Someone asked me what my favorite movie was, I replied with Interstellar. They told me that the movie is overrated and “basic” and that I should watch more movies. I’ve been watching 3 movies a week since I was 3 years old. Interstellar is just such an amazing and emotional movie, it has decent acting but the visuals and the music make it so much more spectacular.
First time I watched it and I cried like a baby because the music was out of this world, just something I have never listened before. Then I started to admire Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan way of making films.
I remember watching the movie twice in theatres once with friends, the second with my dad. Dad worked north of Fort Mac in an oil field, he started in 2006 and will retire this spring. My parents had a rough spot in their marriage and nearly divorced in 2015, mom survived cancer the next year and is doing fine today. Dad heard us three kids grow up over the phone, through pictures we'd email him and for the times he was home in winter and summer, usually. He wanted to be around for big life events like graduating college or buying a first car, he missed a few of those events, but he provided a life we'd never thought possible. A father's love is a father's love. My friends didn't understand why I was crying through parts of the movie but the movie struck so many chords with me and I still choke up thinking about what my father has done for the family despite sacrifice. The soundtrack is truly moving and awesome, I can't think of many movies that do the same. This movie has made me appreciate my family exponentially more. Hans Zimmer is the Goat... people argue the likes of Beethoven, or Mozart are the best composers and that if they were born in the modern day they would be just as good... but I simply can't see them being able to pick up the emotions that the directors of movies require to portray the feelings of the moment in whatever movie it may be. Hans Zimmer is able to compose the perfect track for every given moment and quite literally makes the movie, the movie; without his music they simply would be nowhere near as good
Hans really outdid himself on this one. Truly a masterpiece. Nonstop goosebumps and it always makes me want to start crying because it’s so beautiful. This gentleman did a superb job. Noise of Airport + Interstellar Music in the background = Deep Sleep 💙
A masterpiece of music. I would have been in tears at the airport.
Look, strangers just chilling together and enjoying some music. No face masks. No social distancing. Do you ever think we’re getting back to that? Those were the days.
Beautifull melody for soul, simply beautifull, greetings from Uruguay
