I love the lyrics too. "My so-called friends say you're not alive I'll bake their bones for tellin' lies Then pull the pastry from the pie And pour the gravy in their eye." It's so Grimm's fairly tale-like. Eerie and poetic.

Nice dark sinister New England style pathos - a November scarred hill in a field, a dark bitter fall night - a love affair between a not quite right scarecrow and a not quite right little girl, with a little spool of gold thread, stitching the scarecrow's tears in the dark, singing not quite right rhymes.. Sweet.
the best tour in their tour history, with great stage set-up,props (very cabaret), sioux's voice at her best (live) and the band playing very 'tight' sets with a lot of bside surprises thrown in the set - geffen treated them well....

Siouxsie and the Banshees are one ofn my all time favorites. This song is my favorite off Peepshow. Man what a classic.
Peepshow and Tinderbox are definitely two of the best albums by the Banshees.
