Great work. I always crack eggs into a cup first. Easy to get shell out and if the egg is bad you’ve not ruined the rest of the mix. Looking forward to more videos. Take care!
Pretty good for a first attempt Andy.👍 The lemon juice (or an alternative) would have given your icing a more icing-like consistency. A wee tip when measuring: add whatever you're weighing to an *empty* bowl, then tip into the main bowl - less chance of c@ck-ups. Don't be afraid of piping.😁 For something like this, you don't need to be too precise, or precise at all, so it's dead simple. It's only when you start doing whirls, swirls or twirls that it gets tricky. "Proper" bakers might disagree here but I would have baked them one tray at a time. The top tray would cook quicker than the bottom ones - heat rises and all that. I'd be challenging Mr Marshall to a "Call All the Biscuits" showdown - I'd watch that !! 😁 Cheers for now, Dougie.
I approve of baking - but sift the flour first! Also, a little bit more vanilla than indicated in the recipe is usually no bad thing (as long as you have good vanilla). But you have the right idea being precise: most people who do badly at baking do so because of lack of precision. Baking is not ordinary cooking: it is edible chemistry. Also, your cat is adorable.
id like to see geoff marshall have a go at this too and maby have a baking competetion
