Watched several videos on Hikvision's MD and have to say this is by far the best, so thank-you. Just one question though, not so long ago whilst setting up motion detection some of the squares within the grid used to go red when motion was detected, which made things a lot easier for removing bushes etc when they blow in the wind. I seem to have lost that facility now, can you throw some light on this please and how to get it back. Thanks again guys.
You can’t turn the red squares off so seems strange it would disappear. Maybe try putting the squares in the whole picture and see what happens if picks things up again. Possibly there’s no movement or sensitive is very low and not detecting. You could switch the recorder off and back on again to see if that helps. Thanks
@@DACSecurity Thanks for taking the time to respond, its appreciated. I had already tried everything you mention and more. Including making sure Dynamic Analysis for Motion is enabled. Im using the DS-9632NI-I8 running V4.61.000 build 220507 if it helps. I've also tried via the web using the local IP address of the NVR, IVMS 4500, the NVR itself and even the camera's individual IP addresses. And whilst I can clear the red squares ok for each camera and then choose the areas I wish motion to be picked up by clicking on the pertinent squares, it still doesnt show any movement like it used to when motion is detected. The other settings havent been touched including the sensitivity which is 60. I'm pretty confident you guys will work it out as I'm at a complete loss now. Thanks again.
@@DACSecurity Yep, all ticked. As mentioned above, the motion detection is working and I'm able to highlight the squares I want the motion to be picked up and remove the areas I don't. But crucially I want to be able to view certain areas to see if motion is detected or not before removing them. I'm wondering if the latest firmware versions have removed this facility, although there's nothing mentioned in the notes Hikvision disclose associated with each firmware update. Thanks again for your assistance on this matter. Also can you guys supply the latest IP camera's that HV have released?
Just to also confirm the settings in the Arming Schedule and Linkage Method within the motion section appear to be ok. The arming section is completely blue and I have A->1 ticked within the linkage method and D1 ticked, being the camera name. I'm not entirely sure this would have anything to do with my issue however.
Why it's not possible to set continuous recording WHIT motion? It would be super easy to find events on the time line and at the same time have 100% recording...
Hi, Do I have to buy a Hikvision camera, which has motion detection on own, or it doesn't matter, and the DVR will do its own work (if the camera doesn't have recognition feature)? Thanks, Tamas
Good day, question to ask, on setting up the Motion detection area. If i place the grid on a door, & setup the schedule, will I still record the whole area as it did before or will just the door will be recorded? (I will still need the whole area recorded as before). Thank you so much for this video. Really helps.
@@DACSecurity the schedule has to be 24/7, unfortunately the area surrounding this door must also be recorded. I have several cameras on other doors with the same setup, door and areas must be recorded and the added inconvience (lol) there are always people milling around these sites.
What you could do is set the camera or cameras up for continuous record so it records the whole picture all the time. Then switch on motion detection also using your grid and the grid area will send alerts to your phone. Hope that makes sense
Watch the video from 6:30 and select your camera and put to blue continuous. Then switch on motion detection where you create your grid and alerts. This will record everything and use your grid for notifications when people around
Nice video. Do you have one showing how to set up a PTZ camera movement when a Bullet cam detects motion? I have that same NVR firmware (4.5) in my NVR thanks
Good video. I have nvr DS 7616NI-Q2 7 Camera HNC 344-XD. I can't seem to intrusion or cross line motion to enable. After enabling and drawing box or line when I click to save I get invalid operation. Can you please advise
I have the same device but i have a problem i live in a apartment and there is some lights that light if someone is walking and that is causing my camera to send me a alarm thinking it was someone any tips ?
A difficult one tbh if the light is motion activated as it will see the changes. All I can suggest is decreasing sensitivity, decrease the amount of squares and scatter them about. Apart from that not much else you can do
Another question, if i may, I really appreciate these videos on the NVR 4.0. I have a question, if I set up an Admin password and then additional users accts, is there a way to "lock down" the cameras, that i added for viewing? What happens now, i have 50 cameras out of 200 that are on several "pages" and sometimes my team will accidently hit a camera to view and it moves off that page and onto another, which in turn creates a domino effect, where several cameras have been moved from their original page. I then have to place the cameras back to where they were originally. Is there a way to prevent this?
Yes I know the problem as someone in our office keeps doing the same. sadly I’m not aware of a way to stop this. It bugs me rotten also as there not keeping the flow I want.
Hi! Thanks! In my Hikvision DVR the option "Motion" and "Event" are recording equal. I would like recording only "human bodies" on "event" option. How I fix that?
@@DACSecurity Yeah! On the "event recording" option, DVR records all motions equal "motion recording". However the alarm only sounds when human bodies are detected.
what is the distance that the motion sensor can cover? i have heard that it is very short, the object has to be only a few feet away for it to work otherwise it won't detect any movement at all
No not true. I'm not sure on the distance but it can be very sensitive to the point its far too sensitive. There is adjustment settings to decrease and increase as required. Thanks
@@DACSecurity yeah, the argument is not about sensibility, it's about distance, yeah it can be very sensitive or not at short distances, at longer distances it just stops detecting moving very well.... say at 20 feet....

Hi there, was wondering if you can help me. I have a Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR. Last Friday my security company was at my house swapping it out for a new one and they must not have set the date right because yesterday I went to play back footage and it was saying it was Tuesday, October 18 (when in fact it was Monday, October 17). I reset the date yesterday at noon to Monday but the problem is when I go to play back today Tuesday, it is showing me yesterday's footage (I guess because it was showing as Tuesday yesterday morning until lunch). When will the recorder catch up and record in real time or is there something else I need to go? Live play is showing the correct day and time as of noon yesterday, Monday 10/17. My security company is absolutely terrible and are of no help but as a last resort I will make them come back out.
Options are you leave it to record until the hard drive is full and re-records over itself or you wipe the hard drive completely and it will all start fresh with the correct date from the beginning. As it is it will always show the wrong day until is recorded back over that day . Best just to leave it as is and it will sort itself out. Thanks
