as a witch who works at a thrift store… thrift stores are AMAZING for witchy supplies. i’ve built almost my entire altar and book collection from my store alone
people are so rude to other people for shopping for witchy things at walmart. while walmart far from the greatest store, sometimes they are the only place that has things that are in my budget. great video
Um...my reasons for anti-walmart is the way they treat their people. Such a large corporation and they won't take care of their people. The rampant under hour-ing to keep benefits away from the employees. I take my moth eaten wallet elsewhere as it's what my poor a$$ can do to give the bird to places like that. I'm not going after someone's only option if that's all ya got! I do without many things or save for something that will last way longer than something 'cheap.' We loved it when I was younger and it was touted that they were all American products (not trying to be anti other countries) things were actually pretty good for what I remember. I'm a sucker for cool glassware too!
I DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT A FAKE CANDLE FOR MY ANCESTOR ALTAR. That's brilliant, I never burn my candles as often as they deserve because I'm busy and worry about fire hazards. You just saved me so much grief (and money)!!! Thank you, auntie!
One word, teacups. I've been getting into tea leaf reading a lot lately so pretty teacups and saucers are so fun to get. I really want to get a full set! But I'm currently in uni halls and would have nowhere to put it
For stickers (mainly the last layer of sticker that won't peel off and the sticky residue) I usually use nail polish remover wipes and it works like a dream for me.
And for things the nail polish remover will harm, lemon essential oil is amazing! If you don't have lemon, olive will do but it doesn't break down the glue in the same way.
Over here in the UK we have a shop called "British heart Foundation" and I saw a grape shaped glass dish and next to it was a mini statue of a woman with a grape basket. I should have gotten it when I had the chance, sorry Dionysus I missed that opportunity 😅
For the wooden bowl, you can sand the patches where stickers were, and then stain it with oil to protect the wood. Flax oil is the best for wood finish. That's how I repair my bowls. (I have a way too much of them) Hope that helps.
Flea markets can also be a great source for items, I got a great deal on a jewelry box that looks like the one you got at one. And you can always try to haggle them down for a lower price on items, sometimes they will go for the lower price others they will say sorry and they are firm on the price. The jewelry box I had seen at one for a long time and each time I would mention a lower price and for a while they said no, but then one day they finally said yes to the price I was wiling to pay for it.
I have found so much of my witchy things at thrift stores! As well as 30+ books on so many different things usually a lot on astrology. I also love to find books for hikes in my area and informational guide books on all kinds of things and thrift stores are super awesome for that!
Always get my candles from thrift stores cause they will just throw a whole crap ton into a bag for $3 at goodwill. Plus all the other stuff - jars, bells, boxes all the good stuff
This timing is WILD because I went on a witchy thrift store trip just today! I got a jewelry box that I'm planning to use as a shrine/subtle altar. I'm also super reluctant to spend money, but it was perfect!
This reminds me of someone who was also looking for candle holders while thrifting and she asked me what I needed them for. When I told her I was a witch, I thought her eyes might fall out of her head! 😂
Since watching your video with The Witch of Wonderlust where you went thrifting, I’ve become much more alert to what I could find for both my practice and alters. I definitely now give my candles taps, slaps and cleansing to wake them up for a new journey with me. I have even started looking in the scarves and throws for possible alter cloths and head coverings. I’ve found so many wonderful items thanks to you both on that video. It has opened my eyes to looking at other items for other uses in my practice, for example, a silver plated sugar bowl to use as a mini cauldron or a silver chalice to use as an offering vessel. Not to mention the stunning bottles, candles and wooden book holder I found at garage sales in my area. Thank you for sharing your ideas and helping all of us with our the individual journeys and practices.
Always go thrifting for all my witch stuff usually, you can always find such gems for such low prices. I'm in the UK and normally I go pillaging in my local charity shops, especially since all the money for witchy things goes to a good place! Beautiful video as usual hun!! Keep it up!!
Steaming the stickers off works really well and is my go to. Also is a good gentle way to cleanse In my opinion as you can add stuff to the water you are boiling
Frankie I'm 40 seconds into the vid but let me tell you I LOVE the image quality or maybe is the light? or the color editing... I dont know but it's LOVELY would love to keep seeing it 🧚♀️💗 thats all I'll keep watching
My dollar tree has really good 9 day candles. I just bought 6 the other day for 7 dollars. Also you can find really good cork stoppers in the dollar tree craft sections
For cleansing wood you can use an oil it helps give the would a protective layer as well. Seriously when you go into the hardware store they have lemon oil that you can use on wood. You can also make your own lemon oil orange oil they use as well. And again that something you can make so that you can charge your oil. Or you can get some from the hardware store and charge that.
For stickers on metal or glass there is some stuff called Goo Gone, works like a charm. Also, denatured coconut oil will work on glass, metal, and wood, with some patience and elbow grease. For books try Un-Do. You need a window open when you're working with it, and you gotta go slow and not rub too hard but it'll get the sticker and the residue off and not leave an oily spot. It evaporates fast so only a few drops at a time, use the included scraper tool to slowly work the edges of the sticker up, and then once you get it off, use a paper towel and a few more drops to gently buff up any residue that's left. I buy a lot of used books and Hate stickers. 👍🏻😀👍🏻
For stickers I use just a damp papertowel/cloth towel and leave it on for a few minutes before rubbing them off. For cleansing wood objects, I use Pinesol or Old English, especially the lemon scent!
Absolutely agree, thriftstores are an amazing place to source when you're broke (and for sustainability as well!) - I get all my candles second-hand and I recently found an incredible introductory book about astrology that I'm super excited to dig into! A book haul sounds fantastic :) great content as usual!
Frankie, as someone who also venerates the dead, I recomend using an oil lamp for all day access, instead of using the electric candle. Some oils can be highly flammable, but if olive oil touches the flame it will not combust, but rather the flame will be drenched. Olive oil is not that flammable than what most people think. Also I bet your italian ancestors would love an olive oil lamp.
You can use walnuts to get scratches out of wood. Just rub the walnut directly into the groove/scratch in the wood and it sort of reduces the severity of the scratch...just like magic ☆😉
tip if you wanna cleanse wood with a liquid and dont know the effect, you can test it in a discreet area you wont see like the back of it or the inside of a leg if its furniture to see if it messes it up!
you mention using rue a lot, it would be cool if you did a video discussing what kind of herbs are best for your cleansing needs like juniper vs. cedar (also I heard cedar was part of a closed practice?) vs. rue vs. sage (non white)
Happy for you! I love thrift stores & dollar trees! You can get sticker residue off with goof off or goo gone on metal & glass. Buying seeds is cheap and you can grow the herbs you need so you're a part of the whole process.
Thrift stores, yard sales and estate sales are how I started my collections, also trading up with other people is a great way to get things you need and or want.
Your entire thumbnail image channels 1996 perfectly, maybe even earlier, maybe '93-95 - the hair, the glasses, the shirt, the "thrift store" junk in the background - lol
I love candles Im like really obsessed with candles for me though I go into dollar tree sometimes Wal-Mart but mostly dollar tree for my candles and I use a lot of birthday candles because they are small and easy 2 put away if maybe your in a situation where you have 2 hide your abilities birthday candles are also great for travel you can pack more in a smaller space
I suggest the product goo-gone for getting stickers off things like glass jars as well as other sturdy materials like metal!! I thrift jars all the time, and I swear by goo-gone
you know, for cleansing, there are a lot of hand and body washes these days that contain sage (or another herb of your choice for cleansing). You can make a soapy wash with them and use that to cleanse wood, metal, glass, plastic items. Even wax candles if you don't make the water too warm. An example - 'Glow Lab' Amber and Sage body wash. 'Earthwise' nourish body wash with orange, cedarwood and sage. 'Only good' handwash with Mint, aloe and sage. Body wash and handwash of these types is invariably fine on wood as they are intended to be gentle on skin, and you can rinse it after washing it anyway. Some of them have beneficial blends of herbs that can add other properties, in addition to cleansing. I guess if you have time on your hands, you could also make your own washes from raw. (Lessons from when you have to move back home with the olds due to changing environmental conditions, and suddenly find that soot from candles is a national crisis and smoke from smudging leads to a serious discussion about the impact on walls and HVAC air systems.) incidentally... if you have a good fix for mitigating soot staining from burning candles regularly in inconveniently white spaces (other than painting the walls with dark blue chalk paint - that was a flat no as a possible solution) - it would be great if you could do a video on it. Cheap candles from thrift stores solve the economic factor of candle offerings, but they are usually petroleum based candles, which generate the most soot. Obviously if money grew on trees, we'd all be offering beautiful pristine refined beeswax constructions made from our own beehives and dressed in herbs from our own gardens, but that ain't the day-to-day for most people so you work with what you've got Re the soot dilemma, in case anyone else has the same problem - at the moment my plan is to build a second outdoor altar in a relatively private spot of the yard, from a large terracotta or concrete planter, and wire up a decorative grill across the front so that i can safely leave candles to burn down in storm lanterns inside it without risking burning the place down.
I’ve heard people talk about 90 candles and I’m glad you showed that one. We have those in our dollar store but they never even last for three days at my house. I’m lucky to get 2 1/2 days out of them if I leave them wet. is it a nine day candle if you burn during the day and put it out at night? I have always been told to just light the candle and let it burn, but they don’t last 5, 7, or 9 days :-)
I just go to the dollar tree- I found candles and holders for Hades and Apollo! I got all my candles there so far, and the deities I work with seem to like them.
Honestly I would say I’d prefer thrifting things when possible because it’s kind of beautiful. You’re giving an item a new purpose and life rather than it ending up in a landfill.
Hi I'm from Melbourne Australia but I'm Harf American I have been to new Orleans 9 times and I'm a big fan of yours I love you think you for your videos thay make me happy when I'm down and thay are so halpful I got psychic witch it's great thanks for recommending it I hope you stay safe and have a great week love ya

I make my boyfriend Freddie Staley buy me food to have as feast items for celebrating mother nature. He uses his card link card. Speaking of bells I have a small and loud bell that if u shake it hard it's loud
I have an entire set of little wooden bowls like that lol, they’re really cute I had a glass that had a sticker on it, and I just let it sit in hot soapy water for a little bit, and then used a sponge and it came of really easily
My idea of why metal is usually easier to cleanse than wood is because wood is porous and metal is not. Anything attached to metal objects slides off the surface when you cleanse it but wood absorbs the energies around it so it takes more work to cleanse it.
as a witch who works at a thrift store… thrift stores are AMAZING for witchy supplies. i’ve built almost my entire altar and book collection from my store alone
people are so rude to other people for shopping for witchy things at walmart. while walmart far from the greatest store, sometimes they are the only place that has things that are in my budget. great video
I never understood people who do this. Everyone can be a witch. Everyone has a different budget! And we all make do with what we have and do our best.

Just maker sure they don't have lead in them, I have heard some old dishware can have lead in them.
Goo Gone also for the leftover sticker residue!
When we have to remove glue at work we usually use hand sanitizer and handcream
I use perfume
Eucalyptus essential oil also works a treat. Also, use your hairdryer to heat up the adhesive often helps, if you don’t have any of the oils etc.
Over here in the UK we have a shop called "British heart Foundation" and I saw a grape shaped glass dish and next to it was a mini statue of a woman with a grape basket. I should have gotten it when I had the chance, sorry Dionysus I missed that opportunity 😅
Lowkey want this to be a series since I loved it when you and Olivia did a video on this before
I enthusiastically second this

Lemon essential oil is exceptional for removing stickers. Just FYI. Thanks for the thrifty video!
This applies for any surface, I believe. After you get the paper off and still have residue, just rub that off with an eraser. Works like a charm
Ooo, haven't heard that tip before. Might try that one on the next super sticky bottle I clean up. Ty :)
Flea markets can also be a great source for items, I got a great deal on a jewelry box that looks like the one you got at one. Can we just take a moment to appreciate the Halloweentown vibes of this background music?? 😭👏👏

Pillaging! 😂😂 LOVE this! ❤️❤️❤️
I shop in my charity shops as well. I recently found a little plate/dish for 80p and a couple of witchy books. 🙂
Steaming the stickers off works really well and is my go to. Also is a good gentle way to cleanse In my opinion as you can add stuff to the water you are boiling
That jewelry box is TO DIE FOR!!! Such a great find!

Bug spray is great for removing Sticker residue from metal and glass
DEFINITELY going to be buying fake candles myself. I have 4 cats that like to wander everywhere, so much safer all around lol
You can saturate a sticker with olive oil or Vaseline and let it sit for some hours or even overnight. Then rub/scrub it off.
I have that same silver bell!!! I thrifted mine to!
For stickers on metal or glass there is some stuff called Goo Gone, works like a charm. Also, denatured coconut oil will work on glass, metal, and wood, with some patience and elbow grease. The best way to get stickers off are baby wipes! The oil in them lifts off the stickers. Safe too and won't damage the item.
That jewlery box is pretty. My grandma had one like that but it doubled as a music box too.
for some reason when you rang the bell my cat who was fast asleep woke up and lifted his head looking around a bunch 😂
Absolutely agree, thriftstores are an amazing place to source when you're broke (and for sustainability as well!) - I get all my candles second-hand and I recently found an incredible introductory book about astrology that I'm super excited to dig into! Thrifting is the best. Especially if you can get crystal stuff. Omg. The best.
My mom gave me her old jewelery box and I'm using it for my jewelery on the top and the the bottom drawer has crystals. ❤️
tip if you wanna cleanse wood with a liquid and dont know the effect, you can test it in a discreet area you wont see like the back of it or the inside of a leg if its furniture to see if it messes it up!
Thank you Frankie. I love thrift stores. It's like a treasure hunt for me as well.❤
Goof gone is the best for getting stickers off as well!

Amazing, I'll do that!
Fire being such a strong element, demand respect.
Baby wipes are really great for getting stickers off of things as well
Yas, i love this so much.
Happy for you! I love thrift stores & dollar trees! You can get sticker residue off with goof off or goo gone on metal & glass. Buying seeds is cheap and you can grow the herbs you need so you're a part of the whole process.
Nice! I’ve always heard those called 7 day candles not 9 day. I’m going to the thrift store tomorrow and hoping to find some candles.
Same. I've always called them 7 day candles too.
my favorite thing ive thrifted is a huge abalone shell the size of my face! made my then landlocked sea witch self so happy
I’ve learned using a hair dryer on the sticker before trying to peel it will soften the glue and make it peel more cleanly!
I had that EXACT jewelry box as a child! :)
Your chair really do be suffering with each turn XD
It SCREAMS
Thrift stores, yard sales and estate sales are how I started my collections, also trading up with other people is a great way to get things you need and or want.
We totally had jewelry boxes just like the one you found growing up!
The handles are a dead give away.
Great find!
I’m just starting to really keep my eye out for witchy things, and gosh the thrift store is my favorite place! There’s always so much good stuff
For stickers, I use oil like olive oil to get the sticky off.
Your entire thumbnail image channels 1996 perfectly, maybe even earlier, maybe '93-95 - the hair, the glasses, the shirt, the "thrift store" junk in the background - lol
Sun for cleansing wood as well as wind. Since I'm in Southern Colorado
I love the thrift store for witchy supplies! If I'm not making it myself, it probably came from the thrift store.
The fake candle is super smart!
I'll typically use either lemon essential oil or vegetable shortening to remove stickers.
Oil really helps get stickers off, it doesn't sound true but I always use it on the sticker
I suggest the product goo-gone for getting stickers off things like glass jars as well as other sturdy materials like metal!! I thrift jars all the time, and I swear by goo-gone
I put oil on stickers and glue after them. Leave it for few hours and after that i can remove it completely

Cheap candles from thrift stores solve the economic factor of candle offerings, but they are usually petroleum based candles, which generate the most soot. Obviously if money grew on trees, we'd all be offering beautiful pristine refined beeswax constructions made from our own beehives and dressed in herbs from our own gardens, but that ain't the day-to-day for most people so you work with what you've got

Heat stickers with a hair dryer, it melts/softens the adhesive and then the sticker will come off super easy. Works every time.
Thank you!
Hi I'm from Melbourne Australia but I'm Harf American I have been to new Orleans 9 times and I'm a big fan of yours I love you think you for your videos thay make me happy when I'm down and thay are so halpful I got psychic witch it's great thanks for recommending it I hope you stay safe and have a great week love ya
that jewelry box is abolutely stunning
I just went out to a local thrift and antique place and I found the BEST candle holders, they are my dream taper candle holders. Along with metal plates and everything I've wanted to find for awhile. I found the cutest candle holder with a handle! I'm planning on getting all witchy things primarily from thrift after this trip I just had.
You could make a rue salve or add rue to hemp oil - it would be applied like furniture polish to wood 🙂
Olive oil also works very well for removing the sticker residues.
i found a GORGEOUS candleholder that gave me tree of life vibes while at Goodwill. I hate supporting them but I couldn't pass it up
Omg thanks for ideas I’m a baby witch and I love improvising
Best piece of advice you can receive as a beginner is use what you have and don't be afraid to purchase secondhand.
This is the advice I WISH I was given as a beginner.
If you're curious, silver melts ice super easily! Like, if you touch ice to a silver edge it'll "cut" through lol
You and Olivia inspired me and my friend to go on a witchy thrift store trip yesterday and I made out like a bandit! My favorites were 2 LARGE Himalayan salt lamps totalling $17 (!!!) and a large green and gold platter (hello money altar) for $3. I'm never going to buy witchy supplies anywhere else lol love this video, love the content
Never thought to get candles from a thrift store so I think I'll definitely want to check that out next time I'm in one. Thanks!
I usually buy 1 deck of cards at the down to earth store for $25 every time i get $100 every other Friday only on Saturday at the square. I make my boyfriend Freddie Staley buy me food to have as feast items for celebrating mother nature. He uses his card link card. Speaking of bells I have a small and loud bell that if u shake it hard it's loud
for the sticker issue just use peanut butter! i swear it works just be careful and research if it will damage the material
I once caught my hair on fire. Leaning over to get something behind the candle. Yep burnt hair smells bad. Lol
A little help for ya those jars are the exact jars from Dollar Tree
I have the same problem with those stickers from ARC here in Denver. Sometimes I wonder if they use super glue
I have an entire set of little wooden bowls like that lol, they’re really cute
I had a glass that had a sticker on it, and I just let it sit in hot soapy water for a little bit, and then used a sponge and it came of really easily
Orange oil will work on stickers too
My idea of why metal is usually easier to cleanse than wood is because wood is porous and metal is not. Anything attached to metal objects slides off the surface when you cleanse it but wood absorbs the energies around it so it takes more work to cleanse it.
Love that bell
I LOVE IT ALREADY
omg i have tht exact jewelry box, it’s been in my household since before i was born
Those white nine day candles are from the dollar tree
GOO GONE!!!!
Hey Frankie, thank you for making videos for us you make my day 10x better. Love ya!
-Jayda♓👻🐍
I always go thrifting for things in the uk we call them charity shops . So for me I’m happy to give to charities money and get things to use .
Your hair my friend looks great! I want my hair to look so soft lol and your earrings dhshje can't wait to watch the video!
Ahhh thank you! It's a little long right now. Working on getting a haircut soon.
Goo-gone is what I use to get rid of stickers.
Oh, wow! My mom had the exact same jewelry box lol
I live in TN & my Goodwill hardly ever have candles
we need another thrift with me PLSSSSSS
Whoohoo love thrift hauls
Look for black pillar candles after Halloween!! I found I giant double wick black pillar on November 3rd for 3$!!!
Ahh thank you!
