    It'll be really reasuring in the next big wind event to know those are on the ground. Changes the property and your initial ideas but trees grow back and you can now continue making it your own.

      Yeh the wind used to stress us out a bit! Didn’t sleep so well on a windy night, you are right though, now we get to plant the trees we want 😁

    As a ex ok lumberjack in Kaingaroa Forest I can confirm mature pine are very exciting in a high wind event. Not dissimilar to live field firing episodes in Waiouru. Oh and gum kills a lot of home handymen cos it's spring loaded. Such a interesting topic.

      That gum is scary, we had quite a few dead branches come down and there was a bit of weight in them! Pretty happy to have the trees down now with all this wind we have been having lately!
