Will is good with all the drivers and knows what they like to to be treated and how they don't . Stroll for example I think has a real bromance with Will cos Will often leaps to his defence when people from both media and fans are bashing him about only being in F1 due to his dad's money.
he doesn't come from a rich family but he was just a kid who was naturally fast and loved it. in his book it says that ending up in f1 was actually over the expectations for his parents at least, and it was a sum of kimi's performance, multiple people behind him and a bit of luck as well. his career has a very different foundation from the next gen stars, whose goal from day 1 might be to be an f1 driver.
Hiring Will Buxton was a stroke of genius from Liberty. Dude is so much better than these cookie cutter interviewers who get the same answers from drivers all the time. Also shows his respect for the drivers and passion for the sport

Kimi has huge fanbase in asia especially, so ye I would expect some drop, but F1 has always gone forward and gained new fans for new drivers....One thing is for sure, once Kimi is gone, there wont be another one like him.... As Finn its hard for me to even rally behind Bottas when Kimi is gone.....its funny to think that way, but for me 3 Finnish drivers that Ive really liked over the years have been both Mikas (Häkkinen and Salo) and Kimi ofc. I never felt too bad for Kovalainen for example, when his career in F1 fell short or never felt as happy and excited about Bottas when he was won.
Kimi is the best character Formula 1 has ever seen... He's always going to be the best driver in my eyes. I'll be heartbroken when he leaves. I want Kimi to win another championship before he leaves, it probably won't happen, but it would be awesome if it did.
I'm just happy Kimi got to win a race again with Ferrari, the move to Sauber is hard to take as I think if he retired now he would be finishing on a massive high with that win in Austin.
Kimi will leave a massive hole in F1 when he goes. He is one of the 'old guard' and a unique personality. I know he has two or more years still to go, but sometimes it's best to recognise the end is near and enjoy the twilight live rather than look back afterwards. I hope Sauber give him a car that allows him to fight near the front next year.
Think this is one of the best Kimi interviews I've ever seen. He seems so comfortable and talkative and is easily joking around so great interviewing and good original questions!
Well Kimi is definitely feeling excited about the change of scenery/team..... Its entirely new kind of challenge for him, he hasnt been in midfield team other than his 2 years at Lotus and ofc his debut season at Sauber, so he should get lot more actual racing against other drivers next season than just having rather dull races at the front.
He's kind of really opened up all season. He's been more chatty than ever. There was one moment where it looked like Will was thinking "Ok that's enough Kimi, shut up so we can get to the next question". We've never seen that before. :P
Kimi is beautifully anarchist and very dedicated to be primarily truthful and honest to himself. All the rest is non important to him, except his family I believe. This kind of character is so rare in public scenes so that's why we like Kimi so much.

He's serious. Kimi only raced after his prime for fun and the earnings. You can tell that he didn't give any real effort after he won the championship and after Lotus. Racing is his hobby and F1 is his like his backyard.
Balnazzardi i think he will have more fun in midfield races. It isn't a shame he isn't able to compete with Seb and Lewis anymore for his age. So why drive boring races at the front and get podiums (and more interviews xD) if he is able to have exciting battles and interesting races in the midfield.
Filipe Leite I think Leclerc can be at the same level as Vettel, for Gasly I think Verstappen will dominate (but he probably is 2nd driver pre-season). But in an ideal world for me, both Gasly and Leclerc will bring good results.
Filipe Leite I think they’ll do good, hopefully they’ll be very competitive. Also I don’t think inexperience will be a big problem. Like what’s the last time a driver flopped at a top team? I really can’t remember.
@Alex Parent Well Mclaren had high hopes for Perez and Magnussen in 2013 and 2014, both were given the boot after 1 year....obviously you can argue that Mclaren might not have been exactly top team anymore during those years but anyhow... Also I think Kovalainen was flop when he went against Hamilton in Mclaren in 2008 and 2009....definitely you could say that his poor performance might have very well costed Mclaren WCC in 2008 that they might have won with better driver. Anyhow we have to see exactly how good Leclerc can really be.....too early to judge one way or another. Im however expecting him to be very close to Vettel right from the start. I dont think Ferrari would have got him for 2019 already if they thought he was not good/ready enough.
I love the first 6 seconds of this, all through the introduction, it's basically like Kimi is in standby mode. Doesn't blink, completely motionless, staring at nothing, Clearly the on button is saying "Kimi". He's basically F1's Alexa.
It's great that Kimi is set to stay in F1 next year but it's right he takes a step down to Sauber where there is a bit less politics and pressure and that Charles is given a chance in the big team. Just think how excited Giovinazzi must be to have an ex-WDC as a team mate in his first full season of F1- he must feel like Christmas has come early. Kimi v Antonio next year will be something to look out for next year
It's so good to see Kimi smile, yet at the same time, it's so sad to see him leave Ferrari. Although I'm a huge Vettel fan, I would love to see Kimi win at least one of the last two races. What a team Ferrari is. It is love.
