Hi Michael, you are going to struggle on macOS since apple removed support for plugins it no longer works, I believe there is an old browser version you can download that supports the HikVision plugin, I’ll take a look and let you know which it is.
@@HikVisionGuru Thank you. I have come to realise this after many hours of struggling and research. I managed to use iVMS-4200 software on the Mac which works. I also have Hik vision cameras at my home in Wales and wanted to integrate a new camera that I installed at my home in Kenya. Have added to the camera but cannot view recording with it at the moment.
Hi, Thanks for the video. Do you know if there is a way to change on which frame does appear a camera? I have 3 cameras and the third one is a wide view. If in the Live View I select the 3 cameras option, the first is wide and the other 2 are normal... but I would like to have the first 2 normal and the 3rd wide. Is there any trick to show the camera in that way, please?
Is this on the web interface or on a screen plugged into the device? On the web interface you can single click on the frame you want so it highlights, then double click on the camera from the left menu for it to display in the highlighted frame.
Hi. Great videos thanks. I was wondering if you could let me know how the live view can be setup on the web interface so that it always starts with a set layout? It always starts with a 3 by 3 layout.
Hi Anthony! You’re unable to do this on the web interface, if you want something with more functions and features like this, you may be best off using HikVision’s ivms4200 software

Hi, great video!! Is there any chance to avoid the initial login and override it or to include the login on the URL, so I can go directly into my camera view? I want to include it on a web viewer I have on an app, but I do not know if I can do this.
Thanks for the tutorial Sir. is there any option to set a default camera arrangment preset? i have 4 cameras only enabled for a limited user, and everytime it logs in i have to select the 4 cameras view and select them from the left panel, (these are not conected in order 1-2-3-4 to thge dvr, for example, the only 4 cameras enabled are 3 - 8 - 10 -15, so when i load the 4 cameras view, i have to load each camera in one of the panels.
Hi, thanks for these videos. Really helping me learn about my new camera system. I have no “Local” page under my configuration tab therefore cannot enable the viewing of my cameras. Any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks.
Hi Again, Another great video. My children have PC's with Internet explorer, however I use a Mac, is there anything different I would need to do accessing the NVR from a MAc / Safari, should I stick to using google Chrome on the Mac or just use a PC instead ? Thanks Darren
Hi Darren, theres quite a few known issues with using a mac, we find it doesn't work at all sometimes. If you're just configuring settings then mac is fine, but when trying to live view it can be a pain and not work even with the plugin. IE is definitely the best so far.
Hi. Can we disable or hide the PTZ menu from the Live View interface? When Live View interface is loaded the PTZ menu is also loaded. Every time we need to hide it manually.
Great videos thank you. I have a lot of issues with foxes in my garden, the walk along walls and gates. For some strange reason they seem to have started to just appear and then suddenly disappear from the playback screen even when they are not moving in and out of the secure area. Any idea why that might happen? Thank you.
Hi Frank, do you mean like the playback is stuttering? When you playback, if you look at the time and the seconds ticking by, does it tick by smoothly?
Thanks for the great content! Question: The page shown at time 1:48 does not save my settings, not can I assign folder locations to save files to. I watched your other video on getting the mobile app to work and that is working great, thanks. Can you please assist.
It is a bit hit and miss depending on device firmware. We still use MS Edge, but we add the NVR url into internet explorer mode, you can do this by going onto Edge, clicking on the 3 dots in the top right, click on settings, click on default browser from the left menu, then “allow sites to be reloaded in IE mode” make sure is set to “allow”, then below that click “add”, then type in your ip and hit “add” Then type in the ip address into the internet search bar and it will load into IE mode
You will need to enable virtual host, this can be found on your nvrs web interface, configuration, network, advanced, other, tick to enable virtual host, hit save. You’ll then have to click on system, camera management, ip channel, then click on the blue link next to each camera to access its interface
Hi Guys! Remember, if you get a popup asking to enable/install a webcomponents plugin, make sure you allow it! If not you're live view will not work.
Great simple guide .... super ... one question if i wanted to search for movement in a specific location on the camera how do you do that?
Thanks! You’re going to struggle to find motion in a specific area, unless you’ve got motion detection setup for that region?
@@HikVisionGuru thank you
Do you have a similar video for Safari on MacBook. I don’t see Local

Hello Fercho! I don’t believe this is possible via the web interface screen. If you use the HikVision software ivms4200 it has enhanced functionality

Not to worry. I sorted it using Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge 👍🏼

Are you using internet explorer or edge? If it’s edge, go to the settings in the corner and click on use internet explorer compatibility mdoe

Hi.
Do all the cameras have to be the same type? I have 4 cameras on my network but wanted to change 1 for a different model. Is that possible
Hi! As long as they are IP cameras you’ll have no issue with this.
@@HikVisionGuru much appreciated

Hi Wolfmann, are you using internet explorer or a different browser? Could you try running IE in administrator mode
Does this support any other browser besides IE which went away?

Hey Hi, does this solution work for remote viewing?
Hi Pratap, yes it does, however you would need to port forward your internet router
How can I access individual camera web interface?
You will need to enable virtual host, this can be found on your nvrs web interface, configuration, network, advanced, other, tick to enable virtual host, hit save. You’ll then have to click on system, camera management, ip channel, then click on the blue link next to each camera to access its interface
@@HikVisionGuru Thanks a lot. Somehow I missed finding this option.
