning. Being prepared with a few small items in your daypack could mean the difference between life and death if ever you lose your way. Stay safe out there folks!
Imagine if you had to go through daily life like this. Time to make breakfast! Oh, the fuse in the toaster is missing, the spare fuse is locked in the cellar but I need to rewire a car engine first in order to retrieve the key. 😒
Gotta love the logic in this kind of games - it's your own office but everything is either locked (and you don't have the key for some reason xD) or you have to solve the puzzle. That said, the game seems incredibly atmospheric, and I liked it 👍👍
I just imagined the eventual reveal that Aurora Hills and its park had architectural consulting by George Trevor. (iyk,yk.) Meanwhile, the ambience gave me a bit of Alan Wake II feels. Ethan better hope that replacement lantern battery doesn't run out of juice.
that radio news report at the beginning was the most realistic news report I've heard in a video game in a long time lol like, not just its delivery and its words but its sound was spot on
I came here to say this! It’s a tough cadence to nail which sucks because when it isn’t done almost perfectly it can really take me out of the immersion but this one was really excellent.
A park ranger without a pocket knife at minimum is amusing to me. Lol Love these vids! Not my type of game I like playing, but I really enjoy watching you play them!
I bet the culprit was a Root Bear! Seriously though, I gotta thank you for playing these types of games! I lack the patience to deal with puzzles like this, but I love all the visuals and storytelling behind them!
31:17 The triangles and trapezoids, like the lines, are only counting the ones uninterrupted by other strings. I was surprised by the low number too (I got 13, 6, and 6) but we were apparently solving a harder puzzle than what was written 😂
I don’t know what it is about your videos, probably the calm but enthusiastic way you approach mystery games like these, but they’re perfect for me to put on when I’ve had a bad or chaotic day. This one is no different. Thank you!
Me on the West Coast of Canada: That news reporter at the beginning sounds so familiar, like someone on Global News... *looks up game dev studio* They're based in Alberta, Canada! I couldn't see from the credits but I wonder if they asked a real news reporter from one of our Canadian channels to do that voice acting part! :D
We are so in sync lately that I have a terrible time deciding if I should watch or play the game first 😂 It’s hard when your fav streamer/RUclipsr has the exact taste as you.
Love watching you play these kind of games Gab,. I enjoyed watching you play all chapters of Meridian. can't wait to see you play Chapter 2 when it releases. Always fun seeing you play these puzzle type games :)
@@adidevs2082 When I wrote that, my comment made a lot more sense, because my name was "ItsJen" at that time and I really don't look anything like the character in the game :D
@darkwickgames7175 True. It also reminds me of the famous Hoia Baciu Forest in Cluj County, Romania. With all it's supernatural history esp of people going missing and strange lights (if the game later has those strange lights features). And these graphics are fantastic. ^^ Sad we have to wait for chapter 2. I'm so engrossed in this. ^^
Using Unreal Engine 5 to make the environments and the animations for this game is such a good use of its features! It saves a lot of time for the developer and gives, even smaller games, a quality feel.
I absolutely love the games you play, Gab. I haven't been able to watch your streams since I changed jobs and had a baby, but your videos still bring me absolute joy and fun during my free time.
YT randomly put this in my recommends, and now I’m desperately wishing I still had the attention span for video games. I would’ve LOVED to have games like this back in the late 90s, when I was a teenager & in my peak video game era. I remember how tough it was to find anything like this…it was all shooters & high fantasy combat. I just wanted a good story & vibes😭
1979? My birth year. Heavy duty coffee maker ha ha. Going through stuff in the attic, I found my reels to my viewfinder i use to have. I'll have to check this out.
I really loved the vibe of this game, it was so peaceful while being very story telling and the puzzles werent something I was horribly baffled by so it was nice to understand with you this time! I love that jen just went off without us by herself in a town where people are disappearing 😂 girl of course your going to disappear
I really love the games these developers have made so far. The puzzles are so good, and the story is really interesting. I love the mystery. It’s going to be a hard wait for the next chapter. 😊
Enjoyed this Evelyn. Calming also good puzzles was stumped a few times truthfully. Can't wait till chapter 2. Please play this more when out. Think you will. Hopes so. Take care xx
29:09 Boy kitty jumped up on the tv stand when you started moving photos around and tried to grab the cursor, lol! I think the thread might have caught his attention, he LOVES yarn. He doesn’t usually watch much tv. 😸
Such a nice game to sit down and watch after a god awful day. Thank you Gab for always being so excited and enjoying games you're playing with full energy
i wish i can get Gab to play Shadows of Doubt :( it's such a fun game with all the actual detective work in that game, i bet it's going to be fun for her
Games like this just take me straight back to "The Myst" game on pc and you represented a good example of why you explore everything in games, must not miss a thing, or else theory. 😊👌
I need to know the story!!! Her boots were standing there still!! I want to play and look at every detail for hints in the pictures of what it might be
This was really solid. I once played a game called Enigma on Playstation, which was also a point and click mystery / puzzle solving game. I wish this was a bit longer / had some more story. But now knowing that this is a thing, I'll check out Meridian.
As a WV native, I RAN to the comments section with excitement! I get the human version of the zoomies when I see my home state represented in games. Will come back and edit once the video is done with my thoughts! Holy crap I love it!

Maybe the people aren't lost or missing. They're just stuck in the woods doing puzzles.
I'd get stuck there on purpose just to do those puzzles
This made me giggle thank you.
I cant stop laughing at this comment lololololol
our Ranger bestie really left to work in the woods with nothing but a chapstick in his pocket and a spring in his step huh
Well, he didn't have his compass anymore after he pooped it out and it got stuck in the pipes.
That's just called being a man lol
@@gunmandooHate it when that happens
The detail😮 even the windscreen of the car is dusty at the edges where the wipers cant reach. Very much looking forward to the rest of this!
Very intrigued indeed❤

This reminds me of the Malcolm in the middle changing the lightbulb skit.
