Let’s all take a minute to appreciate the the accomplishments Chris has going on. His own business, full time job, ALSO daily updates new content DAILY !! on top of machine payments and I know what it’s like to take care of payroll and be a one man show when you have a job and own a business with all logistics, let alone take care of a big piece of land then sprinkle some stress on that. Fucken solid channel and a hard working American!! We appreciate all the new machinery content and daily uploads been here since day 1

  • @rhulandjc2008

I would think you would want to put some side brackets and a spacer piece between the pin brackets for lateral strength so they don't bend while pushing and turning as I can imagine there would be a lot of torque on the pins in a turn. Course I know next to nothing when It comes to metal work... but my profession calls for me to look for weak points... and just something my brain picked up on. Love the rake cant wait to see it in real use.

We put mounts for one of those rakes on our grapple skidders.p to be able to use it on either one. We added a plate on each side of each blade to level the mounting spot on the blades so we didn’t have to cut either the blade or the mount. They’re a great rake. I also grab the rake with my log loader and sweep up the landing area on our logging operation, that is covered with brush and wood blocks on a daily basis.

on the Root fork. imagine... having an upside down L shaped bar welded on the front.. or even a straight bar .. that when you lift the root fork all the way up against something.. you put a second set of pins thru the brackets you welded to the top of the blade... so the root fork is held up securely at a high angle. if they make a 2 section.. one can have a latching effect.. so get the root fork against something to lift it up and one side latches in place while you pin the other side.. it will be hell to unpin it from a high angle. but it might be doable. no use having to track back and forth across a job to pick up the root rake or have to go to the far side of a job to get it to haul it back to the low boy..
your GPS pole. cut the pole a few inches higher than the blade.. build up an insert to go in the lower half that fits a sliding fit tight in the upper tube.. slit the sides or the front of the upper tube allowing you to put a single nut or bolt thru the upper tube to pinch it tight on the insert .. allowing you to take it down fairly easily. but also... weld a tube section to the side of the top piece.. so you can take it off.. and mount it sideways on the lower tube to keep it out of the way when not needed.

modify that pole assembly so that you can leave the bracket on and slide the pole into a receiver on the bracket. A pin would hold it in place. A good analogy would be just like a hitch receiver on your truck..

Would have been better to weld the inside ears on first instead of the outer ones, easier to get at to weld.

interesting tidbit: I just called USA attachments about a rake for a dozer and the gentlemen said to size it so the rake width was narrower than the blade.
I see yours is quite a bit beyond the blade edges. I've never heard you say anything about that being an issue so I suppose it's not a big deal.

I’m using the same Dozer / tooth combo to dethatch my 1.5 acre lawn. Sure it’s a 1 trick pony for me but like my buddy Jerry said, “you’ll never have a thatch problem again”.

Chris sorry bud noticed a flaw your brackets are backwards if you go back to (4:30 mark) the pin hinge bracket went on the outside straight hinge on the inside you`ve welded them opposite I dont know if this will make a difference I hope not......Great Video
